Chapter 22 - Chapter 22: More to Deal With

Su Kingdom

"She did all that?" Prince Ying sat in his study staring at the report given to him by one of his secret guard. "Yes, Prince. They just recently built a port, fieff, and something called a banking system. So far she seems quite determined to revive all her cities." The guard says while he was kneeled before him. Prince Ying had to admit she did a lot in a matter of days....and without his help! Looks like he lost. She won't be taking sides with him easily and it was also because of that guy. Could it be a personal grudge for almost killing her? [A man who doesn't know that it was actually 99 times that he killed her]. "It also says here that she appointed two leaders so far. One in the newly named Farmer's City and one in Pride City. There are no names mentioned?" He frowns at the report.

"Sorry I wasn't able to get that much. I do know that they seemed to be talented individuals, though." The guard says. Prince Ying noticed his lack of eye contact, "what is it?" He asks lowering the report. The guard suddenly bows super low, "I apologise Prince! I was caught following her." He admits. "What!? How is that possible? Your one of my best and most skilled in my secret guards!" He yells completely shocked. "This subordinate is sorry! Please punish me" He cries. Prince Ying sighs and tosses the report onto his desk. So, he was not dealing with someone easy. it seems he had forgotten...How talented that woman truely was.

Just because she was now good, does not mean she would lose her skill as a Queen. One who was Queen even at a young age.

Pride City

Venna was exhausted and it's only been a couple of days. So far she's met with Count Rodger, Sir Gert, and Chancellor Lexor all in one sitting. But the excitement of the people is what really mattered, especially since now it was beginning to look like a real city. Citizens houses are being rebuilt and roads are being managed. They even learned that the thing that made Pride City special was their combat skills. The Queen wanted them to be a secret army that will train and be used only when the Queen needed them. Speaking of, they have a few days before her arrival. Venna enters a nearby store recently built by Gert. "A flower shop?" She asked as an elderly woman and tall man came from the back.

"Oh it's Lady Venna. Did you come to check on us?" The elderly woman asks and then she smiles warmly. "I did Miss Rose. It looks real good, and this handsome man is?" She asks nodding over at the man. She was positive that she's never seen him before. Miss Rose grabs the man's arm and pulls him forward, "this here is my grandson, respectfully bow to Lady Venna, Irin." She says patting his arm lightly. Irin bows his head, "a pleasure to meet Lady Venna." He says before leaving her alone with Miss Rose. "Well dear please remember to drop by anytime. I should finish setting up the store." Miss Rose smiles up at her before sauntering off.

Back to Golden Dragon Palace

After going over the checklist of things completed, I realized that I still had a lot to do. While I now have two cities that are with citizens, I have to say that I can do better. The people were few, but it was a start. The other problem at hand is my brother, since his disappearance will bring "her" to my doorstep. I will have to prepare, and fast. I still need to inspect the strange item they found in Farmer's City as well. I also have to get ready to visit Pride city in a couple of days. It looks like I have a lot on my plate. I'll send Lexor to inspect Farmer's City while Castian and I will visit Pride City. Then I'll have Brim take care of the unwanted guest while I'm away.

Since that will be taking care of I should have less on my plate now. I sit back, it has been two days since the incident with Pride City, I haven't slept at all. There was a tap at my door, "enter!" I call out just as Sir Derek steps in. He was one of the Royal Knights that would usually come to my office. It seems they worry about me constantly and always made sure that I wasn't working too hard. "Sir Derek, is this another personal visit?" I asked. Sir Derek nods as he glanced over to see that all the paperwork was put to the side in the completed section. "Your Majesty, you look tired. I think you should go rest." He says looking at the huge pile that had not been completed.

"I can't do that, there is still unfinished work for me to do." I rejected. If I can continue for the next two days then I'll be done just in time for the visit. Sir Derek frowns, I knew that look. He wasn't too pleased with my answer, "if I tell Duke Castian that you have been working too hard I wonder...." He cuts off as he realized that him saying that had worked, I pout, it seems they know exactly where to hit me. Castian has become quite the caretaker lately and accepted the title as Duke. He wants to take away all my burdens and believes that is what he's for.

I'm happy he feels this way, but if he continues to go this strong I think I'll become too spoiled. "Alright, I get it." I say standing up and leaving the study. He's right, I should stretch my legs a bit. I have been cooped up in that office for too long.
