They finally arrived in Ronin, it turns out that it was not very large but it was not small either. "So this is where those rumors started. Not very impressive is it?" Doctor An ask looking about at the very depressed looking citizens. Princess Ara stops to ask about this place, the citizen seemed really out of it and only continued walking. "How strange, there's something wrong with the people here." Princess Ara says returning. Apparently the rumors about the citizens eating people must be just that, a rumor. Not only did they not try to talk to them or welcome them they didn't seem to be aware of their surroundings.
The more they walked, the worse it became, "hey, look at this." King Jero waves them over to a house where and elderly lady sat knitting in her chair. She didn't look like the others at all, "excuse me ma'am?" Kila ask reaching for the old woman's hand. She was only planning to tap her lightly but as soon as she reached out the old lady hisses at her. Kila snatches her hand back and stumbles backwards, "what the hell." Doctor An says as the lady went back to knitting as if nothing even happened. "I'm having a really bad feeling." King Jero says as they walked to the side and stood there completely confused on what to do next. "If the people here are like this what are we to do? How do we ask about the Jewwl?" Doctor An asked.
"A jewel? What jewel are you looking for?" King Jero asks. That's right they never told them why they wanted to travel this way. They only explained that she wanted a cure that was all. "The Jewel of Misty Glade." She answers immediately. Princess Ara looks at her in shock. "But that jewel is just a legend." She says. King Jero frowns, "actually it's quite real." He mutters. Princess Ara turns to him with an even more suprised expression, "there's no way." she denies with a shake of her head. "Not it's true. Come on I know exactly where to look." He says. They followed Jero through the city until they reached a large building, "the muesum? If it were that easy then we are truely lucky." Doctor An says as they enter.
King Jero leads them to the area of jewels that are very expensive but too rare to sell. "Here." He says pointing at the display. Kila blinks, it was the real thing! But how did he know? Kila looked over a him questioningly. "It's a long story, it's retrieving the jewel that will be the problem. Doctor An looks about and back at King Jero, "what's the problem? It's not like anyone's around to stop us." He says. Well then he had a point, with everyone out of commition then they can get out of here with the Jewel and anything else if they wanted to. "Let's go find the key, I rather not destroy any property." Kila says as she left the group to go find out where they kept the display keys.
Once she found it she noticed a guard sitting by the door, though he looked sleep. She slipped past him into the room and found a box located on the wall with the keys in it. She grabs it and leaves the room, quielty slipping by the guard once more. She runs and meets back up with the others that waited for her. They opened the case and took the jewel out just like that reclosing the glass after tucking the jewel away in Kila's spatial bag. "The sound of shattering coming from somewhere in the muesum caught their attention, "what was that?" Princess Ara asks as they ran to check it out. Once they rounded the corner they noticed that the window to the entrance was suddenly broken. The guard that was once sleeping was now roaming about in that depressed state.
"Is it me or is that guy coming in our direction?" Doctor An ask pointing to the guard that was indeed walking in their direction. His eyes were bloodshot and he seemed to be foaming at the mouth. "Is that normal?" Princess Ara ask as we noticed that he was not the only one. The citizens were slowly entering the muesum one by one and coming towards them through the broken glass. "It seems we are in a bit of a bind. How are we getting out of here. It looks like they want to eat us." Doctor An says. There was no other way out the muesum since the citizens were coming from the entrance windows and through the muesum door. Suddnely a noise from above caught their attetion, someone tosses four ropes down, "hey, climb up!"
They had no choice but to do so as they all took a rope that pulled them up easily. There were seven people on the rooftop, two of them were burly men. Once they reached the roof top Doctor An felt more relieved though he was still feeling his heart thumping wildly in his chest. To think they almost became live food for crazy people. "You guys must be travelers not to hear about the rumors here." A woman says. She stood at near the building's edge looking at them. "The only way those people would react after staying like that for a while is if you took something out of the muesum." Says a teen that sat out the rooftop. They did take something but they were not planning to put it back even if she asked nicely.
"So what's wrong with them?" Princess Ara asked instead. The woman narrows her eyes but she answers anyways. "It's a long story but I'll shorten it a bit. Those people are being controlled by magic. They're still alive but because the mayor was going insane the people fell under a trance ever since then. If anything is stolen or harmed in this town the mayor will know about it and make the people here kill and eat whoever did the deed. It's starting to get old honestly. If we can somehow find the mayor and stop this. Then we can save the people." The woman says. Doctor An shudders at the thought of these people not knowing what they were doing. "To think it was something like that." Kila mutters.
"Well then it has nothing to do with us. We got what we came for so it's best that we leave." Doctor An says as he grabs Kila's hand and turns as back to where they climbed up a rope. Kila pulls her hand away, "I think since we had something to do with this we should help." Princess Ara says. King Jero crosses his arms and Kila nods as they all turned to him. "Whatever." Was all he could say.
