Chapter 26 - Chapter 26: Wait a bloody minute, that's Wrath?

"F*ck! That's him! How in the world did he already get a familiar?"

"Don't tell me the egg he got a few hours back hatched so quickly?"

"Yeah, there's no way that happened, he probably got himself an egg before this!"

"He's connected with Lord Lucifer's family, so he probably pulled some strings..."

I walked back to the training grounds, once again drenched with jealous gazes and doubtful comments. It's as if I was a magnet for all the jealous people, wait correction, all the jealous demons and demi-demons throughout Hell. But alas, all I could do is sigh and keep walking. I reached the ground, but something was amiss. The ground somehow felt different from before, and since I could now feel and sense magic around me, I knew this wasn't the same ground I was on during my training with Gluttony.

Then it clicked in my mind. Of course! I don't always come to the same ground, but different grounds that accommodate the trainees and other stuff the generals might need. That explains why there wasn't craters on the ground from my previous spar with Pride. "Seems like you figured it out," A familiar voice cuts through my thoughts. "Grrrrrr~!" Blitz growled. "I turned my head, to look at a green-haired man, who resembled Jason for a moment, but I quickly shook my head to get that out.

Unlike Jason, who was scrawny and the most eye-catching and number 1 target for any bully, the man in front of me was thin and lean, with the perfect pair of dark brown eyes, but I could easily see through his illusion. Although he looked handsome and fragile, his strength was almost boundless. His muscles, which to the normal eyes look a little toned, was actually compressed to look so. In reality, his body could easily rival the likes of Pride, in terms of looks and power.

"Stop looking at me with those lewd eyes," The man covered his chest area jokingly. Suddenly realized I was staring at him, I quickly looked away. "Kid, if you really want to appraise someone, try and do it subtly," The man advised with a wide grin on his face. Looking at the grin on his face, Blitz began growling even louder, glaring at him, hoping he would get scared. Unfortunately, Murphy's Law didn't even leave poor Blitz.

"Aww, even if you're a Purple-grade familiar, you think you can scare one of the 7 Generals with a growl? How cute!" The man laughed. Then I finally recognized who this man was (I'm sure most of you guys already did). "Hehe, that's right. I'm Wrath, blessed by the Legendary Dragon, and one of the 7 Deadly Sin Generals, a pleasure to meet you," Wrath introduced, with with his right hand on his chest. The Legendary what now? "I assume you don't know what the Legendary Dragon is, which was expected. I say it with my introduction to awe the audience, but all it does is confuse the demi-demons, who haven't even heard of him," Wrath sighed, clearly expecting this.

Wait a bloody minute, that's Wrath? Huh... he isn't exactly as he was portrayed to be... he's so charming, probably some rumours to scare us first-timers. He's basically just continuing the conversation without me. It's like... he can read my mind. "Let's just say it's part of my charm," Wrath winked and walked off, leaving a very creeped out me behind. Not the best start to a training session, but definitely not the worst. After what felt like a million years, I reached the spot where the crowd was gathered. To be completely honest, I have no clue where we were supposed to meet, but like the saying goes, "When in doubt, follow the crowd," I thought to myself and chuckled (Yeah, that's probably not a real saying).

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Hello, young ones!" Wrath welcomed the crowd, but didn't get much of a reaction. All he received was some grunts. "Damn, tough crowd huh?" Wrath sighed, and then began stretching his hands up in the sky. "Ah! It's been a whole day since I did that. I've basically been up all night thinking of something to teach you. See? These dark circles are proof of my hard work," Wrath complained, pointing towards his glistening skin. "What a show-off," All of us thought at the same time. "For your information, I can hear you, and ouch, you guys are mean," Wrath frowned.

"But then, Gluttony comes and tells me to teach something completely different from what I originally thought, can you believe that?" Wrath continued complaining. Unexpectedly, a young demon (or demi-demon) raised her hand. Wrath looked over to her and acknowledged her. "I-I wanted to ask... w-what was y-your original topic t-to teach?" The girl asked. "Oh, I had thought of a 1v1 practical spar between me and you guys," Wrath innocently replied. Many more grunts followed the reply, as most of them were all riled up to fight Wrath, by hook or by crook.

On the other hand, I was grateful to Gluttony for his timely assistance. Blitz and I were now connected by an emotional line as well, and when he felt my thankfulness for such a dumb reason, he shook his head and began rethinking his choice of choosing me as his master. But then again, Murphy's Law didn't spare even the cutest familiar, why did I ever think it would spare me. "A-and what did G-Gluttony suggest?" The same girl inquired. "Yeah, he suggested a 4v1 practical match between me and the rest of you," Wrath sighed. This time, lesser grunts followed, since they were a little satisfied being able to spar with Wrath.

And as you probably guessed, yes, I was shit scared. My gratefulness towards Gluttony took a 180 degree turn and ran towards 'I'm gonna kill him' faster than you could say "Macaroni". Blitz picked up my feelings once again and decided to intervene. "Nyaaw~!" Blitz howled, trying to motivate me, and it worked, until I realized I knew no one here to make a team of 4, which broke me down once again. Everyone began going around and talking to each other and making groups.

Blitz wasn't gonna give up on me just yet, or he wouldn't live up to the name of a Purple-grade familiar. Plop! He jumped off my head and landed on the ground. He looked at me with his round puple eyes, and raised his paw, indicating the fact that I had him with me. "Yeah, looks like it's just you and me buddy, just you and me..." I murmured. "If you think we're gonna let you two fight that monster alone, you're dumber than you look," Sarah suddenly jumped out from the crowd, scaring the living daylights out of me, and Jason not too far behind.

"Hah! How are you here? Weren't you both in Pride's training?" I asked. "What? Do you think you're the only special chosen one that can be under more than 1 General?" Sarah instinctively snapped. "Whoa!" I leaned back a little. "I think he learnt his lesson," Jason suggested. The chances of all three of us being together for both the General's training session were, for a lack of a better term, astronomical, but I've been pretty lucky lately. Is it because I'm a MC or something? Probably not hehe...

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Yeah you! What's wrong?" Wrath acknowledged a handsome black-haired kid who had raised his hand. Of course, the handsome kid was me, the one and only. "Does a familiar count as a member?" I asked. Wrath quickly gazed over all of them, counting them one by one. "Well, since there are only 27 trainees here, you could go ahead and do exactly that," Wrath accepted. I bowed and turned around to face my team mates. I wore an evil grin on my face, and so did the others. Blitz had the same face, which was contrasting his usual cute and round face.

"You have a plan, don't you?" Jason inquired, as he recognized the look I had on my face. The last time I had it, he managed to turn tables and defeat Sarah with ease. "Some variables are still unstable, but with some more info on Wrath, I think we could win," I replied, my grin growing wider. "I'll be on the info gathering!" Sarah exclaimed and disappeared into the crowd. "Nyaaw~!" Blitz was excited to battle! But as of now, he had nothing to attack with; he was still a kid. "I need to teach him a little something, good thing I'm well-versed with anime and science. With just the right mixture, I'll make Blitz the strongest familiar, or at least strong enough to give Wrath trouble.

Little did we know, Wrath had an ace up his sleeve, something he was never forced to reveal, because he was somewhat unstoppable, but when he felt the battle intent flowing out from me, he grew wary of me, and knew he would have to use his 'ace' in their battle, but until then, he's going to watch how this unfolds.
