Chapter 28 - Chapter 27.5: THIS! IS! WAR!

//Ok... so I might have accidentally deleted the actual chapter that was between Chapter 27 and 28 like the idiot I was destined to be, so I'm placing this right in the middle. If you're normally reading this in order, just ignore it. There'll be a notice in the 30th chapter too, for those who're waiting for the next chapter.

Oh! And don't forget to support me using power stones :D\\

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Let's go!" I screamed and dashed forwards, empty-handed of course. Even if Blitz was a Purple-grade familiar, he was still just a pup who hatched a few hours ago. If I went all out, it would be like a blender fighting against an orange; the blender would blend the f*ck out of the poor orange.

"Nyaaw~!" Blitz began concentrating his purple lightning on his feet. He swiftly jumped aside and kept running around me, almost a blur to the naked eye. Blink once and he's to my left. Blink again and he's on my right. "Whoa! To think such a young pup is capable of something like this!" I praised. "Let's call it [Lightning Steps]," I suggested. "Awwwoooo~!" Blitz stopped howled in agreement.

Blitz charged at me once again, his paws covered with lightning, crackling, and threatening to make me go numb. I began dodging with my surrounding awareness, but his speed was still overwhelming. After a few dodges, I found an opening, burst my palm forward, hit Blitz square in the side, and sent him flying a few inches. Of course, I was wrong to think a Purple-grade would be defeated so easily.

What made Purple-grade familiars so unique and rare isn't only the power they have, but their unnerving intelligence. Green-grade familiars, being the most common, are also the weakest and dumbest of familiars. They can only do what their Master instructs and can't think for themselves. Red-grade familiars fare much better than Green-grade familiars. They are decently strong, and could easily take on two or three Green-grade familiars with their strength alone. They have enough intelligence to perform normal tasks on their own, such as biting, defending, evading, etcetera.

This is where Purple-grade familiars break the bar. They are strong enough to take on at least ten Red-grade familiars with their power alone. But what's more frightening, is the level of intelligence it possesses, which easily rivals that of humans, maybe even surpass them. Therefore Purple-grade familiars are so rare and are treated with utmost care.

Blitz quickly turned around, facing me, and then changed his trajectory completely, as if he jumped off something invisible, but all that remained was air. Unless...

Lightning can ionize the air around it, and if enough energy is present in the lightning bolt, it could create a chain reaction of electrons that collide into atoms, releasing any excess energy, but to be able to pull this off, just how much energy was this little pup exerting? "Arrgghh too much science! I need to focus on the battle." I thought to myself and focused on the battle ahead.

I caught Blitz by surprise, held him by his stomach, and evaded the attack. But Blitz somehow expected this and slid his paw down to my hand, and slightly grazed it, making my whole body go numb.

This isn't just a friendly spar to train anymore. THIS! IS! WAR!

{Blitz's POV}

Master is definitely strong, no question about that! To be able to just go numb from that graze is proof of his strength. With the amount of energy I was exerting, that graze should have fried him whole. When I first opened my eyes, everything was dark. When I reached out, I felt something hard that was covering me. I immediately realized that I wasn't born yet, but how was I able to see and feel already even if that was the case?

That's when I felt a warm feeling in my body as if my whole being was submerged in warm water. The feeling was great, and I knew this was magic that was being poured into me. I felt two slightly different flows of magic, and I happily absorbed every drop of both and showed no signs of stopping any time soon. After some time, I felt one of the flows of magic decrease a little and soon stopped flowing, but the other flow was more than enough to nurture me.

I could feel the magic surging through me, and yet I kept sucking the magic. Suddenly, a large number of pictures flashed past my mind, filling my mind with knowledge forcefully. After the first few pictures, I grasped the idea that these pictures were parts of my future Master's memories. I didn't know how this was happening, or if it was normal, but just like the magic power, I absorbed all the knowledge the pictures contained.

After the flurry of images finally ceased, my head was overflooded with different theories for how nature works that humans call 'Science', all the different fighting styles my future Master learned (unfortunately it was only theoretical), and some form of Japanese animation and books called 'Anime' and 'Manga' that my future Master adored and most of the images contained this. With all this knowledge, I began making different theories of my own, creating skills to use in battle so I can repay my future Master for providing me with nourishment and knowledge.

Coming back to the fight, even if his body did go numb, it would heal soon, but that buffer time is all I need. I quickly let out a huge barrage of flames onto the ground, hitting it and forcing purple smoke and all the dust to rise and block Master's view.

I then ran around, pulling lots of air into my lungs, and breathed out a huge swirling mess of purple flames and crackling electric sparks, which began clearing the smokescreen. When Master's face was stained with confusion and horror, I felt proud, but it quickly dissipated when I realized I might have gone too far and this might result in my Master's death!

As the smoke cleared, I found the fragile-looking sword lady standing before Master, her hands raised up in order to block the attack. Even though she looked fragile and delicate, to be able to block such an attack... looks like you really can't judge a book by its cover.

{Jay's POV}

Ok, this is getting ridiculous. If Faith hadn't stepped in to block that attack, I would have been toast, quite literally! This puts into perspective how much I rely on Faith in my battles. Just imagining myself in a life-or-death situation without Faith sends shivers down my spine. I looked at the overpowered Azar wolf pup, who was now breathing in huge bulks of air. With one glance, I knew Blitz had exhausted everything he had in store.

"You've done well Blitz! You're more than capable to hold your own. And those skills you used, wanna call them [Purple Smokescreen] and [Swirling Mess] respective to in which order you used it?" I suggested. "Awo~" Blitz howled but was too tired to continue the howl and fainted.

What a cutie (´▽`ʃ♡ƪ)
