{And we're back to Jay's POV}
Well, I knew I had f*cked up somewhere, just that I didn't know how I did it. Wrath stood there; his eyes glued on to me. Levigon was already trembling with anger, all that's holding him back is Wrath's hand. All he had to do was release the beast, and I'll be Levigon's dessert in no time.
Suddenly, I saw Wrath's puzzled look turn into a smile, and life returned to his eyes. "Looks like you win, kiddo," Wrath chuckled.
"..."
Everyone was silent.
"Is it just me or did he actually insult Wrath's upbringing?"
"Damn, I've heard rumors that his upbringing is a soft spot in his armor,"
"He probably just got really lucky,"
"Yeah, he's been getting way too lucky,"
Because my magic reserve recovered to 100%, by the mercy of [Full Restore], I could begin circulating it around my body, enhancing my senses, allowing me to hear the whispers between the crowds. Of course, I didn't know of this "soft spot" in Wrath's past, and I was sure I'd die if Wrath didn't have such a good tolerance. I don't know if this is just Lady Luck playing with me, but this is a very suspicious coincidence.
"D-do I get to choose to fight l-later?" I asked. Wrath looked amused and let out a laugh. "Not a chance. I know you touched upon my past on pure accident, but I have to punish you somehow," Wrath explained, his face twisting into an evil smirk. "How about s-some more time to p-prepare?" I stuttered.
"Nope~" Pride shook his head in denial.
"Now get your asses over here," Wrath motioned towards a raised circular stage. 'Was that there before? I'm sure that stage wasn't there before,' I thought to myself, but at this point, I've grown accustomed to weird stuff.
Sarah was armed with her elegant gladius, and Jason still rocking a shield but also had a short sword in his other hand. I had Faith in her sword form and put her in a scabbard Alex had personally ordered, made by a high-level bladesmith here in Hell. It was made from natural white leather, contrasting Faith's black metallic luster. It has small intricate designs that resembled golden vines. It felt good when held, and I could make out the texture of the scabbard by just grazing my hand over it.
Wrath walked over to the stage with a small bright orange flame dancing in his hand. He looked over to the opposite side, where we were standing, and gazed at the weapons we were holding. He let out a chuckle, and his flame began expanding, spreading horizontally until it slightly resembled a spear, with a sharp triangular tip, and a long flaming handle. The flames slowly compressed and began taking shape.
It looked solid, despite being made from compressed flames. It had a sleek look, and was bright orange, just like the flame.
"We'll begin whenever you're ready," Wrath challenged.
Faith began silent chanting buffs on the whole team, as we took a stance to begin. The second Faith was done, I nodded to the others, and pushed forward. I knew Wrath could easily see this coming, but as far as I understand [Layman's Foresight], it's only a feeble imitation of Levigon's ill-intent reading, so while he'd know how I'd attack him, he wouldn't know what chant I'll be using along with it.
With that interpretation in mind, I activated [Pyro Blades] and [Leeching Slashes] on Faith, and also set up Adam's [Life Leech] to ensure I go all out. It's a good thing the [Full Restore] chant is a thing, or I'd have been stuck at about 40% of my magic power, and that wouldn't have been pretty.
Wrath, unlike Pride, didn't underestimate us and went directly for the knockout. I couldn't see where his flaming spear went, and it slightly terrified me, but I tried to pull off some damage onto Wrath as Faith's blunt side crashed into his forearm. I saw Wrath go for a sneaky punch to my stomach, so I quickly took a few skips back, making him miss... or that's what it seemed. Wrath already knew this would happen and had already begun silent chanting since the beginning.
"[Heat Wave]!" Wrath yelled out and crunched his palms into a shape that resembled a tiger's open mouth. It kinda looked like the Kamehameha Wave from an anime I used to watch, and the resemblance grew as a bright red beam of fire spewed out of his palms, and directly towards my head. Suddenly, there was a huge explosion that stopped the fire beam of doom dead in its track.
"Master it worked!" Faith exclaimed through our mental link. Gosh, I can never get over that. What just happened, you ask? Adam, that's what happened. The weaker version of the invisible bomb chant that Adam was still more than enough to stop [Heat Wave] entirely. "How the fuck did Lucian even survive that?" I thought to myself as I took another shot at Wrath. I could feel, with every second, Wrath's strength being sapped and given to me with [Life Leech]. It's a pretty handy chant, thanks Adam!
Adam's POV:
"AACHOOOOO~!" Adam loudly sneezed, gaining weird looks from the demons that were healing all the burn wounds on his body. "Perhaps someone's thinking of me?" Adam thought as he looked out of the window of the room he was in.
Back to Jay's POV:
As I zoned in on Wrath, I saw him chanting, and this time I knew I wouldn't be that lucky with the bombs again because even I didn't know where the bombs were. I temporarily named it [Boom Boom], and yes, I know it's a weird name, but until I get the original stronger version of it, that name is going to stick. The bombs are spread randomly throughout the battlefield, and anyone except the caster's allies are blown to smithereens, so I didn't have to worry about anyone on my side getting hurt.
Seeing Wrath finishing his chant, I quickly deactivated my chants, excluding [Life Leech], and signaled towards Blitz, who immediately used [Purple Smokescreen] to disorient Wrath's senses, and then went for a [Swirling Mess] right after it. A large whirlwind of purple flames and lightning sparks flew into the smoke in the hopes of at least slightly burning Wrath and then began to clear the smoke. As the battlefield cleared, Wrath was nowhere to be seen.
But what was more prominent was Wrath's flaming spear, which had somehow split into 10 more spears, zoomed right towards Sarah and Jason, who were still chanting and getting ready to join the fight.
{Author's Note: All of what happened about was under the span of just 9-10 seconds, which is why Faith's ability to silent chant and keep chants ready for future use is pretty strong in battle because one wouldn't have to endanger themselves in a battle while chanting. Just felt like I wanted to clear that up and show how powerful the MC is, even without the plot armor lmao.}
