Chapter 25 - Chapter 25: Heaven-Defying Luck (*O*)

"Nyaaw?" A soft howl came out of the hollow egg. Then, a small black paw came out of the crack and slammed down on the eggshell, breaking all of it at once, revealing a wolf pup, but its fur and eyes were different from a normal wolf. The pup had big, bright purple eyes, a black and grey coat, with strands of purple all moving in one direction. "Achoo~!" The little cub sneezed, letting out a small purple flame and a few sparks around it. "Aww! It's so cute! I love it!" Lavender said as she tried hugging the wolf cub, but was stopped halfway by Dan. "You do realize that pup is a familiar right? What if it were to bite you, or worse, something unknown happens and we can't save you?" Dan advises. "Exactly, you can't just go around hugging things that are cute, especially in Hell, where anything could possibly kill you," I approved.

Orsino was stumped. Not only has this kid got a chance to train under all the 7 Generals, and knows Lord Lucifer's chants, but to be able to decrease the hatching time of a familiar from 5-6 days to a few hours is just stunning! And to think he didn't even faint when the daughter of Lord Lucifer herself fell to the ground! That would mean his magic reserves are astronomical! If he didn't see this with his own eyes, he would have never believed it. "Wait for a second..." Orsino leaned in closer and looked into its eyes, then looked at its coat. "This can't be..." Orsino drifted off. "This guy just has too much luck!" Orsino thought.

"What's wrong Orsino?" I asked, bewildered by his behavior. "L-look at its eyes... they're purple! IT'S A PURPLE-GRADE FAMILIAR!" Orsino yelled out in glee. "It is? I can't believe it! We hit the jackpot!" I yelled along with Orsino. I teared up from the excitement and happiness. "So Orsino, where's that cow fart and lava pool? Let's rub some clouds together and get ourselves some lightning too, huh?" I joked. "Shhhut up, you cheeeat!" Orsino could barely put those words together as he himself was laughing at his own stupid comment.

"How long was I out-" Alex woke up in a daze but immediately straightened up when her gaze fell upon the cute little pup, innocently looking at the commotion without a care in the world. "Aww, it's the cutest familiar I've seen! And I've seen Greed's little unicorn! That's saying something!" Alex squealed. "Greed's little unico- I'm not even going to ask," I sighed. I expected her to freak out that the pup is a Purple-grade, yet she succumbed to female nature. "So, it turned out to be a Purple-grade huh? Probably because my magic was poured into it!" Dan said and puffed his chest out in pride. "Hehe, yeah it's because of us!" Lavender added. "Sure, sure! Take the credit, but I'm naming it-" I stopped midway, and looked at the wolf.

To name something, you need to be friendly with it. You can't just randomly name something you aren't familiar with (Pun intended). "Hey, little pup! I'm Jay, it's nice to meet you," I slowly introduced myself as I brought forth my hand. I tried to be as gentle as possible and let it smell my hand first. "Nyaaw~?" The wolf pup quietly howled, as if to say it didn't have a name to introduce. The pup slowly walked over towards my hand and began sniffing. "Nyaaww!" The wolf pup howled in glee! "It seems to like me," I mentioned as the wolf pup began licking my fingers. "You might want to be careful-" Alex warned, but it was too late.

The wolf pup blew on my hand, releasing a tiny purple spark towards my finger, which was covered with drool, which could conduct electricity better. I tried to escape, but I was already too close to it. Zap! "Yikes!" I cried out in pain and annoyance. It wasn't much, but the fear of getting electrocuted caused me to cry out. The wolf pup fell over giggling and smiling at its brilliant prank. "Seems we have another troublemaker besides you," Lavender joked.

"So, this Azar Wolf has a Lightning attribute as well? That's surprising," Alex looked at the pup with awe. "So he was able to hatch a familiar egg in a few hours, feed it enough energy for it to become a Purple-grade Azar Wolf, and it has a Lightning attribute along with its Fire attribute?" Orsino gasped. "Tell me the truth, Brother Jay, did you sleep with Lady Luck or something? Did you bribe Fate? Tell me your secrets," Orsino desperately asked.

"I expected a Green-grade or a Red-grade, because those were the most dots on that egg," I stated. "Dots? What dots?" Orsino asked, looking at the broken eggshells. "The number of purple dots on the shells was increasing when I poured almost all my magic in it. You really couldn't see those dots? " I asked in bewilderment. "Looks you're blessed, or to be specific, cursed with the Grade Seeking Eye," Alex sighed. "That's it! Tell me where you've tied up Lady Luck! Is she in your basement? I can give her a better time than you," Orsino began hyperventilating. Witnessing such heaven-defying luck on a single day could make any sane person go mad.

"I've come up with an amazing name!" I exclaimed, breaking the awkward silence that prevailed for a few minutes. We confirmed that the wolf pup was a male pup, so we needed a name fit for a badass alpha male. All of us sat in our respective spots in the waiting room, brainstorming for a name. Even the little wolf pup was looking tense as if it also was thinking of a name. "Please don't make us pick a finger again," Lavender sighed. Dan nodded in agreement. "I'm not going to do that," I stated. "Since he has a lighting attribute as well, I thought of 'Blitz'," I suggested. "It's cute, and it fits him perfectly!" I added. "Nyaaw~!" The wolf pup leaped with happiness as if he was happy with the name.

"Well, as long as he's happy," Orsino replied. "It's decided then! Little pup, your name is now Blitz!" I exclaimed.

*Whish* *Whish*

Blitz wagged his tail with excitement and looked cuter than before in the process. "Well, we still have a lot of time before Wrath's training session. Let's bound Blitz to you to officially make him your familiar," Alex instructed. "And how do I do that? Another blood pact thing?" I asked. "Exactly! All you have to do is cut your pinky, infuse the blood that comes out with your magic, and let your familiar ingest it," Alex explained. "As easy as before," I murmured to myself as I bit my pinky, letting out a small sphere of blood from the small wound.

My magic reserves were continuously regenerating, so they increased by 14% during the break, having a total of 15% of my magic. But it was enough for this pact. I dragged out 1% of the magic from my tongue and fused it with the blood. Blitz immediately saw the accumulation of magic in my blood, and came closer, waiting to lick the blood off my pinky. "It's ready," I steadied my hand and brought it close to Blitz. "Nyaaow~?" Blitz looked impatiently, asking for permission to lick the blood. "Go ahead," I smiled. "Nyaaw~!" Blitz happily began licking the blood.

"So that was it?" I asked. "Yeah, that was basically it. Now Blitz will always come back to you when you call him and listen obediently to your every wish or command, and he has registered you as his master and thus, won't attack you," Orsino explained. "Let's get a move on, or Wrath won't be pleased if you're late," Alex warned. "Got it!" I exclaimed as I picked up Blitz in my arms. "Nyaaww~!" Blitz howled and began climbing on me as if he was climbing a steep mountain. He reached the top of my head and made himself comfortable in my black and curly hair.
