Chapter 26 - CHAPTER 25: THE CONFRONTATION.

"So.... Miss Wade is under suspension." Neil thought as he walk through the hall way.

The day has been bad for the other students... They all seemed sad, especially Chiyo who wept all through the segment.

"This is all our fault... Actually..." Neil thought. "This is my fault... I shouldn't have told her to do what her heart wanted.... And now...."

The last word of Mr Black rang in his head. "Retired."

Neil rubbed his golden hair with both hands... Vigorously. He stopped walking for a while and looked above him, he was past his dormitory and few blocks away from the principal's office.

"What do I do now." Neil thought. "Should I go to Prof. Hiro's office.... Or head back to my dorm?"

"This shouldn't been happening to me." Neil sighed. "But now that am here... I have to enquire what is going on."

He walked into the office and met the pretty lady from before.. She looked gorgeous in her silk suit, and her bun rolled hair. She seem busy with her computer as her finger ran through the keyboard vigorously.

"How may I help you." She spoke without lifting her head.

"Am.... Here... To see Prof. Hiro." Neil swallowed. "It's urgent."

"I see...." She smiled. "On who's name?"

"Neil..." He spoke. "Neil Randolf."

"Well..... Let me inform him." She smiled again.

She picked up her telephone in a majestical gesture, pressed some buttons before placing it close to her ears,

All the gesture Neil watched in awe. He doesn't know if he is amazed or irritated.

"Someone's here to see you sir." She spoke. "His name is Neil Randolf."

Silence

"Okay sir." She dropped the phone. "You're up."

"Thank you." Neil spoke and headed towards Prof. Hiro's office.

"And be cautious.." She added. "But speak your heart... You might find favour."

"Thanks." Neil looked back and smiled.

He moved towards the door and some how with confidence he was able to open the door with courage..

"Where did it come from?" He asked himself

She smiled and shook her head before staring at the computer again.. To finish of the work of the day.

KNOCK KNOCK

"Who's there." Prof. Hiro asked.

"It's Neil sir." The voice rang out.

"Come on in." Prof. Hiro added and continued with his file.

Neil opened slowly before coming into the office and stood at the door way after he shuts the door. Prof. Hiro was still going through his file and didn't notice Neil was still standing by the door.

After some seconds he lifted up his eyes and saw him still standing by the door way.

"Please... Have a seat." He gestured for Neil to sit.

Neil walked to the chair and sat.

"It came to my notice you had something important to discuss with me." Prof. Hiro interlock his fingers. "What is it?"

"Sir..... I...." Neil babbled. "It's about my friends sir."

"And what about them?" He asked

"Well.... They... Are sad sir!" Neil spoke... Finding his voice again.

"And why is that so." Prof. Hiro asked.

Neil sighed

"It came to our notice that you suspended our class teacher..." Neil spoke boldly. "And not just that... You retired her...."

"And what if I did." Prof. Hiro asked instantly.

Silence.

"So I came to find out why.... Sir." Neil finished

Silence.

The pressure in the room was becoming tense and Neil could feel it, he knows he will win the favour of sending everyone in his class to suspension.. But he knows he has to do something about this issue.

Because he knows everyone is blaming him for what has happens to their teacher. Or maybe not..... Who cares what they say.

All he knows is that he has to get this thing off his chest and that is final.

No going back.

"I see." Prof. Hiro drew his face close to his arm. "And what make you think I can renounce my statement about your teacher who risked the lives of four kids without thinking things through..."

"It wasn't her decision..." Neil cuts him short. "It was my decision... It was I who made her do it in the first place..... And..."

"She had been having that thoughts ever since I told her a student was missing." Prof. Hiro shouted.

"And she was willing to take the risk of finding him when no one else did try to do anything about it." Neil shouted back.

Both looked each other eye balls to eye balls.

"We were planning on doing something about it." Prof. Hiro spoke.

"And how long would it have taken?" Neil asked. "Two days... One week.... A month..... He would have been dead already."

"But you all are too young to face the outside world." Prof. Hiro added. "At least not all of you."

"Well what if the outside world did come against us... What would be our fate." Neil asked.

Silence.

"Wait till some batallions would come to our rescue." Neil added. "Or we stand to fight... I know what she did was careless but she cared more than anyone in this entire school."

"Am still not going to change my mind." Prof. Hiro looked away

"That is not your decision to make... Sir." Neil punched the desk.

"And since when did you become arrogant?." He asked.

"Since the time you made my classmate... No..... My team sad." Neil spoke with hushed voice. "They are sad because the only person who understand them is no more and you think they will accept that fate..."

"Am doing what is best for my student and that is my only priority." Prof. Hiro spoke.

"And that includes destroying their happiness." Neil yelled. "Their trust.."

"I have heard enough." Prof. Hiro yelled banging his fist on the table. "You may leave now."

Silence.

Neil stood up and walked towards the door, stopped and turned to stare at Prof. Hiro

"If we end up becoming the world's next problem.... Know that it's your fault." Neil spoke hushly. "Because we are becoming a monster in your making."

With those words he shut the door, Prof. Hiro's mouth was agape for a while before he sighed. He placed his interlocked fingers to his mouth in deep thought.

"He's just like you." Prof. Hiro thought. "If only if you were here to see someone who's following your footsteps."

Neil came out of the secretary's office and sighed heavily with his eyes closed.. But.

"Where did all this come from." Neil thought. "How did I become this bold to speak to my elders."

Neil walked towards his dormitory slowly and he felt like the burden was increased in his heart.... It felt heavy.

He was expecting a good result but turned out to be a disappointment at the later run. And it saddened him the more.

"Hey yo." Sandy yelled trying to catch up with Neil. "Where have you been? Been looking for you eh."

"I....." Neil sighed.

"Huh..... I can't hear you eh." Sandy placed hands on his ears like it would amplify the whisper.

"It's nothing." Neil walked away. "And I would like to be alone."

"You know that's impossible mate." Sandy jogged over Neil.

"I see." Neil smiled.

"Don't forget we're brothers." Sandy tapped Neil's shoulder.

"Yeah sure." Neil replied.

"Well... Where are we headed." Sandy asked.

"The garden... I need to think." Neil replied.

"Good spot to think eh." Sandy ran towards the garden's direction.

"Yeah...." Neil sighed. "I wonder how they are feeling?"

Neil stared at the sun for a while, it was a warm evening and the sun seemed to be dull in exposure. He smiled before he head towards the garden.

Neil was walking towards the garden when he passed through the telephone center... It was of the school's telephone which is used on important issues.... He guessed.

He wanted to make use of it because he had lost his phone on the mission, and all that remained is pieces of the phone. But the card seemed okay but he has no phone. He walked close to it to inspect it, he took the telephone.

Well he should just pass by. Besides he has nothing to say anyways and not that Nara has a phone or something. If she had, he would have called her everyday but since she doesn't... It's best he shouldn't call.

He walked away from the phone and stared at it for a while before he walked towards the garden with fingers in his pocket and head bowed, buried in thoughts of the while situation.

"Well let's see the outcome of all that has happened." Neil thought. "What will be our fate now?"

Neil saw Kai with some of his friends who seemed to be fond of him as they swarm around him like flies over spillage. Seems they're all happy to see he's fine and okay, Neil smiled as he saw Kai had a happy face like he had missed them too. Kai turned and saw Neil staring at him, he nodded and Neil returned the favour.

And continued his journey with haste for he knew that sandy was going to kill him anyways for being late. And that is one thing he is not ready for.... The long ranting noise of Sandy's voice.
