Chapter 28 - CHAPTER 27: THE FESTIVAL AT LAST.

Neil sat at a corner of the park observing the environment and the crowds all pulling into the center like a large swarm of bees looking for their honeys.

"So this is the place we're gonna be playing our roles?" Sandy bellowed.

"Yeah." Neil sluggishly answered. "This is it."

"Facing the crowd would be a problem of course." Sandy smirked. "Especially her."

He pointed towards Delia who stood few meters away as she slowly moved into the park, her scarf swaying to the direction of the winds.

Her hair too, moved to the direction of the wind as they part ways to show off her face. She pushed it aside with her fingers and stared at Neil who was looking like a dummy

"And what are you staring at?" Sandy asked.

He turned to see what Neil was looking at.

"Oh... I see." He grinned widely. "So you're tripping ehn?

"I wish I know what you're saying." Neil walked away.

"Someone's in love " Sandy danced. "And refuse to admit it."

"Shut up... Go get ready." Neil turned around. "We've got work to do you know."

"Neilly has a girlfriend..... Neilly has girlfriend." Sandy continued behind Neil.

.

.

It was sunset as everyone was on their way to the bus after a long day of vicious work, the students walked tiredly toward their transport back to school.

"Neil...." Sandy held his stomach in frown. "Remind me never to break any more rules."

"With pleasure." Neil grunted.

He too had reached his limit too playing the magician in the museum park, playing silly tricks with the kids and sometimes using his powers so as he doesn't mess up the excitement.... Although he enjoyed it, at least to see the smile in the face of the kids was overwhelming that he forgot he was a student and...

"Neil..." Sandy yelled. "Are you even listening."

"Huh." Was the reply.

"You've got to be kidding right now." Sandy bellowed. "What were you thinking about?"

"Nothing." Neil instantly.

"Are you sure." Sandy got close to Neil and stared at him in the face. "Or are you thinking about her."

"Who?" Neil looked puzzled.

"I wouldn't say it if I were you." Rory warned.

"De...." Sandy began.

"I will shove a large scale of ice into your anus..." Delia walked past them. "If my name comes off that mouth of yours..."

"Busted." Rory chuckled.

Both of them stared at her with fear on their faces as if they saw a dead person walk towards them.

"Got it?" Delia asked.

"Noted..." Both nodded as they replied. "Crystal clear."

Delia walked away with her ice-cream apron with a little difficulty but she manage to make it less noticed by everyone. Although her voice may seemed like a whisper to the ears but her threats suddenly becomes amplified by the winds itself that it send cold chill into the spine of her opponents

"Get used to it." Jade spoke as she approach the boys. "She's off the edge today."

"Yeah." Sandy gasped.

Silence.

"And Rory..." Sandy called out.

"Yeah." Rory replied.

"Promise to warn me every time she's around." Sandy choked. "Before I say anything that will earn me a death sentence."

"Noted." Rory nodded.

Sandy continued his awkward slow movement towards the bus as if he was spying on someone and stood by the door, his dress code was supposed to be a clown but instead he put's on a casino worker's outfit.

Jade walked gracefully towards the bus with her princess gown... Lucky them.... Unlike Neil and some other's who's costume was worse than normal.

"Uncle..." Chiyo called as she grabbed Neil's hands. "Let's get going."

Neil looked at her in her princess costume, tiredness written all over her face but above all that she's still looked cute in it and that made Neil smile. He bent over and placed her on his body as she placed her head on his shoulders, Neil although tired himself give his best shot on making sure he doesn't make her uncomfortable.

"Awwwn...."

"Huh." Neil turned to see Zoe walking close to him with her arms folded behind her.

"Seems Chiyo has finally chosen to trust you." She smiled with flirt written in her eyes. "Seems I could trust you too."

"Ummm .." Neil looked dumbfounded. "Trusted me... With what?"

"You silly boy.." She laughed. "My heart of course."

"You've got to be joking." Neil thought as he stared at her.

"And why that stare cowboy?" She asked lifting her eyelashes.

Neil was about to respond when a soft snore made him stop, he twisted his head a little to see Chiyo has gone sound asleep. He smiled for she kinda reminded him of Nara whom will be feeling lonely right now, for she never leaves his side no matter the consequences... Except if she wants to take her bath ofcourse.

Neil gently walked towards the bus as tears of joy welled up his eyes, he doesn't even know why but he's just happy.

"Seems someone is gonna make a good father." Zoe teased.

"Ofcourse...." He smiled.

"Don't you worry..." Zoe chuckled. "We will have kids soon..... You and I."

"Yeah..." Neil answered without listening to the last part.

He walked for few seconds before his head suddenly went bright red, as he recollected her last statement.

"Ummmmm.... Zoe." Neil babbled. "That was an expensive joke.. Stop making them please."

"Why would I?" Zoe walked past him. "Seems you've have forgotten I told you that you have earned my hearts trust."

"Don't be silly you flirty pervert." Neil thought as his head blew of steams.

"Ummmm..." Zoe stepped really close to Neil that he could feel her breath. "Are you okay?"

"Do me a favor and stop flirting with me." Neil spoke without thinking.

"Oh really." She drew even nearer. "How's this phenomenon we're having flirting."

"It's flirting because you're pushing your boobs on me." Neil ran off and hopped into the bus without stopping.

"Huh." Zoe remarked.

Rory and Ned who had been watching the whole scenario began to chuckle as Zoe looked at them with smile on her face.

"I guess someone hasn't fallen for your spell for the first time." Ned teased.

"Wow... I can't believe it that you havr been rejected even with your beauty."

"That doesn't mean I won't get him." Zoe smiled. "And this one is going to be fun."

.

Neil placed Chiyo on a double chair that could accommodate her little body, she moved and held her teddy tightly. Neil sighed heavily and turned to leave only to feel his fingers are already held by Chiyo, even though she was asleep.

"She wants you to stay close to her." Freda spoke.

"Huh..." Neil looked at her.

"Chiyo likes to sleep close to someone." Freda looked outside the bus. "She hates being lonely."

"I see." Was all Neil could mutter.

He sat down close to Chiyo and placed her head in his laps and began to run his fingers through her hair, Freda stared with amusement as smile spread across her face. Neil lifted his head to meet Freda's gaze but she immediately turned her face away from Neil.

"Seems you've become a daddy now aye?" Sandy teased. "Now tell me... Who's the mother?"

"The mother is the mother." Neil smiled.

"Huh." Sandy looks at Neil.

"Sandy...!" Freda called out.

"Yes?" Sandy turned towards at Freda

"Go get a seat now." Freda commanded.

Sandy looked at Freda and saw her eyes were not friendly, with fear he walked briskly to a seat and sat down without even looking back. Neil stiffened a laugh so as not to get into trouble with Sandy later the day.

The whole day has been one hell of a problem, and most of it makes Neil smile alot. Sandy getting in trouble with a man who said he cheated, Clint making lovers quarrel because he used his flirting technics; and Delia on the other hand froze a man's hand on her ice cream table.

Neil turned around to see Delia staring outside in her usual emotionless expression.

"Delia...." Neil telepaths.

Silence

"Are you there?"

"Get it over with already." Delia replied.

"Seriously...?" Neil looked at her. "Not cool Delia..... Not cool."

Delia looked at Neil for a while with the same expression on her face.

"Suit yourself." Delia looked away again

Silence.

"Why did you freeze that man's fingers?" Neil telepaths.

"None of your business.!" Was the reply.

"You think I can't find out my own way." Neil asked.

"Give it a shot..." She looked at Neil. "I dare you."

Both of them entered a staring contest for a while and it was getting obvious, Neil had no other choice but divert his eyes.

"Just as I figured." Delia retorted. "All bark and no bite."

"Unlike you." Neil replied. "Am not cold to those who tried to get close to me."

"And who are you to judge me?" Delia asked.

"You may have had a bad past." Neil looked at her. "But that doesn't mean you have to turn your back on everybody else."

They stared at each other for a little while then Delia looked away, Neil dropped his eyes to the ground.

"It's destined unto us gifted to meet a bad past." Neil telepaths. "But dwelling on it for long would be a dire to life."

Silence.

"Meaning." Delia asked.

"Well.... I too had a bad past." Neil smiled and looked towards the door. "But I don't dwell too much on them so I don't go bizarre tomorrow."

"And how did you let go?" Delia asked.

"I didn't push people away." Neil answered. "I let them in."

Neil closed his eyes and exhaled heavily.... Delia on the hand had been staring at Neil before she looked outside the window and watched as trees zoomed past her vision.

"Letting people in you say." She thought. "If only it was possible."

Neil opened his eyes for a while and shut them again, he knew it would be possible for Delia to finally open up to everyone around her.... If only she tries.

And he slowly and cheerfully drifted off to sleep as the bus moved gently on the road, the moon shined brightly that night and Neil could feel the chills even in his sleep.
