ALEX'S POV
"Can I please watch a scary movie with you guys? Please!" I begged my Mom as her, Maddie, and Dallas were making popcorn. They were going to be watching a scary movie together and I wanted to join.
"Come on, Dems. She's fourteen now. I say we let her. If she gets scared, she'll tell us. Right, Alex?" Dallas asked, looking at me.
"Yes! I promise! I don't want to watch Dirty Dancing with Grandma and Grandpa again!" I pleaded as I held onto Mom's arm.
"I guess. You're sitting by me the whole time AND eating some popcorn." She compromised as she agreed to let me watch with them.
"Thank you!" I squealed as I hugged her. "Let me go grab Mr. Sheep!" I ran upstairs to grab him. I had Mr. Sheep for as long as I could remember. I don't go anywhere without him, especially if Mom isn't going to be there. He smells like her sometimes and when she's isn't there, he reminds me that everything is going to be okay just like she does.
"How does my daughter make sweatpants and a sweatshirt look cute?" Mom asked as I posed for a picture. She sent it to me and I saved the photo. I posted it on Instagram because I really liked it.
"Mom.." I tugged on her hoodie as Dallas started playing the movie.
"Alex? What's wrong?" She asked. I showed her the comments and she had a look of anger and sadness in her eyes. She held me close so her and I were cuddling. "I love you, baby girl."
"I love you too." I smiled as I looked up at her.
"Shh! It's starting!" Maddie yelled excitedly.
"I was having a moment with my daughter!" Demi laughed.
"But the movie is starting!" Maddie laughed while looking at us.
"She has a good point, Dems." Dallas said casually. "Now shush!"
The movie didn't start off scary. Apparently we were watching The Conjuring. I'll give you a run down on what it's about. So.. it takes place in 1970, paranormal investigators and demonologists Lorraine and Ed Warren are summoned to the home of Carolyn and Roger Perron. The Perrons and their five daughters have recently moved into a secluded farmhouse, where a supernatural presence has made itself known. Though the manifestations are relatively benign at first, events soon escalate in horrifying fashion, especially after the Warrens discover the house's macabre history. (Stole this from google.. shhh)
There was this one scene where there was some type of creature on top of the wardrobe. It was a jump scare. Let's just say, it didn't end well.
"MOMMY!" I screamed as I jumped and held onto her. Maddie started laughing. "M-Make it stop!" I cried.
"Guys! Turn it off!" Mom exclaimed to Maddie and Dallas. "It's okay, baby. It's just a movie. It isn't real. Mommy's here." She picked me up and placed me on her hip. She walked around the room like some people do with crying toddlers.
"D-Don't let them hurt me!" I screamed as my breathing quickened. Mom ran upstairs with me in her arms and ran into our room. She put me on the bed and I saw through blurry vision that she took off her shirt.
"It's okay, baby girl. You're safe. It's just a movie. Mommy's here." She cooed quietly as she held me in her embrace.
DEMI'S POV
I ran upstairs into our room, with Alex in my arms. I placed her on our bed and quickly took off my shirt, which was the first thing I could think off, which was skin to skin contact. I grabbed her inhaler off my bedside table and laid down with her on the bed.
"It's okay, baby girl. You're safe. It's just a movie. Mommy's here." I cooed gently as I held her. I held the inhaler in her mouth. "Come on. Deep breaths.. good job. You're doing great, baby." I whispered as I played with her hair. I noticed she fell asleep, but who could blame her. It's 10:00 PM and panic attacks are exhausting. I took a picture of her sleeping (without getting me half naked in the frame). I posted it on Instagram.
@ddlovato - My precious little baby ❤️
I slowly stood up off the bed, so I didn't wake her up. I put a shirt back on, along with some pajama pants. We go back on tour tomorrow and I'm going to miss everyone. I never did see them often before the tour, but I was not busy and able to FaceTime them anytime I wanted to. I went to my parents room and knocked on the door.
"Come in!" I heard my Mom's muffled voice.
"Hey, Mama and Eddie." I smiled as I walked in.
"Hey, baby girl. Is Alex better? Maddie told me what happened." Mom said worriedly.
"She's fine.. she's asleep right now. I wanted to come say goodnight to you guys, and that I love you. Thank you for letting us stay till we got everything figured out." I smiled as I hugged both of them.
"It's not a problem. We love you both. Now, go get some sleep. You need it." Eddie said. I nodded and walked out their door. I laid down in our bed.
"I love you, baby girl." I whispered as I looked over at a peaceful, sleeping Alex. I kissed her forehead before I drifted off to sleep myself.
