Chapter 21 - 21

ALEX'S POV

"Alex! It's time to go!" Mom shouted. The thing is I was in the same room as her.

"Mom! I'm in the same room as you!" I mocked sassily. We both broke out into laughter. I managed to write another song before the concert, which Mom doesn't even know about. I plan on surprising everyone with it.

"You'll be there an hour after us right?" Mom asked Grandma and Grandpa before we walked out the door.

"Of course! We wouldn't miss it and we wouldn't miss an opportunity to see our grand baby sing just like her Mama!" Grandma cooed and I blushed in embarrassment.

The ride took about 30 minutes to get to the stage we're singing at. It also took a lot of effort for my mom to get me to eat an apple. I didn't have a choice.

"Mom! I need your guitar for one of my songs. Please!" I smiled and giggled. She went to her dressing room to get her guitar and gave it to me when she came back. I ran out on the stage while everyone cheered.

"Hello Dallas, Texas! Also I guess Aunt Dallas too!" I laughed. "Are y'all ready for tonight?!" I asked as my country accent came out. "Holy shit! My accent just came out! I'm here for a week and I'm full on cowgirl!"

"Language, Alexis!" Mom shouted from backstage.

"Demetria!" I smirked. Everyone laughed. "This first song, no one heard it. Not even my Mom. Everyone here is going to hear it for the first time." I smiled at everyone.

Oh yeah,

La da a da

Don't get me wrong,

I love who I am

I don't wanna be ungrateful

It probably sounds strange

I really love the role I play

The songs I sing

But with all the fame

The things that seem so simple

Suddenly, so far out of reach

Wish that they could see

That underneath

I'm just an ordinary girl!

Sometimes I'm lazy

I get bored, I get scared,

I feel ignored, I feel happy

I get silly, I choke on my own words.

I make wishes, I have dreams,

And I still want to believe,

Anything can happen in this world

For an ordinary girl!

Like you like me

For an ordinary girl

Like you like me

How are you?

Hello, goodbye

One day here,

One day there

And again it's time to go

Miss popular always on the road

Put my best foot forward

Gotta get on with the show

Strike a pose for the front

Cover of a magazine

Everywhere, I arrive I get

High five's

They paint me larger than life

Yeah!

I'm just an ordinary girl!

Sometimes I'm lazy

I get bored, I get scared,

I feel ignored, I feel happy (yeah)

I get silly, I choke on my own words.

I make wishes, I have dreams,

And I still want to believe

Anything can happen in this world

For an ordinary girl!

So give it everything

Or nothin' at all

Get back on your feet

When you stumble and fall

A little luck can go a long way

So don't you worry about

What people say

Who knows where the wind may blow

For an ordinary girl

Mmm

I'm just an ordinary girl!

Sometimes I'm lazy

I get bored, I get scared,

I feel ignored, I feel happy

I get silly, I choke on my own words.

I make wishes, I have dreams,

And I still want to believe,

Anything can happen in this world

For an ordinary girl!

Like you like me (yeah!)

For an ordinary girl

Like you like me

For an ordinary girl

Mmm

For an ordinary girl

Like me, like you

I was smiling nonstop when I finished the first song. I looked over at Mom backstage and she gave me a thumbs up.

"This next song.. is a little emotional.. I was going to wait with this one, but the media doesn't know personal space." I told everyone through the microphone.

Father, I'm gonna say thank you

Even if I'm still hurt

Oh, I'm gonna say bless you

I wanna mean those words

Always wished you the best

I, I prayed for your peace

Even if you started this

This whole war in me

You did your best or did you?

Sometimes I think I hate you

I'm sorry, dad, for feelin' this

I can't believe I'm sayin' it

I know you were a troubled man

I know you never got the chance

To be yourself, to be your best

I hope that someone will give you

A second chance

I was starting to choke up on stage while singing and my voice was barely audible. I saw Mom come out on stage, holding a microphone. She joined in on the second verse with me.

Father, I'm gonna say thank you

Even if I don't understand

Oh, you left us alone

I guess that made me who I am

Always wished you the best

I, I, I pray for your peace

Even if you started this

This whole war in me

You did your best or did you?

Sometimes I think I hate you

I'm sorry, dad, for feelin' this

I can't believe I'm sayin' it

I know you were a troubled man

I know you never got the chance

To be yourself, to be your best

I hope that someone will give you

You did your best or did you?

Sometimes I think I hate you

I'm sorry, dad, for feelin' this

I can't believe I'm sayin' it

I know you were a troubled man

I know you never got the chance

To be yourself, to be your best

I hope that someone will give you

A second chance

"Thank you guys! I love y'all!" I smiled and blew air kisses. I quickly hugged Mom and thanked her and she kissed my head.

"Alex! You did great, bug!" Dallas ran up to me, picked me up, and spun around with me in her arms. Maddie was the next one to engulf me in a hug.

"If you're all trying to kill me, it's working!" I laughed as they all hugged me tightly.

"We're just so proud of you!" Dallas pinched my cheeks, acting like an old lady.

"Dallas, did you bring the glitter gun and the silly string?" I asked eagerly. Why would we need that stuff? We want to prank my Mom during her last song, which is Cool For The Summer. As soon as she sings the last line, I'm going to run out with the glitter gun while Dallas and Maddie run out with the silly string. It's going to be war basically.

Many, many, many songs later. Maybe not that many, she finally made it to the last song.

"You guys ready?" I smirked evilly.

"Are you the devil's child? Oh wait, you're Demi's child." Dallas joked.

"We're cool for the summer!" Mom finished singing her song.

"Go!" I screamed as we ran out. Dallas and Maddie sprayed her with silly string and I shot the glitter gun at her.

"You little fuckers!" Mom laughed as she grabbed a hold of some silly string and started chasing us.

"Language, Demetria!" I joked as she chased me.

"What's going on?" Max asked as we were still getting chased backstage.

"We're having fun together!" Mom said as I got backed into a corner by her, which instantly brought some flashbacks.

- FLASHBACK/TRIGGER WARNING -

"Aaron? W-Why are you here?" I asked nervously. He pushed me onto the couch in my dressing room.

"I always wanted to do this." His breath reeked of alcohol. He unzipped his pants and pulled them down revealing his dick. "Come on, baby. Get undressed for me." He got close to me.

"N-No.." I whispered and tried to get away. He grabbed my wrist and pulled me closer to him.

"Oh, yes! We're going to have fun together." He said sexually as he pulled my clothes off of me. I screamed and tried kicking at him. It didn't work. He shoved his dick inside my vagina and pulled out quickly. He kept doing this. I screamed in pain as he kept going.

"S-Stop!" I screamed as I was uncontrollably sobbing. "H-Help!"

"Shut up you little slut!" He smacked me. I heard a knock on the door.

"Alex?!"

- FLASHBACK/TRIGGER WARNING OVER -

"Alex? Alex?! Look at me! Focus on me, baby girl!" I heard as I opened my eyes and saw my Mom's eyes. Her eyes had the expression of worry. She gently removed my hands from my ears.

"M-Mom? Is Aaron g-gone?" I choked out. She held me close to her and rubbed gentle circles on my back.

"He's not here, baby girl. He'll never get close to you if I have a say in it. We'll make sure he gets what he deserves tomorrow in court. As long as I'm here, or as long as Max, Maddie, Dallas, Grandma, or Grandpa are here, he's not going to touch you." She spoke calmly. My breathing still wasn't normal.

"I.. Inhaler?" I asked quietly. I saw Dallas run into Mom's dressing room as she came out with it.

"Good girl. Deep breathes, baby." Mom spoke quietly and she started humming.

"I.. I'm sorry I ruined our fun.." I told her as she picked me up and placed her on her hip.

"You didn't ruin it. It's not your fault.. you can't control it." She said as we got in the back of our car. "Try and get some sleep, baby girl." Mom cooed as I felt her nails massage my scalp.

"Goodnight, Mommy." I mumbled before I fell asleep.
