The 'Devil's Playground' is exactly what I hoped it wouldn't be.
There are people everywhere some drunk and around our age, but the majority being mid-Thirties to middle-aged men, each of them sporting a younger woman on one arm and a large wad of cash in the other.
In the centre of the open space was the early sixties-inspired boxing ring, that's been decked out and fitted with a large, fully enclosed black cage.
Dread was coursing through my body at the familiarity of this.
At every entrance, they were a booth with a teller taking bets.
The air was heavy with sweat and mist spreading out of a rusty smoke machine in the corner, and barely anything could be heard over the low hum of hundreds of excited people.
I scanned my head around searching for Hunter in the ocean of People, but to no avail.
"Listen 'ere folks! The betting station is closing in five minutes! To get the cash flowing, make it count!"
My blood ran cold, I whipped my head around in the direction of that voice, my heart jumping to my throat. Billy, shit.
I knew right at that moment that this was going to be trouble.
I looked over to where Callie was only to find both her and Andy gone, groaning, I make my way over to the ring awaiting for Billy to release the identities of the opponents.
As if he was listening to me, he silenced the crowd once more yelling.
"I think yous wanna know who tonight's fighters are am I right!" Billy yells at the crowd, who all respectively reply back with a chorus of yeah's and yes's.
"Tonight ladies and gents, we have pro-UFC fighter Brodie Marrews!"
I have to say, Billy's always had a flair for the dramatics.
His hands start flailing around, "men!" I hear him shout, "hide y'all bitches. Ladies drop your panties! It's my pleasure to introduce to you a crowd favourite here, 'Playground's' very own huntsman! Ladykiller! And overall scary, badass motherfucker! Hunter Woods!"
Screams erupted from the crowds, mostly the women as Hunter strolled out of one of the back rooms and into this one, shirtless, his ripped torso and colourful tattoos on full display.
My favourite mischievous smirk playing on his lips.
"Enter the cage, men!"
Once they were settled, one at either end of the ring, I hurriedly pushed my way through, over to Hunters corner.
I was startled to a stop by a loud mechanical clinking as the cage lowered down over the ring, trapping Hunter and Brodie inside.
Billy began walking through the crowds yelling out the rules.
I prayed that he wouldn't come close enough to recognise me.
"Okay, okay. Settle down!" His loud voice carrying around authority, silencing the entire room. "Y'all know the rules, but just encase I'm gonna tell ya again.
Firstly, and this is an easy one, no fucking talkin' about 'playground' if ya do, well then, be expecting a visit from the devil himself, secondly, no touching the cage!" He goes silent, emphasising his words.
I swear the whole room held their breath but wanting to be the one to break the silence.
"For you boys! There are no rules! Let's give 'em a good show!"
