"'There is a magic-user. How wonderful! I was getting bored just waiting around pretending. HA HA HAHAHA!'" The hunter cooed in a scratchy deep and husky voice. Shadows were around its legs and come out of its mouth, it was cloaked in shadows and darkness,
'Fuck! It had to be a Hydra hunter, didn't it? This is the most dangerous one to deal with.' Dante hissed seeing the Hunter that was in front of him. 'I don't have to beat the Hydra, just till the times up.'
Dante held his hand out as a gun formed in his hand. He pointed at the Hydra and mana began to form on the tip of the gun. Pulling the trigger the gun fired out a blast of light purple-coloured energy at the Hydra. The hydra shifted its body out of the way of the bullet-like liquid. The sharp teeth of the Hydra disappeared as its lower jaw split open and its tongue shot out towards Dante. He avoids the initial price of the tongue through his shoulder and grabbed the tongue tightly as the gun's form changed into a dagger which Dante brought it up and through the tongue.
Though the tongue was cut no blood came out of the wound and the part that was cut off dispersed into shadows. The Hydra was unfazed as its lower jaw closed and its sharp teeth reappeared. It swung one of its hands and covered the nearby land in about a 500m radius in shadows. Its lower set of hands went down into the shadows and disappeared.
Dante was on guard looking around for where it was going to attack him. When a spear-like hand shot out from behind him. Nadia who was watching covered her mouth to stop herself from screaming out since that would give her away as well. The hand priced into Dante's side causing blood to spill and him to scream out for a brief moment.
Dante knew the Hydra was toying with him at that point as it could have easily killed him right then. He clicked his tongue in slight annoyance as he broke the spear of shadow's and pulled it out of his side. The dagger in his hand then changed into a sword as he made way to close the distance between them.
This time Dante was prepared for the Hydra's next shadow spear attack jumping up into the air avoiding the multiple shadow spears that shot out from the ground in front of him. Swinging the sword he cut the top half of the approaching spear stopping their growth. Right as he cut the spears he had another gun appear in his free hand as he quickly fired at the Hydra that was rooted in place hitting it in the chest with that shot causing dark orbs to flow out of its body.
Dante kicked off the dulled tips of the shadow spears to send himself toward the Hydra. This granted him the chance to cut off one of the Hydra's 4 arms and slightly nicking it the price of getting a large and slightly deep slash in his upper arm. Dante slide to a stop behind the Hydra spinning around to face the Hydra again firing at it with his gun at its back.
The Hydra was not about to let itself get hit so easily as a hand appeared from the shadows catching the bullet. It swung its tail and swept Dante's legs causing him to fall to the ground slightly hard. Then with its remaining right hand, it priced down towards him.
Dante rolled out of the way of the attack and quickly jumped up to his feet. He brought his blade up to block its slash towards him. The slight scraping sound of metal rang as he was fighting against the hand's sharp point claws. As its last remain hands shot towards him that was the moment that Dante used magic and a ball of light purple energy hit the Hydra causing it to stagger back.
Dante making slight space between them cased his sword in that purple energy before swinging it's dispersing the shadows that surround them. The Hydra screeched and lunged at Dante but he swung his sword at the Hydra causing a blade of energy to fly towards it cutting one of its horns in the process. The gun disappeared from Dante's hand then shot out a bolt of purple lightning from his fingertips at the Hydra.
It's one-hand then shot out towards Dante increasing in length allowing it to grab a hold of his sword wrenching it out of Dante's hand but before it could be used against him the sword disappeared. Hissing the Hydra brought its legs and arms back and begun to slither along the ground like a snake moving extremely fast. It extended out its long-bladed like elbows to the side creating a sharp edge along its side as it moved along the ground
This allowed the Hydra to slash Dante's legs creating large gashed as it moved past him quickly. Dante pulled out some silver colour beads into view before tossing them up into the air. Then large metal spike crashed into the ground a few pricing the Hydra in the process. Dante then flicked his wrist casting out a bolt of lighting that begun to zip between metal spikes making something like an electric grid around him.
The Hydra that got pinned under some of the spikes had to tare away parts of its tail and body to free itself causing some significant injuries to it but it wasn't done. Its upper arm with its elbow and point hand formed a blade it's then swung its arm and cut multiple of the metal spikes down just missing Dante in the process. It then jumped up and off of the cut spikes towards Dante.
Dante then quickly raised his hand and a large metal wall formed between the two of them. The Hydra's claws and nose horns screeched downed the metal surface Dante sent a current through the metal wall but the Hydra jumped off before the attack did any damage to it. Sweat began to trail down Dante's face from the large amount of mana he's been using and the fight itself taking its toll on him but he knew that he couldn't stop yet. Dante formed another sword before the wall was cut down by the Hydra. Dante then lunged at the Hydra slashing it with his sword and the Hydra caught his blade with its blade arm.
The Hydras tails then swung out from behind it and wrapped around Dante's ankle throwing him into a tree the force of the impact causing the tree to buckle and snap. Dante had the distinct taste of blood in his mouth from that as he pushed himself back to his feet a little slow. He barely had the chance to block the Hydra's next attack when he got back up to his feet.
Flashes of purple and sparks flew as the two continued to fight but after some time, Dante was getting tired and was beginning to make mistakes and gaps getting more and more injured. While the Hydra was perfectly fine not really slowing down even with the large number of injuries that Dante had managed to create at this point. There wasn't much time left for Dante but it was questionable if he would be able to hold out before it was possible for him to break out from this world.
The Hydra lunged forward and clamped its jaw down onto Dante's arm causing blood to run down his arm. However, before the Hydra could even attempt to bite through his arm or rip it from his body Dante sent a large bolt of lightning into it. With the hydra shocked Dante stabbed his sword into its chest to send repeating jolts of stunning electricity through it. Doing this allowed him to use his now free hand to pry open the jaw off his arm. With his arms free he shot off a few bullets into the Hydra's mouth before ripping out his blade from its chest.
The Hydra fell to the ground and a pool of shadow appeared along the ground hiding the ground beneath him. Dante looked around not letting his guard down yet but after a fair amount of time, he relaxed slightly as his weapons disappeared. But the Hydra wasn't done and wrapped itself around Dante beginning to constrict him.
Nadia looked in shock she thought the fight was over but that clearly wasn't the case. She looked at her father slightly anxious, though he was fighting better than she expected considering his age, she knew it had begun to take its toll. She could hear her father scream out as his bones were getting crushed. Nadia bites her lip watching. She and her father defiantly didn't have the best relationship, one she didn't think would ever be like a normal father and daughter. She didn't want to watch her father died… She didn't wish to watch as another parent died because of her.
Nadia turned around and made her way over to her closet. She pulled it open and began to push away some clothing. She grabbed a large case and opened it to reveal a compound bow. 'He said that magic will lead them right to me. But this should work. I'll just have to be careful.' Nadia thought as she grabbed the bow and grabbed her quiver filled with arrows.
She attached the quiver to her side as she raced out of her room and over to the second-floor balcony that had basically the same view as that of her bedroom. There was a better vantage point than the one she was using at this moment but it had to do. She brought up her bow then pulled an arrow out with her left hand knocking it before pulling back.
Nadia could feel the familiar tension as she pulled back the string. Taking a few deep breaths she calmed herself before she began to aim down the bow. She could see the Hydra and her father insight.
