The first thing that Nadia registered when she returned was that she was in pain and was extremely sore. She forced her eyes open, she quickly notice that her vision was slightly obstructed, and in stead of sky what was above her was a fabric ceiling.
'Why and how am I in a tent… I'm also lying on a cot.' Nadia thought as she raised her hand and touched the thing on her face to find it was none other than a fox mask. She had so many questions that she didn't have the answer to at the moment. Nadia clicked her tongue as she forced herself to sit up she noticed that she had bandaged on her as well. She recalled that she was fighting a dark beast before ending up in the dark lands.
Not long after sitting up she noted her smaller body, then a figure raced into the room. "Be careful siting up. Your wounds are still very fresh and have started to close. You don't want to tare them open again do you?" they exclaimed. Nadia glanced over at them noticing they appeared to be male.
"Where am I?"
"An army camp not too far away from where you fought the dark beast. You past out after getting hit by an attack which you sustained no injuries. You've been out for a day and a half."
'That's not long but I might be in trouble for disappearing from the house for so long.' Nadia thought bitting her lip slightly. "What of the dark beast? Has anything been done with its remains?" Eve asked as she turned her head to look at him. The young teen looking male had white hair with a dark blue streak in his hair with violet eyes.
"They still remain there. The army had no way of disposing of the body right now."
Nadia swung her leg over the cot. "I'll dispose of its corpse, so no need to worry about that." Eva huffed before forcing herself to her feet.
"Hold on there's something else!" They exclaimed causing Nadia to look back at them in wonder of what they wanted. "Become my master! I mean I'll become your familiar."
"What reason is there for me to have a familiar?"
"… Having a familiar is extremely useful! It makes you stronger, makes you capable of casting the element the familiar can us, refines your mana along with a few other things."
"What reason would you want to become my familiar?"
"Stability, increased power and strength, pure mana source. The relationship between us is symbiotic and beneficial for the both of us."
"If it's so useful why have you not become a familiar to another person yet?"
"You can't just have any old master, you have to be particular. Mana wise we need to be compatible. Second they need enough mana to sustain us. Not all magic user can have a familiar. Also currently magic users here are kinda rare. You are different from other magic users I've met. You have a large amount go mana that is unlike any other I've seen."
"I see let me ask you this. Are you the reason for this mask then?"
"Yes."
"Alright then. I have no problem letting you be my familiar then if you are useful like this."
"Yeessss! I mean of thank you master. As my Master you have the right to give me a name I like then seal the deal and form the master and familiar contract between us."
Nadia crossed her arms. 'A name hun. I've never been that good at naming things… hmmm… ah… I got one.' She though. "Akiko how about that for a name?"
"Akiko… I like it. I really do I accept the name and you as my master. Now let us form a contract."
"I form this point on am Akiko the nine-tailed fox, the familiar of my namer. I bind my life to hers and accept her as my master."
"I Nadia Lilith Luna-Le Fay take this being as my familiar granting them the name Akiko."
A magic sigil formed beneath the two of them and glowed a golden blue colour. A light hit them in the chest as a crest formed. The one on Nadia's chest the crest disappeared but it remained for Akiko. He then changed from a young teen to that of an adult taller than her. He looked down at Nadia with a fox like grin.
"Thank you my master. Oh also, I gathered the corpse of the monster for you last night."
Nadia nodded her head, "thank you for that we can head straight to Eva's place… no let's head back to town first." Eva sighed trying to keep her cool whole face to face with Akiko who had turned in to a fairly good looking man. Though her red ears gave away how she was feeling.
"Where we are going doesn't matter to me. I'll be with you either way. I'll protect you master." Akiko exclaimed his ears and tail standing straight up waring a serious expression with his eyes shining. Nadia couldn't help but smile a little at his enthusiasm.
"Well I guess you'll be my first secret guard then one thats is often in the shadows." Eva sighed as she did a few things. "Well lets be off I'd rather not be tasked with something annoying like a war right now."
Akiko's ear's disappeared and the two walked out together the two were quite the odd looking pair. A smaller cloaked fox masked figured and a tall handsome white haired man, they really stuck out. The two made their way through the camp towards the forest.
The two could hear the sound of a battle going on Nadia concluded that this was none other than the head camp the one closest to the front lines that was lead by non-other than the crown prince the one who is called battle crazed. 'I do not want to run into the crown prince he is the most dangerous to me at this time.' Nadia thought as she clicked her tongue.
As they made it to the forest treelike Nadia looked back for a moment. Though it was a battle raging on not that far away she found it relatively peaceful when in comparison to the sounds of gun fire and the general sounds of war from her home world. If you'd asked her how she felt, if she felt fear, sadness or joy she would say no. She felt nothing towards such a thing. She let out a slight sigh and went further into the forest with Akiko before teleporting back to town.
…
What Nadia was unaware of was that the battle that was going on currently was slightly her fault. After breaking the seal slightly a powerful burst of magic came from her when she returned to Eva's body and the necklace didn't appear right away to. The other side attacked due to the magic surge. This also made it fairly easy for her and Akiko to leave with no real issue.
As the battle entered a lawl a number of solider's returned to the camp. Someone with a full suit of armour entered the command tent blood was glistening off the silver coloured metal. "What of that girl from the forest?" That was the first thing he asked.
"Well sir… she disappeared."
"What? Well what of the other one."
"Also gone. They must have slipped out while everyone was busy with the battle."
He clicked his tongue and without taking off his armour he made his way to the tent that Nadia was resting in. Like the aid said there was no one inside. On the table sat a folded pice of paper and two glass bottles one filled with green liquid the other filled with and able coloured liquid, and a roll of bandages.
They walked over to the table removing their gentlest moving the files and bandages before picking up the paper. He opened the folded paper the first line was writ tined in another language he didn't recognize but was crossed out as if they realized their mistake.
[ To whom this may concern,
Thank you for treating my injuries and giving me a place to rest as I was unconscious. I recognize that this is an Army tent so supplies must be very tight especially medical supplies. So for using such precious resources on me I am grateful.
However, even if I am grateful I have no desire to get in thrilled in a political, disputes, and wars of your country or rather empire, of which I have no real affiliation with aside for business at this time.
AS such I left without a word (or at least plan too), though it maybe rude it was a needed measure, Please act as if the two of us were never here it will be more beneficial to you and I in the long run.
But I'm not the type of person to allow ones aid to go without a reward especially during such times. So as a repayment for such help I've left some of my ware for you to use in your camp. I trust you will find it very useful.
The reason I was in that forest in the first place was partially to gather more medicinal herbs. I left you a powerful salve which is in the large glass bottle with the grass coloured liquid; a strong painkiller you would not find on the market as its a unique thing from where I am from it is on the smaller bottle and is the yellow coloured liquid; and finally a large roll of highly absorbent bandages.
The powerful salve you do not need to use much of it for it to work. Just enough to coat the wound. It can help decrease the chance of infection and promote healing to close the wound faster. As such I suggest you only use it on large or major injuries, or injuries that are at a risk for an infection.
With the painkiller be very careful and use it sparingly and rarely. The reason I warn of this is that if you are not careful and listen to my instructions and warning you risk that chance of an addiction occurring of the medicine.
With this medicine a small drop of it is enough to numb most pain. However for an extremely deep, serious or severed limb type of injury I would suggest 2 drops. Do not allow a person to use it longer than 5 days in a row and after 5 days they are not allowed to have another drop of it till 2 weeks have passed to ensure it is out of there system and not get addicted to it. I know setting such restriction of it on a battlefield is crazy but not following can lead to many other troubles along the way latter down the line which was learned by my land years before I was alive and it is something I'd rather not happen to the ones that have aided me.
If you don't understand, think of it like a beneficial poison. In moderation it can be useful, but too much and it is lethal.
I don't think I need to tell you about bandages it's fairly straight forward. They are made of material that is highly absorbent so i suggest using it or large, major or serious wounds that bleed heavily. Make sure the bandages are change (and if you plan of reusing them throughly washed) every 8 hours.
May you be successful and face minimal casualties in the future.]
It wasn't signed however the penmanship was distinctive with slight smearing. It was a little sloppy clearly written in a rush but was legible. The man couldn't help but smirk slightly at the sight.
