(Note: This is optional, you don't have to read it unless you want to know the background.)
Many years ago, humans were blessed with magic power by five unknown beings. Although not all of them were born with the ability to use magic, they manage to fight off the monsters than threatens this world's peace. These monsters were called Diversos. These monsters were created after a strange meteor hit the earth.
The energy that emanates from another world, animals have mutated and became these creatures of destruction. They have terrorized humanity when there were only guns and missiles. Those didn't work, and nearly more than half of humanity was wiped out because of these creatures.
After the blessings of magical power, the danger of the Diversos was decreased. Peace was partially established. The cost of lost ones and the destruction of countless countries paid the price for peace. The countries in South America, Europe, Africa, and the western side of Asia were destroyed. Leaving only several important countries left.
United States, Canada, China, Russia, North Korea, South Korea, Japan, etcetera.
Those that survived the onslaught that the Diversos had caused in the world have been provided refuge in these countries. Eventually, these settlers will join these governments and influence a new kind of nation. With four of the east countries combined, China, North and South Korea, and Japan, a new country was formed.
The Republic of the East.
After a few decades past, the amount of magic born humans has surpassed the count of non-magic humans. With no guidance to the use of these magic powers, those that were properly guided in using their magic powers created schools just for magic born humans. Now it was optional for these magic born humans if they wanted to go to these schools or not. After all, not all people want to risk their lives to fight monsters that almost wiped out the entirety of humanity.
Those born with magical powers could do elemental magic. Fire, Wind, Ice, etcetera. There was also animus magic, where the use of spirits comes in handy. There are several animus spirits that people use, animals, monsters, and even mythical beings. However, not most people can use mythical beings. It depends on the level of your magic power. There are other kinds of magic too, ranked from beginner to experts.
A few years would pass, now the danger that the Diversos causes weren't much of a problem. It was as if the danger outside was no more. Diversos have settled in their new habitat. They were no more than regular animals now, running away from the sight of a human or machine that they've built.
However, a new danger arises. Voids.
There have been many cases where a void would open up in the middle of the city, inside a building, or even in a secret spot where no one goes to at school. This danger was soon dealt with by the creation of a new branch of the military.
The creation of the Magic Force. A new and effective part of the TROTE's army. There is also one in the United States.
(Note: TROTE = The Republic of the East. I assumed you already know that, but I'll just leave it there.)
After that, many graduates from various magic academies enroll in the army, specifically the Magic Force. Those at the Magic Force are provided with well-paying salaries, and some were given special privileges. Those that didn't join the Army did other jobs related to magic. Which also paid a good amount.
Despite the invasion of the Diversos, the technological advancements on earth were not delayed. Many new weapons were formed and most were powered with magic. There are sometimes when magic-born are not able to physically manifest their powers. Therefore, magic tools were made in order to ease that.
Though humanity may be at ease, they are still trying to take back what was once originally theirs.
