"Thank you for your visit!"
The cashier said as I walked out of the clothing store. Hmph, for a god from another world, he really has a weird sense of fashion.
I looked into the bag with the god's clothing. He told me to go buy him a black leather jacket, black sleeveless turtleneck, gothic pants, and black vintage boots. Jeez, he really loves the color black, doesn't he? I've never seen people wear clothes like these in the public. At most public parties, there are some, but it's not that famous. It's even a surprise he even knows the exact name of the clothes.
Anyway, I just hope this God can pay me back because all this was pretty expensive to buy.
As I came back to the alley where the god was, he was sitting on top of a dumpster, throwing pebbles at the three unconscious bastards. When he saw me, he hopped off the dumpster and walked towards me.
"You got me the clothes I requested?"
"Yeah, umm questio-"
"I'll pay you once I find a job in this world."
Wow, he read my mind. Well, of course he can, he's basically connected to me.
A lot has happened. After this god, his name is Akatsuki. After Akatsuki said he was a god, I didn't believe him at first. I mean, it's a bit weird to believe. A Diverso that can become a human, then claim that he's a god? It's totally weird if you ask me.
But when I denied that he was a god, his aura suddenly changed. It didn't feel like any other energy that I've felt before. It was so... divine...
I thought it was a spell, but there is no record of a spell making your aura so... divine.
I was so drawn to it, but scared at the same time. I almost wanted to get onto my knees, begging for mercy. But what was I begging for? I didn't even know. I was so overwhelmed.
At the point where I almost lost consciousness because of the energy he gave off, his power level abruptly dropped. He said that he couldn't keep up his "Divine aura" on for a long time as he was connected to me.
I ask what he meant by that and he said that when he came into this world, he was on the verge of dying. I didn't really understand that part; I mean, how can a god die? He said that he needed a host in order to live and he found the perfect vessel. That vessel being me.
But my question was why he chose me and not some other kid. He said these exact words:
"A god is an entity of divinity. If a god were to inhabit a stain territory, they would either lose all essence of their holy power living there or purify the territory and make it theirs, but losing their divine power at the same time."
I didn't get what he meant by that. To make it easier for me, he said that he needed a body inhabited by a pure soul to share his divine power with.
So now I have divine power coursing through me huh? But that's weird, I didn't feel any different than before. If I had divine power in me, I would be able to feel it. Sadly, it doesn't work like that. Damn, if it did, it probably would've felt good... right?
I asked him that since he was a god, would his power level be like, infinite or something? He said that he did, but ever since he transferred his spirit into me, his power level was significantly decreased.
Damn, he even went and said that I was a letdown. To get called a disappointment by a god, I might as well go down to hell.
But at least there was good news for me. He said that if I were to raise my power level, then the limits that were set on his power would one by one disappear. To do that, he broke the "Shackles" that were limiting me from raising my power level.
Though the process was a bit painful...
Dom!
"Ough!"
I fell onto my knees as Akatsuki had just punched the area where my heart was. In order to release me from my chains, he had to physically break them from the outside while using his spiritual power to break it from the inside.
Now I don't know what he had to break physically, except that he broke some of my ribs again. But damn, it was painful.
I can still feel the pain as of now.
While I was busy remembering how hard he punched my chest, he had finished changing.
I almost didn't recognize him at first. I almost mistook him for a model. My god, he was so goddamn cool looking! Hmm, but he also looked a bit too edgy.
"Why thank you."
He said as he walked up to me.
"Now, I think you'll need help holding all those groceries. I was in your pocket but I can tell you were struggling."
He said as he pointed to the piles of grocery bags against the wall. Surprise that no one stole them while I was gone.
We were now walking to the train station, and along the way, we received many stares. We walked past a group of gals and a few seconds after we passed them, one of them came up to us.
"C-can I get your phone number?"
We turned around, and she was shifting around weirdly. Was she talking to me? Did I finally get the attention I've always wanted? To be the popular guy for once... looks like luck has finally taken my side.
"I don't got one. Hmm, Tatsuo, give me your phone."
"Ok."
As I handed my phone to Akatsuki, I suddenly realized. She was talking to Akatsuki, wasn't she... Because he has cooler looks than me and all that? C'mon, can't people notice me?
After Akatsuki had given my phone number to her, he gave it back to me and patted my shoulder.
"Now Tatsuo, where are we going?"
"Hmm, I thought you already knew since you can read my mind."
"Yeah, I didn't get that part now where are we going?"
"To my house."
"Your house, eh?"
"Yes..."
It took us a while to get onto the train platform because Akatsuki had to pay.
As we got to the platform, there was a couple having a quarrel and a group of popular looking girls getting flirted on by a group of popular looking guys. A lot of stuff happens at the train stations, and it's pretty annoying. Are the streets not enough for these people anymore?
"Hmm, different world, same old mortals."
Akatsuki chuckled. Same old mortals? Just how similar is my world compared to yours?
"Hmm, I'd say very similar."
He whispered. Very similar, huh? Are you perhaps from the future and not from another world?
"No, I am from another world. Well, since my world has similarities to your world, it would be called... another universe?"
"I don't know, let's not talk about your world now. All this talking is making me confused."
When I said that, his mood became a bit gloomy. The glow in his eyes slowly darkened. D-did I say something that might've offended him?
"Hmm... I am a bit interested. What was your world like?"
Akatsuki said nothing at first, he just glared at the floor.
"My world was very similar to this world. Just that we've advanced pretty far. Well, except phones, those still exist in my world. Tatsuo, remind me to buy a phone."
"Alright... wait a minute, I'm not your secretary!"
"Hehehe..."
Suddenly he became gloomy again.
"Uhh, if you don't want to talk about your world, you don't have to."
"No, it's alright."
Then he continued. He kept talking about the technology in his world and all that. Then he started talking about the God stuff. Gods(According to him there was more than one god) would live alongside the mortals and all that because it was the age of peace. But there was one god that opposed the idea of living along with humans.
A tear went down the side of Akatsuki's cheek. Is he crying?
"A-Akatsuki, you don't need to keep going if you don't want to."
"You asked for it, so I'm giving it to you."
The tears that were streaming down his cheeks suddenly vanished, as if they vaporized.
"He hated humans with all his might. Then he hated us because of our love for mortals. As time passed by, his anger fueled to the point that he couldn't hide it anymore and unleashed all his fury. He'd cause the extinction of mortals. It was a bloodbath. He even murdered every deity that stood in his way."
He'd place his hand over his chest.
"I was the last one to fight him."
"D-did you win?"
He shook his head.
"When I thought I died, I suddenly appeared in your world."
Then he looked to the right, and his mood was all bright again.
"Anyway, the train is here."
I look and the train had arrived. As we got on, I could tell that Akatsuki was faking the smile because his eyes were empty. Guess he has it worse than me.
Now, I need to make up a story for him because he needs a place to stay. The streets aren't suited for a god if you ask me.
