Author's Note: This was originally supposed to be a sweet little thing for Valentine's Day but I kept expanding on it and it kinda blends into the story now. And since I didn't finish it in time(this would be hella late) I changed it a bit (a lot). Anyways, I hope you still like it. Enjoy~
Day 1.
"Here's the plan. First, we go over to their table and talk to them for a bit." Kellian stated.
"Talk to them!? How will I manage that?" Carly question shyly.
"We're going to practice what to say just listen to the steps for now," Kellian explained.
"O-okay," Carly replied.
"Then we are going to invite Dexter to come and eat with us out here and get to know him a bit. When we're done you'll end the conversation by asking him to the movies."
"B-but we're moving so fast!" Carly started to freak out.
"Not really. You only feel like that because you see the movie as a date. It could be seen as a hang out with a friend to someone else." Kellian explained.
"Oh. Then I shouldn't think of it as a date?" Carly asked.
"Not yet. We want to make him see it as a date first." Kellian smirked.
"O-okay." Carly shyly nodded.
"Uhh... Kelly..." Leo said, tapping on her shoulder.
"Yes?" Kellian turned to face him.
"Ummm... Can I talk to you real quick?" Leo asked, his eyes switching between Kellian and Carly.
"Sure," Kellian replied. "Carly in the meantime think of things to talk about," Kellian said while getting up.
"I-I'll try," Carly replied.
Leo led Kellian to a nearby garden.
"Want me to help you?" He asked as soon as she was in front of him.
"Help me?" Kellian questioned.
"You're trying to get Cally and Dexter to date right?" Leo asked.
"Maybe," Kellian replied.
"Then let me help," Leo suggested.
"Why?" Kellian raised an eyebrow slightly confused.
"Because it'll be fun." Leo smiled genuinely.
"Fun?" Kellian questioned.
"Ryder thinks you're trying to get them in a relationship too. So he plans to keep you away from her. I want to spite him and help you." Leo smiled deviously.
"He actually wants me around?" Kellian asked.
"He does. But the reason this time would be to make Cally fail in getting what she wants." Leo explained.
"I see. Then let's go help her." Kellian asserted.
"Wait. We should tell Dexter." Leo recommended.
"What! No." Kellian was shocked Leo would even suggest that.
"Why not?" Leo was confused.
"What if he actually ends up liking her?" Kellian asked.
"He won't. I wouldn't be surprised if he's in love with Ryder with how he devotes his life to Ryder and all."Leo asserted.
"But still–"
"He'll probably catch on and ruin the whole thing. But if you still don't want to tell him I won't force you." Leo added accidentally cutting Kellian's sentence short.
"We won't tell him unless it's dire. And I want to be the one to do it." Kellian stated.
"Okay, that's fine." Leo smiled.
While Kellian and Leo were talking Sally came out of hiding and made Carly tell her everything.
When Kellian and Leo came back Sally had already left.
"Carly. Leo is going to help us from now on." Kellian informed.
"O-okay." Carly nodded.
"So what are we doing?" Leo asked sitting down.
"Just sit there and act like you normally would. We're going to walk away and come back to greet you as if you were with Dexter and Ryder." Kellian stated.
" Wouldn't it be better if I pretend to be Dexter?" Leo asked.
"Can you?" Kellian asked in response.
"Yes. It's not that hard. You guys will need to get used to reading what he says anyway. Let me get a notebook." Leo looked for a notebook the practice began.
"Hey, guys. This is my friend Carly you met her earlier today." Kellian said with a welcoming smile.
"Wait. Her name's not Cally!?" Leo immediately broke character.
"My sister and mother told me that that was my new name. Carlissa is what is written on all my papers though. Carly is a nickname I prefer. "
"I see," Leo responded then practice continued as planned.
Lunch Time.
"Hey, guys. This is my friend Carly. You met her earlier today." Kellian greeted with a welcoming smile.
"Hi." Carly waved shyly.
'So cute!' Kellian squealed on the inside.
"Mind if we join you?" Kellian asked.
"Actually yes we d—"
"No, not at all." Leo smiled as he interrupted Ryder.
"How are you guys?" Kellian asked.
"..." Ryder silently glared at both Kellian and Leo.
"I'm amazing," Leo responded cheerfully.
Dexter nodded and smiled. You can assume he said something along the lines of "I'm good."
Carly blushed seeing Dexter's handsome smile and his gorgeous brown eyes focused on her.
"Ahh. Kelly, I made lunch for you as promised. Let's go outside and eat it." Leo started, trying to get everyone to move outside as planned.
"Yes, that's a great idea. I found this lovely spot that–"
"You three go. I wish to remain." Ryder declared firmly.
"No way mister grumpy pants you have to come with." Kellian frowned. 'Stop getting in the way!'
"I said no. And Dexter's staying with me." Ryder asserted firmly, accidentally angering Kellian.
Kellian got up, skipped over to him, leaned over and whispered in his ear, "I'm sorry. I can't allow that." She then grabbed his lunch and phone and booked it.
"You damn persistent Blueberry!" Ryder yelled chasing after her."
"Well then. Shall we go outside?" Leo asked with a charming smile.
"O-okay." Carly's confidence took a fatal hit when Kellian was forced to leave because that meant she was now mostly on her own.
Outside Carly shyly asked Dexter the questions she rehearsed. "D-do you like dogs?"
Dexter nodded.
"Hehe~ Me too."
Dexter smiled awkwardly then glanced over at Leo.
Leo mouthed, "Kellian will explain. Just play along."
Dexter kept sending looks of help Leo's way which eventually led to Leo leaving.
After leaving, Leo encountered Sally.
"Hi, Leondre!" She waved like a madwoman.
"Do I know you?" Leo asked backing away from her.
"Don't joke like that silly." She replied stepping closer. "I couldn't help but notice you have packed some extra lunch. You see I didn't pack any... Could you... maybe share?"
Leo threw the lunch box at her. "If that's all you wanted. I'll leave now."
"No! I mean, not yet. Let's eat together." She smiled while grabbing onto his arm.
Leo stared at the girl gripping his arm. He broke out in cold sweat. Her putrid scent invaded Leo's nostrils. Trying not to get sick he covered his nose with his other hand.
'Why is he covering his nose? Do I... stink!?' Sally tried to discretely smell herself.
'What is she doing? Can't she just let me leave!?' Leo groaned. "I'm sorry. I'm just... not feeling well."
"Don't worry. I happen to have some medicine that might help." She dug into her pocket and pulled out a bottle.
Feeling the girl pressing her body against his Leo became increasingly sick. He was about to push her off and escape when she suddenly pushed a bottle of something up into his face. If it were just the bottle he'd be fine, but the girl had pushed her bosoms up against his chest causing him to pass out.
"This was the calming oil right? So why did he pass out?" Sally questioned what happened while she took him to the nurse.
With Kellian.
Having had a head start Kellian was able to run away and hide inside a tree. However, Ryder found her fairly quickly.
"You can't hide from me smelling like that," Ryder smirked.
Kellian already knew she couldn't hide. So she sat in the tree and messed around with his phone. Ryder was talking to Liam, his little brother, at the time she took his phone so she began to text Liam and also gave him her number as promised.
"Your little brother is nothing like you," Kellian smirked.
"My phone." Ryder scowled.
"You want it?" Kellian teased.
Ryder glared at her.
"Make me." Kellian taunted as she narrated what was happening to Liam.
Ryder ran up to the tree but just as he was about to catch her, Kellian jumped off.
Kellian didn't expect him to not only continue running but also jump after her.
Ryder managed to catch her before they fell. After making sure she was okay he took back his phone and lunch.
"No fair." Kellian pouted.
Ryder looked at her and decided to hear her out, "Why'd you do that?"
"What, steal your stuff? Because you were going to interrupt them," Kellian replied.
"Why are you helping that girl?" Ryder inquired.
"...At first I was only doing it to make Sally mad but... I think Carly is genuinely a nice person." Kellian smiled.
"...Why?" Ryder was stupefied and confused.
"She's a little dumb and extremely easy to manipulate like a young child. How do I explain this? I think of her as you think of Liam." Kellian tried to explain her feelings.
"So you trust her?" Ryder asked still confused.
"Yes." Kellian smiled.
"She could be acting," Ryder stated.
"I don't think she is. If she is acting though... I don't know what I'd do..." Kellian had a bitter smile.
At that moment Ryder remembered something.
"But what if Liam is only pretending to like me... What if he actually hates me... What do I do then?" An eight-year-old Ryder complained to his father.
"I don't think he's acting." A younger Tyler Rhodes responded, patting his son's head.
"How do you know?" Little Ryder frowned.
"It's just a feeling. Wouldn't you rather trust him now and be happy instead of constantly worrying about what ifs?" Tyler asked smiling.
"It would. But wouldn't it hurt more if he betrays me later?" Ryder asked.
"I suppose it would. But there's a chance it won't because he was never acting and you both can just stay happy. I suggest you take that chance of happiness and if that happiness was fake it just wasn't meant to be." He said grinning.
End.
"Fool's advice," Ryder commented.
"Huh?" Kellian was confused.
"You're an idiot... But the kind of idiot...I don't hate," Ryder smiled slightly. "Fine. If you trust her I will also. I won't get in your way."
Kellian hugged him. Ryder froze. Ryder hasn't been hugged by anyone in a long time. Not even Liam because all the Elder wolves don't think Liam is deserving of Ryder's attention.
"Thank you." Kellian expressed her appreciation.
"Don't go thanking me yet. If she betrays you I'll take care of both of you." Ryder warned.
"Huh?" She tilted her head.
"Of course I won't physically hurt you since both Leo and Dexter care for you but the same can't be said for little Carly." Ryder had an intimidating look on his face.
"...Right," Kellian said nervously.
There was an awkward silence that was broken by Kellian's stomach.
"Here," Ryder said pushing the food he had prepared for himself towards her.
"But that's your food." She pushed it back.
"You are more hungry." He pushed with more strength overpowering her.
"I refuse. Unless we're sharing I cannot take your food." She pushed it back even when Ryder was using half his strength.
'She's powerful for a human, even some werewolves would have had no choice but to submit. Tsk tsk tsk. This is precisely why the werewolves need to train harder instead of relaxing like everything is okay.' Taken aback by the girl's immense strength Ryder gave in, "Fine. Let's share."
After the first bite, Kellian was stunned. It was only a small bite but her mouth exploded with flavour, "This is amazing!"
"Thanks." Ryder smiled slightly.
'Right. I forgot he's really good at cooking. Leo was right. He made a basic chicken sandwich taste gourmet.'
Day 2.
As soon as Kellian and Carly got together the next day, Ryder dragged Carly away to talk and Dexter grabbed Kellian.
Dexter held up a notebook with the words, "What are you trying to do?"
"...When did you figure it out?" Kellian asked.
He took the book wrote "You were caught right away." then showed Kellian again.
"So we were caught right away. Sigh. I just really want to help her. She has a crush on you and I was helping her confess." Kellian explained.
Dexter replied by writing, "I don't like her so you can stop."
"I know that! I knew this plan was doomed from the start but I messed around and got attached. I like Carly and genuinely want to help her. So please! Please, play along! You can explain your feelings to her when she confesses." Kellian suggested.
"Sigh. Fine." Dexter agreed. But something was different, This time he actually talked. His voice was calm, deep and velvety.
'His voice is... so pleasing to listen to.' Kellian said to herself.
"I..." Dexter realized what he just did and ran.
'Huh? Why'd he run away?' Kellian was perplexed.
On her way back, Kellian ran into Ryder and decided to ask him.
"Can't believe he actually talked to you. But he ran away because he's self-conscious about his voice." Ryder explained.
"Why? It sounds so good!" Kellian did not understand why Dexter didn't like his own voice.
"Then tell him that. I don't care if he avoids you or not." Ryder turned around.
"Avoid me!? He's going to avoid me?" Kellian panicked.
Ryder didn't answer and walked away.
Kellian pushed it aside and went back to Carly to explained today's plan.
"Did you ask him about the movie?" Kellian asked.
"N-no. But we talked a lot!" Carly said excitedly.
"That's great! What did you talk about?" Kellian was curious.
"We talked about how amazing you are–"
"Not important skip that." Kellian doesn't like hearing about herself.
"We talked about how kind you are–"
"You can skip anything to do with me." Kellian smiled eagerly.
"We...talked about the school lunch...a little." Carly struggled to find anything else they talked about.
"Did you two seriously only talk about me the entire time?" Kellian frowned
"But you really are an amazing person. Once I started talking about you I couldn't stop." Carly explained shyly.
"How can you have that much to talk about?" Kellian was baffled.
"What do you mean. You finished that Math assignment in no time on your first day, you are really confident when you speak to others, you are very friendly and easy to get along with, you were really strong that time in the bathroom and you are very nice actually helping me even though I said some mean things and even thought about hurting you, you call me by my real name and you're nothing like my sister and her friends... *sniff* You are my first real friend... and I... I..." Carly started to rant about Kellian but was cut off by her sudden tears.
"Carly... Thank you for all those kind words. It means a lot coming from you. I am glad that I have the honour to be your friend true friend." Although she hated hearing about herself she still appreciated Carly's words.
The two girls hugged and once Carly calmed down Kellian began to explain today's plan. Leo joined and they began practising the plan.
Classes went by quickly and it was now time for lunch. The group got together and sat at an outside table. Leo was about to give Kellian the food he made her when Sally came along and "accidentally" spilt her drink on Leo.
The drink soaked his pants and the food he was about to give Kellian.
"Oh my gosh! I'm so sorry! Here let me help you." Sally began digging through her bag.
"N-no. I'm fine." Leo waved his hands frantically.
"No, I insist." She finally pulled out a handkerchief.
She took her handkerchief and push down onto Leo's wet pants attempting to dry it. Leo immediately passed out and began foaming at the mouth.
"Uhh... Sally, I think I should take him to the nurse." Kellian remembered what he said before.
"What? No, he's fine—" She turned and looked at him, "Leo!?"
"Did I push down too hard? Did I hurt you?" Sally began to panic.
"I don't think that's the issue. Just let me take him." Kellian tried to get Leo away from Sally.
"No! It is the issue! Look at him he's in pain! I'll help him because you obviously know nothing!" Sally yelled.
"Sally." Ryder only said her name but she immediately stopped everything and bowed.
"Y-yes. Gracious Alpha." She replied.
"Go," Ryder commanded.
"But Leondre..." Sally didn't want to leave Leo with Kellian.
"I said. Go." Ryder repeated.
"My sister..." Sally was looking for any excuse to stay.
"Don't make me repeat myself a third time," Ryder warned.
"Yes sir." Sally ran away in fear.
"Kellian. Come with." Ryder commanded whilst picking up Leo.
"Okay," Kellian replied following him.
They brought Leo to the nurse. While waiting for Leo to wake up, Ryder gave Kellian a bento box.
"Huh?" She was confused.
"Don't think I made that for you. I accidentally made too much so I decided to give you because you seem poor." Ryder clarified before sitting down.
"I never thought you made it for me. And I'm not that poor." Kellian pouted.
"Shut up and eat," Ryder commanded. He then took on his earphones.
"Wait one more thing. This is really cute you really thought about the presentation, huh?" Kellian smiled.
"I have no idea what you're talking about. I told you I just tossed food in a bento box. Why would I make leftovers presentable? Especially when I'm giving them to a dumb Blueberry." Ryder said the put on his headphones and closed his eyes.
Back with Dexter and Carly.
Carly led the conversation exactly as planned and now she knows more about Dexter that she ever did when she stalked him with her sister and Amanda. And Dexter can now see why Kellian likes this girl so much, Carly is genuinely a good person.
