Chapter 23 - Bad Influence

When Kellian woke up the first thing she was greeted with was Carly's face.

"Hi, Carly." Kellian smiled weakly.

"Kellian." Carly was worried.

"Blueberry." Ryder didn't know what to say.

"Oh! There was a guy in the shed named Kyle and Amanda is going to kill so can you do anything about that oh mighty Alpha?" Kellian asked.

"Don't call me Alpha. Why do you want to protect him anyway? Look at you and Carly." Ryder was confused.

"But Amanda made him," Kellian stated.

"That bit– Ahem. Female dog was behind this?" Ryder stopped himself from swearing.

"Yes but–"

"Fine." Ryder agreed.

"Huh?" Kellian was surprised.

Ryder didn't feel like explaining and left.

Dexter explained in Ryder's stead, "He wants to help." Then Dexter went after Ryder.

"... Okay?" Kellian didn't think it would be that easy.

"He doesn't like Amanda and he's using this as a chance to put her in her place," Leo explained.

"I see," Kellian commented.

"Are you okay?" Carly asked.

"I'm fine just a little tired. But look at your face." Kellian commented.

"I'll be fine. Big sis saved me." She smiled. "I wish I were as strong as you."

"You can be all you need is a little training," Kellian stated.

"How would I manage to get a trainer?" Carly asked rhetorically.

"Are trainers expensive?" Kellian inquired.

"Very. At least for normal folk like me." Carly answered.

"Oh... maybe we could get a job together and make money?" Kellian suggested.

"Bad idea. You would be in danger Kelly." Leo shot down her idea immediately.

"Right. You can't get a job." Carly agreed.

"Mmmm... Well, you don't need it now. You have me and the guys to protect you." Kellian smiled.

"I do." Carly returned the smile.

The next week went by quickly. There were a few more people that came after Kellian and Carly but were swiftly defeated. Eventually, everyone learnt their lesson stopped bothering them. Well almost everyone.

"Ugh! No one is listening to me anymore!!!" Amanda complained angrily as she threw her phone across the room.

"Because they're more scared of me than they are of you," Ryder smirked.

Ryder was casually sitting on a table behind Amanda.

"Ahhh!!!" Amanda screamed in shock. "Why are you here?"

"Why do you hate the girls so much?" Ryder tilted his head.

"Because I do." Amanda did not wish to answer.

"Then I'm here because I am," Ryder smirked.

"So... I spared that mutt's life... When's the date?" Amanda changed the topic.

"Saturday," Ryder answered.

"Oh my gosh. You're actually going on a date with me!!!!" Amanda screamed excitedly.

"Sigh. You better make this worth my time." Ryder stated. 'Her reaction better be satisfying. Father has already approved of my decision.'

"Don't worry. I won't disappoint you." Amanda was elated.

Meanwhile.

"Why do you suddenly care about my love life? And why should I trust a human?" Simon asked defensively.

"Because Carly feels like Sally can change so I'm going to try and fix her," Kellian answered.

"She isn't broken and she's fine the way she is," Simon stated.

"No, she's not! Amanda has brainwashed her... somehow. I thought if anyone else could notice it would be you." Carly exclaimed.

"Sure she changed but she is still her," Simon stated.

"But she's just Amanda's pet right now. Don't you want to help her?" Carly asked.

"Help her?" Simon questioned.

"Help her get away from Amanda's clutches!" Carly answered.

"How would I even do that?" Simon doubted the girl's sanity.

"Well, we have a plan," Kellian smirked.

"And true love's kiss breaks curses so if Amanda is actually cursing Sally it will be fixed when you kiss her!" Carly added.

"Actually we're using Simon because he'll keep her company when Amanda crashes and burns." Kellian corrected.

"She doesn't like me back you know. So you're wasting your time." Simon turned around to leave.

"No. I think she likes you more than you both realize! She's just too blinded by her obsession with Leo to notice." Carly said grabbing onto Simon's shirt,

"Wouldn't that mean..."

"I was obsessed too. And having someone who genuinely cared about me helped a lot." Carly explained smiling at Kellian.

"We are hoping you'll help her by just being there for her," Kellian explained.

"And correct her when she strays from the right path. Don't worry about how that will happen though. Kellian is an expert." Carly winked.

"Okay?" Simon was unsure of the girls' plan but went along with it anyway.

By Saturday things were going as planned. Simon was on a date with Sally and Amanda was on a date with Ryder.

"Virgin..." Sally called Simon randomly during their meal.

"Yes?" Simon responded.

"I... Appreciate you spending time with me this week... and I think I might want to... you know... give you a chance or whatever." Sally said nervously.

"Are you saying you want to date me?" Simon was flabbergasted. 'Kellian's plan worked!?'

"I want to try... To be honest I'm tired of Amanda's BS. She'll end up killing us both if I keep on following her. If I do somehow manage to win Leo, I'd still be stuck with her since he's always around Ryder."

"So, you're giving up on him?" Simon asked.

"Yeah. I'm tired and you reminded me that being simple can be nice. Also, I may be your girlfriend or whatever now but just know that you're my second choice. Leo is way cuter and smarter than you." Sally pouted.

"I know." Simon was on cloud nine, nothing could ruin his mood.

"Idiot virgin. You shouldn't be fine with that! I'm your girlfriend now Simon! You should be mad when I talk about other guys!" Sally scolded.

Simon's entire face went red when Amanda said his name. 'I can die happy now.'

Meanwhile.

"I'm breaking off the engagement." Ryder took a sip of his milk.

"What!?" Amanda yelled.

"Your behaviour recently... utter garbage. I do not associate with trash." Ryder said casually while giving her a look telling her to sit down.

"... But what about your mother???" Amanda questioned.

"She's dead," Ryder answered seriously

At first, Amanda was shocked thinking Ryder had killed his mother then she realized he was talking bout his birth mother. "Sigh. Your dad's wife."

"Oh. Handled." Ryder continued to drink his milk.

"And Kyle." Amanda thought she could use him as leverage because Ryder asked her to spare him.

"Kill him and I'll kill you," Ryder responded while looking into her eyes threateningly.

"But why!?" Amanda was complaining like a toddler when you stopped them from killing themselves.

"Because until you can learn to be a real Alpha Female you will never be worthy of being my wife," Ryder said with a look of disdain when he looked at her.

"Why would you even agree to go on a date with me then?" Amanda wanted to know.

"So I can make it clear. I have never loved you and I never will. And you're making it easier for me to ditch you so keep it up." He smirked and gave her a thumbs up.

'My plans are making it easier for Ryder to cancel our marriage...?' Amanda was in a daze when Ryder left.

Realizing she was now alone she immediately took out her phone. "Sally! I need comfort! Come here right now!" She demanded as soon as Sally picked up the phone.

"I'm on a date. I've had enough of you and your plans. I want to stop being friends." Sally cleared her chest.

"Sally-" Before Amanda could say anything Sally hung up.

"How dare she hang up on me!?" Amanda complained.

She tried Carly next, "Cally- I mean Carly do you want to–"

"Don't call me," Carly stated as soon as she realised it was Amanda. Carly then hung up.

"That- Ugh!" Amanda was frustrated.

"Mom?" And finally, she called her mother.

"What is it I'm busy?"

"Nevermind..." Amanda hung up.

'I don't have anyone to make me feel better...' Amanda was a mess of emotions right now. She went into a random bathroom and started tearing up.

Meanwhile, Kellian, Carly, and Ryder had a group hug. Well, Ryder was dragged into the group hug by the girls.

"We have successfully gotten rid of the mean girls!" Carly yelled happily.

"Yay!" Kellian cheered.

"Can I go now?" Ryder asked.

"No. We're going to celebrate with food!" Kellian insisted.

"At a restaurant?" Ryder raised an eyebrow.

"A fancy restaurant?" Kellian could practically read his mind.

"Yes." Ryder nodded.

"Aren't those expensive?" Kellian asked without thinking.

"What? Can't you afford it?" Ryder teased.

"N-no I can definitely afford it." Kellian smiled nervously. 'My pocket money... I'm going to be broke again.'

Ryder called his chauffeur, "Pick me up at the park near where you left me," Ryder smirked. "I know somewhere good."

Ryder brought the girls to what looked like a small mansion.

"I thought we were going to a restaurant," Carly commented.

"This is a restaurant," Ryder stated.

"What?" Kellian was surprised.

"Excuse me but this restaurant is reservation only." A man wearing a suit stopped the group.

"I'm under Mr. Rhodes," Ryder stated.

"..." The man wearing a suit took one look at the group and laughed.

"Nice try kids—"

"Yes, Father." Ryder was already talking to his father on the phone.

He put the phone on speaker, "I heard you were stopping my son and his friends from entering. You must be new. Call one of your superiors over and they'll explain I'm very busy right now."

The man in the suit seemed unfazed and called someone over.

"Mr. Burns this group claims they are here under Mr. Rhodes. They even got someone to pretend to be him."

"Who in their right mind would lie— Young Master Rhodes." The man, presumably the owner, stopped his previous statement then greeted Ryder with a bow.

"What?" The man in the suit was shocked.

"Bow." The owner of the restaurant forced the man to bow.

"Can we get a table or not?" Ryder didn't care about any of this.

"Of course sir you're always welcome." The owner said happily. "Girls!"

A group of girls in cute uniforms came out of nowhere and escorted them to a balcony on the fourth floor where a beautifully arranged table waited.

"Your menus." One girl handed out the menus.

"Please ring this bell once you've decided." Another explained.

"The roasted duck sounds nice. What do you think, Blueberry?" Ryder smirked.

"Oh, I—" Kellian was flabbergasted by the prices. 'I can't even afford the dish Ryder mentioned... How can I possibly afford a nine-course meal for three people!?'

"So expensive. I wonder how much it costs for a reservation." Carly commented.

"It's on the front of the card," Ryder answered.

"What?!" Carly exclaimed.

"What's wrong?" Ryder tilted his head and feigned innocence.

"There's no way she can afford this!"

"But she offered. You weren't planning on me buying were you?" Ryder asked Kellian.

"... Of course not," Kellian said through gritted teeth.

"See she's got this." Ryder had a look of accomplishment on his face.

After completing the course of exquisite food it was time for Kellian to die, "Excuse me. What's the total?"

"Oh. Isn't this going to Master Rhodes tab?" The girl asked confused.

"It is," Ryder replied. The girl walked away after confirming she wasn't needed.

"You mean..." Kellian realized what he was doing.

"You think I expected you to have enough money to pay for this?" Ryder scoffed.

"...Thank you." Kellian forced a smile. 'This stupid jerk!!!'

"You're welcome." Ryder smiled slightly.

Arriving home at about 1:00 am, Kellian was exhausted and went to bed. Her mother didn't arrive until later but she also went to bed immediately.

The next day Kellian got up ready to clean the house but heard voices. Kellian could not clearly hear what they were saying so she went on all fours and snuck over to the sitting room.

'Is Kaila talking to... Ein? Why would they be talking to each other!?' Kellian was perplexed.

"So, Mrs. Heart, Will you let me protect her?" Ein asked.

"I'm not married anymore. Kian Heart is dead. Just call me Kaila." Kaila said with a straight face.

"Okay..." Ein replied.

'Protect me from what? What is he talking about? And how could Kaila say that?!" Kellian was even more confused as the conversation went on.

Kaila seemed annoyed. "Let me get this right. She's been hanging out with some bad boys?"

"Yes, they might even be part of that group that has teenagers do their dirty work." Ein tried to make Ryder and the guys sound terrible.

"I'm surprised people want to talk to her." Kaila jeered. "So why exactly are you getting involved?"

"Because she's my friend. I promise I will do whatever you say I just want to protect her." Ein replied.

"Can you keep her out of the house?" Kaila suddenly became more interested in the conversation.

"Yes of course." Ein took this chance without hesitation.

"Perfect. It was starting to get difficult to come up with excuses." Kaila said happily.

"What?" Ein was confused.

"Don't worry about it." Kaila smiled.

"Anyway, if you let me I will promise to keep her safe." Ein continued.

"Oh wow! I'll call you when she can come home. Just keep her out." Kaila said excitedly.

'What the hell? I never expected her to accept. She's basically giving her daughter away and she's more concerned about me distracting Kellian.' Ein had no idea what was happening. "Perfect! I'll keep her safe and make sure those guys don't spread their bad influence." But he decided to play along anyway.

'Bad Influence!? If anyone's a bad influence it's you and your nasty group! I won't listen to him! Even if—'

"Oh and if she doesn't listen to you tell me. I have some new ways to get her to listen to me." Kaila smiled happily.

'Me and my big mouth.' Kellian cursed herself for speaking too soon.

"Okay, I–"

"Yeah yeah, you'll keep her safe from bad influence and whatever else you said. Just keep her out until I tell you to bring her home. Got it?" Kaila asked, interrupting Ein.

'She's not even trying to hide her intentions.' Ein faked a smile. "Yes ma'am."

"I said call me Kaila," Kaila said threateningly.

"Okay... Kaila." Ein replied.

"Hehe~ Come pick her up for school tomorrow morning."

'What the hell!?' Kellian could not believe what just happened.

"Uh... Be early or whatever. You should hurry along now before she gets down here and starts complaining. Kaila said practically pushing Ein out the door.

"Bye... Kaila " Ein said before she shut the door.

Kaila started yelling at Kellian when she got back."I know you're there, brat. Eavesdropping is rude. Since I'm feeling nice I'll let you go. Just listen to Ein. We don't want to have one of our sessions now do we?" Kaila mumbled under her breath, "Also, It would be bad for the..."

"How'd you know I was here?" Kellian asked.

"Because of your disgusting human smell. Idiot." Kaila sneered.

"Why would you do this? And what are you wearing?" Kellian questioned.

"Don't question me." Kaila glared. "Remember you'll get a punishment way worse than your last one if I hear you've disobeyed Ein." She whispered into Kellian's ear then walked past her.
