Kellian awoke to the sound of birds chirping. 'Birds? Singing? Birds rarely come to our house.' Kellian sat up and rubbed her eyes.
'Wait... This isn't my room... That's right! Leo was staying over and I fell asleep downstairs. He probably brought me here. I wonder is he awake right now.' Kellian went downstairs to see if he was up.
As soon as she reached the bottom of the staircase, her ears were filled with the mellifluous sound of someone very talented singing. Even the birds were singing along with it. Kellian was mesmerized and went towards the source.
Noticing someone approaching the room Leo stopped everything. After a tenth of a second, he determined that that person was indeed Kellian and continued.
At the source, she saw Leo cooking and singing while the birds that somehow found their way inside and danced and sang around him.
"Good morning, Kellian." Leo greeted Kellian when she entered the room then continued cooking but stopped singing.
Finally snapping out of her trance she noticed the sweet aroma of the food slowly filling her nostrils as she got closer. "Good morning." She replied.
"You didn't have to do this. I could have made breakfast." Kellian stated.
"No. You already let me stay the night free of charge and even entertained me. This is the least I could do to thank you." Leo smiled genuinely.
"I didn't know you could cook." Kellian changed the topic as she sat down.
"Yes. I had to cook for all the abandoned– I learned to cook so I could do it for charity." Leo smiled nervously.
"You cooked for orphans?" Kellian tried to guess what Leo wanted to say originally.
"... Something like that," Leo replied.
"It's good to know people care about them. All they want is love. I'm sure you made those children happy." Kellian commented.
"...Yeah...They...were...so...happy..." Leo seemed distant.
Kellian picked up on his distantness and changed the topic, "Ummm... You're very good at singing."
Leo blushed slightly, "You... heard that?"
"I did. Your voice is amazing!" Kellian complimented with a glowing smiled.
"T-Thank you." Leo blushed and looked away shyly.
"Even the birds liked your voice," Kellian added.
Leo frowned, "I forgot about that. It wasn't because they liked my voice."
"Then why were they here? Birds usually avoid this kill because my mother kills them." Kellian interrogated.
"I can't tell you," Leo answered.
"Why?" Kellian pouted.
Leo was taken aback by Kellian's reaction. He had never seen Kellian act this petty before. He tried to remain calm and shut her down, "Even if I did... you wouldn't believe me."
"Something unbelievable..." Kellian began to brainstorm, 'Birds that are terrified came here just because of Leo's voice. They sang and danced with him but when he stopped they flew away. When I heard it I was attracted to it. Mesmerized by it. Like hypnosis. That's it!' "Does it have something to do with hypnosis?" Kellian asked.
"How?" Leo was surprised.
"I don't know. You said it was unbelievable so I just thought that..."
"No. I meant how did you figure it out. My singing voice has the ability to hypnotize any living creature who hears it." Leo explains.
"Really!? That's amazing!" Kellian said excitedly.
"Yeah but that also means I can't sing for people." Leo sighed.
"Oh. But it was still so beautiful." Kellian stated.
"That's the thing. I may never be sure since the hypnosis spell appeals to the listener. It will sound good no matter who hears it." Leo frowned.
"Oh. I do have a slight resistance to hypnosis spells so if it helps... I think your voice sounds good." Kellian smiled genuinely.
"Slight resistance?" Leo questioned.
"Yes, my father taught me many things. Including how to defend against certain magic spells." Kellian explained.
"So you know about magic?" Leo asked.
"I do. Although my knowledge is very limited. Father said he'd teach me how to use magic when I got older... But he... you know...died before he had the chance." Kellian had a bittersweet smile.
'She's right my hypnosis spares no one. As long as you can hear my voice it will bring you to me and force you to do what I sing even if you were sleeping. Besides, this spell is most effective on humans. So she would have without a doubt started singing and dancing too. And what did she say? Humans can't learn magic so why would her father promise her that? And ordinary werewolves shouldn't know that much about magic. And to be able to teach her... What are you, Kellian? And who exactly was your father?'
"What are you cooking?" Kellian asked snapping Leo out of his thoughts.
"You'll see." Leo teased.
"No fair." Kellian pouted.
Leo smiled. 'Well, it doesn't matter. You're my friend and that's all I need to know.'
Kellian sat patiently, enjoying the wonderful aromas as Leo cooked. When he finished he neatly organized the table and the food.
"Woah. This looks amazing! But uhhh... what is it?" Kellian tilted her head.
"It's a Souffle Omelette and Eggs Benedict. It's best when eaten directly after preparation. If you don't it fast enough the Souffle will deflate." Leo warned.
Kellian took a few bites, 'The Omelette is perfect. It is nice and soft and it's like it melts in my mouth. It also jiggles like jelly when I touch it with my spoon. The Eggs Benedict is also delicious. The eggs are perfectly poached and the bacon is perfectly crispy. Overall this breakfast is perfect.'
"This is amazing! I wish the school lunch was at this level of amazing." Kellian joked.
"I could make your lunch every day if you want," Leo stated seriously.
"Really? It wouldn't be too much work would it?" Kellian asked.
"No. I already make lunch for my sister. I don't mind making some for you too." Leo explained. Then added, "I'm not that good though. Ryder is far better. I tried to copy what he made for me today but I failed. This is bland compared to his."
"I think this is really good," Kellian stated.
"That's because you haven't had Ryder's food," Leo replied.
"Is he that good?" Kellian asked.
"He could give you a plate of bugs and you'd still be amazed," Leo answered.
"Are you serious?" Kellian was surprised by how much Leo respects Ryder's cooking.
"Extremely. It tasted really good. Although I did throw up when he told me what it was. That jerk laughed at me and teased me for weeks." Leo complained.
"Ryder can laugh?" Kellian was shocked.
"Indeed he can. He rarely laughs though." Leo states.
"I don't think I've ever seen him smile so it's quite hard to imagine him laughing," Kellian explained.
"I know. He looks so much better when he's genuinely laughing or smiling. He looks like he wants to murder you when he tries to force a smile." Leo laughed.
"I see." Kellian and Leo continued to chat as they ate. When they were finished, Leo called his other chauffeur.
"You gave two chauffeurs!?" Kellian exclaimed.
"No, I have five. But I gave four of them a holiday since I don't need them all. This chauffeur decided to stay close by so I'm not bothering her too much." Leo corrected.
"I see..."
"Oh, I made some breakfast for your mother as well," Leo smirked.
"I thought you said it's only good when it's eaten right after preparation?" Kellian was confused.
"Exactly. She deserves it. Sadly it still tastes decent." Leo frowned.
"Oh." Kellian thought, 'It seems he still hasn't completely forgiven Kaila.'
"Don't be afraid to contact me if anything happens. I'll be there." Leo said with a worried look as he prepared to leave.
"Okay." Kellian smiled.
They said their farewells then Leo left.
Kellian washed up, read some books then went back to sleep.
'Do I still smell like alcohol? That brat has an amazing sense of smell. That's probably why she wasn't mad at me last time. She smelt the alcohol on me and forgave me. She's just as foolish as them. Sigh.' Kaila thought as she walked into the kitchen to get herself water.
That's when she saw the breakfast on the table waiting for her, 'She even made me breakfast again. She makes it so hard to hate her when I'm not looking at her face. She's the perfect child. But I can't be the mother she wants me to be because...' Kaila sat down and began eating.
"She's improved. This tastes pretty good. Although it's cold." Kaila commented aloud.
The weekend went by quickly and soon it was Monday.
"Kelly! Help me! I'm so nervous I can't stop shaking!!!" Carly ran over to Kellian immediately.
"Calm down. We're not confessing today. My plan will slowly take course over time. First I need you two to become friends. Then you'll ask him to the movies and depending on when the agreed time is we will figure out when you confess." Kellian explained the plan.
"So... We're going to be friends first?" Carly asked shyly playing with her fingers.
"Yes," Kellian replied. She had never had a sibling but Kellian felt like Carly would be an amazing younger sister. 'I will protect you no matter what! Because... I want to be your big sister. So trust in big sister, okay? I WILL make you happy!'
"And we'll confess after the movie?" Carly asked shyly, unintentionally snapping Kellian back to reality.
"Well, you will. I'm not confessing. Let's move one step at a time though. Let's greet him now." Kellian smiled.
"W-what!? Already?!" Carly yelled.
"I'm just introducing you two. The real plan starts at lunch." Kellian explained.
"O-okay..." Carly stuttered.
Kellian brought Carly over to the guys. She greeted them first, "Hey guys."
"Good morning, Kelly." Leo greeted back.
"Blueberry." Ryder acknowledged her presence without looking at her.
Dexter waved.
"G-good morning to you my Beta, Alpha and Delta." Carly greeted nervously.
Ryder raised his head and looked at her. He then scoffed and walked away.
"Good morning." Leo greeted. He then yelled, "Ryder!" and ran after him.
Dexter smiled and waved then ran after the two.
"Okay. Not the best start but it will do. Also, don't call them by their titles anymore. You're trying to become friends. Friends don't use titles." Kellian stated.
"Okay, I'll try," Carly replied.
"Good." Kellian smiled. "Operation capture his attention begins now!" Kellian said excitedly.
"Okay!" Carly matched Kellian's excitement.
"We will get him to notice you and you will confess your feelings!" Kellian said with a large smile.
"Y-yes ma'am."
"Ugh. Pathetic. Hyping her up won't change a thing. My sister will never be able to anything. I'll be the one taking all your advice. I'll make sure you fail to make my sister lead a happy life. That trash shouldn't even be called my sister!" Sally commented angrily as she angrily grabbed on to the railing in front of her.
"Ummm are you okay?" A random passerby asked genuinely worried about the girl's strange behaviour.
"Of course I am! Why wouldn't I be!?" Sally snapped at him.
"It's just that... you were talking to yourself with a scary look on your face." The boy tried to explain himself.
"Maybe I'd feel I ton better if you minded your own damn business, virgin!" Sally Insulted the boy then stormed off.
