Chapter 24 - Not a Pretty Chapter

"Ughh!" I groan from the pounding ache in my head. I roll over to bury my face into the pillow, but once I started to feel suffocated, I flipped back over.

I open my eyes, but shut them right away because of how bright it was in this room.

"Someone turn off the lights," I whisper out, not really believing anyone would listen.

"No problem," a voice answered me and I almost have a heart attack. My eyes shoot open in the partially dark room now and search for the voice.

I see Alaric standing by the door of the room, holding a tray of food. My eyes scan the room to see that this is indeed, not my room.

"No need to panic. Your in my room. I wanted to make sure you didn't choke on vomit," he tells me as he walks over to where I'm laying down.

How did I get here? I can't remember anything past Alaric biting me. After that, it's all darkness.

"What happened last night," I asked him, putting all my effort into sitting up on the bed. I noticed that I was no longer wearing my clothes from last night and I was now in a pair of shorts and a baggy t-shirt.

"You kind of threw up all over the guest bedroom floor and passed out. Drinking more than you can handle can do that to a person." I place the tray down on my lap. There were some nutella filled crepes and strawberries on the side, bacon, sausage, and a glass of orange juice.

"Thank you," I tell him, surprised. We haven't talked for like two weeks and now he was making me breakfast in bed.

"It always helped me with hangovers. Maybe it'll do the same for you." I get a flash of nausea at the smell of bacon and make a run to the bathroom. I kneel down at the toilet and shock from the content flowing out of my mouth consumes me.

I feel my hair being lifted out of my face and someone rub my back.

"It's alright. I'm here," Alaric tells me. I groan out in pain as my stomach contracts and forces me to throw up again.

"I don't feel good." I start to cry because of the pain in my throat.

"Do you want me to go get Petra," he asks me. He was starting to worry. I just nod my head. While he's gone, I crawl over to the tub to wash my mouth. I didn't have the strength to reach the sink.

"Oh no. Baby, what's wrong?" Petra runs over to me and tries to lift my head to see my face.

"I feel sick." Alaric helps me off the ground, but I can't seem to stand on my own.

"She needs to eat something. She can't even walk," Alaric tells Petra.

"Okay. You have to brush your teeth, so can eat. Can you do that?"

"Someone has to help me stand."

Alaric helps me to the sink and I brush my teeth. He held me up the whole time.

After I was done, Petra decided it was better for me to be in my own room. Alaric carried me to my room and laid me on my bed.

"Try eating some of the food," Alaric says and I shake my head no. He breathes out a sigh and I see him cut up some pieces of crepe.

"Here. Eat at least one piece." Alaric feeds me a couple of pieces and I tell him I don't want the bacon. After I was done, I went back to sleep because I was exhausted.

It didn't last long because my body woke me up again to throw up. Petra had to leave a bucket by my bed and it was stinking up the room. Alaric stayed and slept next to me, holding me.

I guess Gianna decided to leave him alone today and I didn't have the power to push him away.

My dad made me some soup that I ate and eventually threw up. He stayed with me too, but sat in a chair somewhere in my room. I'm surprised he didn't kick Alaric out.

The girls checked on me too, but I told them they didn't have to stay and that it was just a stomach bug.

I didn't know what was going on. Nothing I ate wanted to stay down.

I just tried to focus on the warmth Alaric was giving me and this weird unknown feeling from the bite mark on my shoulder.
