Chapter 29 - Its That Time of the Year

"Finally, your back! Your feeling better now?" Tarry practically jumps on me when he comes in for a hug. He nearly squeezes the death out of me.

"I won't be fine if you don't let me loose soon," I tell him, struggling for air. My body really isn't the same with this baby inside of me. I really need to make an appointment before I start to show.

"You have no idea how much everyone has missed you. Cranky Linda even asked for you."

"Your lying. Cranky Linda only knows how to send me disgusted faces." We both laugh and Gio pops up behind Tarry, scaring him.

"Hey, pretty boy," Gio says, hugging Tarry and gives him a kiss on the cheek. Tarry shys away and blushes like he's never been kissed before.

"I see I've missed a lot," I say with a big smile on my face, gesturing to the two love birds in front of me. Tarry tries to act like he doesn't know what I'm talking about, while Gio face turns pink for the first time ever.

"Oh my goodness! You guys are so cute! When were you guys going to tell me you were in a relationship," I scream in bewilderment. The hallways were still surprisingly empty and it gave me the courage to scream without fear of punishment.

"Geez, Anne! You're damaging my ears. Can you take it down a notch," Gio says, laughing. I forgot about his super wolf hearing.

"Sorry," I apologize in a normal tone.

"We didn't want you to feel like you were missing anything while you were sick, but we were going to tell you when it was the right time. Gio just doesn't know how to keep a surprise," Tarry says rolling his eyes.

"Your so cute when your mad at me," Gio tells Tarry and it successfully gets him blushing again.

I'm third wheeling so hard. Spain, but the s is silent.

"I'm just going to head to class. You guys are cute and everything, but I don't feel like third wheeling," I tell them, slowly walking away.

"Wait! We actually need your help. Do you have time," Tarry asks me.

"What do you need help with? I'll tell you if I'm busy or not depending on what you want me to do." I couldn't do anything too seriously. I didn't want to risk passing my limit with this baby in me. I feel slower than usual and didn't want to pass out from overexhaustion.

"We're helping Tarry's sister set up for prom and we could use some extra hands."

"Wait. Its prom already?" I know I came late in the school year, but is time really moving so fast?!

"Yeah. You've been gone for quite some time. So, will you help us" Tarry asks. I've never met his sister now that I've thought about it. I didn't have much to do in class anyways.

"Alright, I'll help. Should I call the other girls and ask them if they want to help," I ask them, pulling out my phone.

"NO," they both yell too eagerly, weirding me out. "What we meant was that we asked them already and they said they were going to be busy in class," Tarry says. The both of them looked nervous.

"Okay," I say slowly, not believing them.

"Lets go. We don't have all day," Gio says, taking Tarry and I and running towards the gym.

When we got there, there were five other people inside, one of which I remembered from the first day I got here.

"Finally, you guys made it." A girl that looked almost exactly like Tarry came up to us.

This was definitely his sister. No one could say other ways. Her hair is dyed into an ombre, but I knew blonde was her natural color just like Tarry. If anything was a give away that they were siblings was there copies of bright, blue eyes.

"Great to finally meet you, Anne. My brother has told me a lot about you." Before I knew it, she was pulling me into a warm hug. Her bright personality is another reminder of her brother.

"Tracy, your going to suffocate her," Tarry says and Tracy pulls away laughing.

"Sorry about that. I just get very excited when I meet new people. Let me introduce you to the others." She talked really fast, but it wasn't annoying. It was funny to watch her so overjoyed.

"First, this is my lovely boyfriend, AJ. He's pretty outgoing and loud like me, so just warning you. Then there's Holly and Peter. There pretty overprotective of each other, so don't be offended if Holly sends you an angry glare. She just has to get used to you and realize your not a threat to her relationship. Last but not least, this is my best friend , Nadia. She's pretty rude when you first meet her, but I promise it's all a cover up and she's really nice once you get to know her."

Tracy goes through introduction so fast that it almost gives me whiplash. Her boyfriend AJ is about the same height as her, 5'6, and looks pretty ordinary, which is not bad. Not everyone has to look like Gio with his platinum hair and blue eyes.

Holly had a scary smile plastered on her face. It was creepy and I knew if I tried anything with Peter, the boy next to her, that I'd get an eye clawed out. Peter wasn't really much to look at to be honest.

Last of all was the girl Nadia, the one I met in the office on my first day of school. I can't view her as being a nice person when she was so rude that day in the office. I could tell she remembered me because she sent me an eye roll.

"How wonder," I say, sarcastically.

"I'll stay out of your way if you stay out of mine," Nadia says, getting ready to walk away and go back to decorating.

"Nadia, be nice," Tracy tells her. Nadia turns back to me with an annoyed expression.

"I'm sorry for being rude, Anne. Can we be best friends," she asks sarcastically.

"With that sarcasm, I'd love to be your best friend," I say with my favorite fake smile.

"Let's just get started on preparing the gym for prom," AJ says, changing the subject and everyone agrees.

Tracy pulls Alaric along to help her put up streamers and Gio pulls me over to help set up the voting booth.

"Forget about decorating, Anne. That's not what we're here for," Gio says and pulls me to duck under the booth.

"Wait, what are you doing," I ask him. I was being squished under the table.

"I need you to help me with my promposal," he tells me in a whisper.
