As Daniel started fighting the hordes that charged him, he was confused. Nowhere in his memories did he find such a scene as getting charged by an Army. Finally, he had enough. He stood straight up, and started walking towards the middle of the Army. He ignored every sword swing, arrow and spell thrown at him. He was a level 400 Swordsman, after all. These level 50 knights had no chance to scratch him. "Hmm, so this world did become like a video game." Daniel says as he looks around. Right now, he was sad. His homeland had turned into a video game for the Gods, and even though Apollyr was giving him the chance to save this world, he hated feeling like a pawn. Ignoring the hostile looks and angry glares, Daniel walks right up to what he could only assume were the kings' quarters.
"I know you are in there, get out here before I begin to massacre your subordinates." Daniel calls out in a heavy tone.
As Daniel waits for the answer, he stands there proudly. He draws upon his former experience as a king, smirking at the Army with a royal pride to add to his image. He did not even have to draw his sword once as he had essentially waltzed through the Army. Looking at the crest, he is saddened to see it was not the kingdom he had been a king of before. Looking back at Daniels memories, he can fill in the blanks of all the information he was missing. He had, after all just awoken to being fired upon by spells without having the chance to compartmentalize the information he had.
Standing there in place while waiting for the king and his entourage, Daniel looks back at his memories.
The Rise of Enam had been a game introduced to the US in 2000. It had first started out like a certain league game with keyboard and mouse being the way to play. As technology became more advanced, VRMMO became popular starting in 2015. At first, it was just Bluetooth headsets that allowed gamers to enter the virtual world, but in 2018, the gaming capsule became increasingly popular. In 2020, a survey found that the top 1% of all gamers had the gaming capsules.
Like with all VRMMO games, the Rise of Enam was a very lucrative game. It brought in development from all over the world, and it was the first company to earn upwards of 10 trillion US dollars. As the game became more popular, leagues and subcategories were expanded. Players had the option to start off as base classes found in many VRMMO games. The base classes started off as: Swordsman, Mage, Beserker, and Healer. They were then given the chance to upgrade or change classes with each tier they reached. The highest tier reached so far in the game was Tier 5, and only 100 of the 1 billion players had reached that mark. The highest levelled player was also currently level 550. Each tier represented 100 levels.
Currently, Daniel was a level 400 Tier 4 Swordsman. His attributes were weak for a purely offensive swordsman, but he used magic with his subclass; ArchSwordsman. Archswordsman was a class that used magic expansively with swordsmanship. It was a powerful class, and he had been given the subclass after defeating an old dragon named Kies. Instead of slaying the Dragon, Daniel had befriended the dragon and received the ancient class. Little had he known that the subclass he had chosen was the class that the former king, Rapham had had.
After analyzing his stats and classes, Daniel was speechless. "You have got to be kidding me. Apollyr, you messed with the fates of these worlds this much?" He says, shocked. Not only was there now a level up system in Enam that had not been there 100 years ago, but humans from earth were also able to access such a system. Knowing human greed, Daniel could see how the wicked God had come to be. Humans always wanted more. No wonder why he had been given this mission. "Fucking shit, I didn't realize it would be this bad." He says as he looks at the king finally coming out of his royal tent.
An occurrence that Daniel had not expected came next. The king kneeled to him! After the king kneeled, the rest of the Army followed suit. Orders were given as the Army took some time to adapt to the new situation. When everything finally settled, the king cried out "Lord Swordsman! Please find it in your heart to forgive these foolish ones!" He cries out desperately. "We had received intelligence that an opposing army was in our territory, so we came to this spot. Please, Lord, forgive these men for such an insight. Take my head as penance, Lord." The king cries. "My people need not suffer any longer if milord wishes."
For the first time in all four of his lives, Daniel was shocked. He looks at the man and sighs. "Rise. You are a king. Such a man of your stature should never kneel to another. It is beneath your station. As for penance, give me one legendary artifact from your kingdom, preferably a sword. If you do so, all will be forgiven." As Daniel calls out his requests, the king nods. Such a request was well within his thoughts. "If milord so pleases, I have a royal tent over yonder. We can retire and discuss further reparations." Daniel nods as the king rises. This was the perfect chance to gain intel on the state of the world, and everything that had happened in the last 100 years. "Very well. I have been travelling for a long journey. Lead the way, I would like to garner information from your estate." Following their conversation, the Army rises with its kings. Captains commanded each unit to their battle stations, and Daniel follows the king into the royal tent.
