With it being Thursday, the friends were standing in the hallway, looking a little bit sleepless.
"Ay, you haven't gotten a drop from enemies in a while, remember when you got Slime Masses and Cores, now you just aren't getting them." Quast said to his friend while they were in school on a little bit darker than usual Thursday.
"I guess I really am that unlucky, huh?" Jerry looked down at the ground. "Hmm, I wonder what we will do today." he changed the topic.
"I dunno, but the time table said we have 3 lessons instead of 2 today." Quast responded.
"Pain." Jerry answered.
"Agreed." Quast paused. "So what now?"
"Now we wait." Jerry looked at the clock in the hallway, there were only 5 minutes left until the first lesson began. "I wonder if anything exciting will happen today."
"It's just a normal school day, probably nothing." Quast responded.
A few minutes later they found themselves in the classroom, and the thing that no one wanted to hear was said "Alright, we are going to slowly start a transition to our regular schedule, and subjects." the teacher said.
"Well, it was bound to happen some day." everyone in the class had the same exact thought.
"Let's start with a fun math game, and then we will do a worksheet." by the time Miss Johnston said that, everyone's joy was drained.
The 'fun' game was just Hangman with the names of mathematical terms, only 6 people out of the students that were in the class got a turn, none of which were Quast or Jerry, since by the time the last one got done, the lesson had already ended, and the teacher wanted to continue the next one with a worksheet.
The worksheet was pretty easy for everyone, but it was followed by 2 more, and some people had difficulties with them, so the 2nd lesson ended with only some people being done with the worksheets, that included, but was not limited to Albert, Jerry and Quast.
On the third lesson, the teacher was switched, and they had English for the last lesson. The English teacher, Kyle Jackson walked into the room, and set his bag on the teacher's desk.
To the relief of everyone, the first English lesson that they've had in a while, wouldn't be one filled worksheets and unfun things, but instead it was just mediocre games.
"And that concludes today." Jerry said, and picked up his backpack from the ground.
"Yeah." Quast mumbled.
The friends said their goodbyes, and Quast biked back home, while Jerry just walked. He arrived home quite fast, because of his high Agility.
Jerry's mom didn't have work today, so she was just at home, watching TV. When she heard Jerry entering the house, she went to the door "Before you take your shoes off, I'd like you to run to the store, and buy some stuff. I'm making spaghetti for dinner today." she handed him a piece of paper with all the groceries written on it and a 10 dollar bill.
"Okay.. but where am I going to be carrying the groceries?" Jerry asked.
"You can buy a paper bag from the store." his mother responded.
"Nah, I have a better idea. Here take my pencil case and my notebook, since these are the only things we need for school, and put them on the desk in my room." Jerry now had an empty backpack with him. "Bye." he said, and closed the door behind him as he went outside once again, but this time to the store.
In the store, Jerry looked at the piece of paper, the first thing was tomato sauce, so he got that, and put it in the backpack. The next thing on the list was tomato paste, Jerry also got that, and also found its place within the backpack. He opened the fridge where all the meats were, and pulled out some ground beef, because it was on the list.
Jerry decided that he wanted to buy something for himself, and called his mother. "Mom, can I buy myself something."
"What do you want to buy yourself?" his mother asked on the phone.
"Hmm.. maybe some microwaveable popcorn."
"As long as you have enough money for everything." Jerry's mom said.
"Alright, thanks."
Jerry walked towards the snack-aisle, there he searched around for where the popcorn were, that's when someone caught his attention. "No way." he muttered, and walked towards that person.
"Is that lightning guy?" Jerry said just loud enough so that the person in interest could hear him.
The young person, who had black hair, was of medium hight, and was wearing a sweatshirt and jeans turned around to look at Jerry.
"You're that lightning dude that broke the windows at the school." Jerry said, a little bit quieter.
"I've never heard of that person." The lightning user lied, and looked away to avoid eye contact.
"Hmm.." Jerry, for some reason, was filled with quite a bit of confidence.
"Look bro, yes that was me, but I didn't know it would turn out like that." after some careful consideration the lightning ability user said.
"So what happened after? I mean you're the reason the school closed pretty much, and by the way, thanks."
"I don't see the reason why I should answer that."
"Damn.. ok." Jerry turned around, and walked away. When there was a significant distance between them, he opened the chat and told Quast that he had met the 'lightning dude'. That was the most exciting thing that had happened today. Then, after coming back home, Jerry thought who would win if he, and the person with the lightning power fought.
For Quast however, nothing special had happened today, and so he repeated his daily schedule of playing games, and then going to bed.
It was still only 3:00PM by then, and Jerry didn't want to do anything, except go for a walk.
Out of his home, Jerry saw the public fitness place behind the playground that was stationed a little bit farther in front of his house, he got a great idea to test his strength there. The appliance that he had used before to test his strength was located there in all its previous glory. The weights were set to 50 kilograms and Jerry pulled on the handle that was attached to a strong plastic cable, it was very easy for him to pull that weight, so he set it to 70, and that was pretty easy too. 90 was the next one, and even though it was harder than 70, it was still easy.
Being able to pull 90 kilograms was astonishing for him, but the machine could go to 105, so that meant one thing. The weights were put to 105, and he pulled, expecting it to be levels harder, yet it was just a little bit harder than 90.
Jerry did 20 pulls with the 105 kilograms, and the right posture until he decided it was time to go home.
Some hours later it was night, everyone went to bed a little bit happier, for tomorrow would be Friday, the day the quests would be refilled, and this meant that Jerry could get back to levelling up again.
