Chereads / MON AMOUR / Chapter 10 - Day 1

Chapter 10 - Day 1

She entered the woods and followed the trees. She thought that yeah, there might be some animlas or sort but in the deepness of that dark forest, not up front. At last, she found a spot hidden from the view of the mansion but from where she could see the Simmons resident.

She sat down on the forest ground and waited and waited. Finally, somone appeared. A man dressed in all black. 'Wait' Adina thought,'this is the same man from that day. That rude guy.' After him two well built figures came into her field of view. One man had copper brown hair and the other one had black hair colour. She instantly recognized them as Ian and Aiden Simmons respectively, thanks to the blurry or back profile pictures that she found while she was collecting every information about them. From the distance she couldn't properly see their facial features.

They, with that rude man, got in a car and might have left for their office. She noted the time in her small notepad that she carried in her jeans back pocket. Adina wanted to follow them to their work but in doing so she could risk blowing her cover and so she thought better of it. She even clicked a few pictures of them, though it wasn't clear but she could tell the difference. She hated being a stalker but none can do anything when her job asked her to do such things. She waited there in the forest for hours. Thankfully, she had packed a small lunch from the same stall on the way. It was nearly six when the car returned.

Both the brothers got out and went straight inside the manor. She again noted the time of their return. Just as she put the notepad back, her phone rang and she almost got a heart attack. She picked up the call and from the other side her mom asked,"Hey sweetie, how've you been?"

"I'm good, maa. What about you?"

"I'm as good as one can be."

She smiled then asked,"And how's dad?"

There was a pause before her mom answered,"Well, the doctor says he's recovering at a normal pace."

"Oh!" she sighed then continued,"Don't worry maa, he'll be good soon."

"Hmm.. Now tell me, have you forgotten that you have a family here? After you left for work, you seem to have forgotten us. Your calls are on a declining phase even after you promised to call me frequently." Her mother scolded her.

"Maa .. forgive me, please. I have a lot of work load right now and my thoughts are all over the place. I'll try my best to call you frequently. Sorry?" she pouted even if she knew no one could see her.

"Alright! *sigh* take care and don't overwork yourself. You know you are very preious to me honey.''

She smiled," Of course maa and by the way, did u receive the money I sent?"

"I did and don't worry, everything is fine here."

"I love you Maa. Talk soon."

"I love you too sweetheart."

With that they cut the call. Adina smiled to herself and let out a contented sigh. Everytime she talked to her mom she felt lighter and happier even after knowing her father hasn't recovered yet. An year and a half ago her dad got a paralysis attack and at that time she left all her work and went home. Her mom broke down in her arms and it was at that time that she firmly decided to work hard for her family and that has always been her only goal to focus on. She was determined to make them happy and give them a better life.

The night fell and she was bored and hungry. As soon as the clock struck 10, she got up and started walking away from the forest. Just as soon as she had started walking, she saw 4 figures emerging from the gates of the manor. The Simmons brothers, the rude man and the last one was a female, maybe a maid. The 4 of them started walking towards the dark forest and Adina, heart pounding at a rapid speed in her chest, ran as fast as her legs could take her. 'Had they discovered her? No, it wasn't possible but then, why were they coming towards the forest?' This was the thought that she had in her mind while she was going back to her condo in the cab.

She said to herself,"I'll find out tomorrow." She asked the driver to wait then entered her home, took a small bag out and packed some necessities, clothes and other stuff and went back again to the village. She decided to stay in the same motel for the week.
