Chapter 13 - She knows the truth

The next day when Adina woke up, she was lying on a very comfortable mattress. She found herself in an unfamiliar room. The sheets, the pillow, the mattress, everything was unfamiliar to her. She rubbed her eyes then temples and snapped up with attention when she heard someone say,'She is up.' The events of the last night came crashing like a nightmare in her head. 'Crap, it wasn't a dream. They are really what I think they are. And so that means right now I'm in Simmons Mansion' she thought. Her senses became hyper sensitive at that realization.

Before she could take in her surroundings, the familiar maid came in and said coldly,"Follow me." With such a stern look in her direction, Adina couldn't do anything so she just nodded and followed her. A hallway and a flight of stairs down, she followed the maid closely and entered through the wooden doors of an office.. it seemed.

Behind the large black desk, she saw both the brothers sitting and looking at her with an intense gaze. All the attention and the intensity every one of those eyes held, made Adina feel intimidated. She felt scared, out of place, like she shouldn't be here and she was right in feeling so. The rude man was also standing right next to the twins and looking at her impassively.

She cleared her throat, suddenly she felt really very thirsty. She couldn't hold their gazes so she looked down at her feet instead. A few glances in the twins' direction was enough for Adina to tell that they were the most handsome, dashing and well built men that she had ever seen in her life. They were deadly handsome.

Aiden Simmons, the one she bumped into last night, had piercing emerald green eyes which once casted upon you, you'll feel like they're burning your bare skin to penetrate through your very soul. The emotions, raw in those eyes. A chiseled jaw and a light stubble never looked better on any other man. His skin colour was light and those black hair were sleaked back and styled with gel, not a single strand of hair out of it's place. He was wearing a navy blue suit with waistcoat and white shirt underneath with a golden brown tie.

As for Ian Simmons, his eyes were amber coloured and those eyes held so much intensity that you can't help but be drawn to them. Ian also had a chiseled jawline but shaved. Both the brothers shared the same skin colour and Ian's hair were cropped and he had an undercut. He was wearing a brown suit with white shirt but the colour of his tie was a little shade darker than his suit. The twins were so similar yet so different.

The silence seemed to stretch on for an eternity. The sun rays, after filtering through the windows, when casted upon them, made them glow and Adina felt more and more intimidated by every passing seconds.

In a slow and husky voice, Aiden asked,"Who are you and what were you doing in the forest last night?" She froze and thought,' What should I do? What should I reply? Shall I speak the truth or not? But if I told the truth, I highly doubt I'll be able to escape this mansion.' When she didn't reply, Aiden said,"You might want to tell the whole truth. We already have your phone, purse and... your notepad."

Hesitatingly she looked up, not meeting their eyes though and said,"Well, then y-you must already know the a-answer of-of your f-first question and... umm.. f-for the sec-second one.." after a long pause she shuttered, "I-I was-.. I was actually.. umm.."

"We don't have the whole day, miss." Ian's cold voice echoed in her head.

"You have my belongings so you must already know who I am and what I do. M-my company w-wanted to have an in-interview wi-with you b-but you.. I mean... " she trailed off.

"You were spying on us."

It wasn't a question but a statement by Ian. Adina lowered her head and looked at the floor again. It wasn't the whole truth but neither was it a lie. She was ashamed as well as terrified.

"What do you know about us? What did you see?" Aiden asked coldly.

"I.. what?.. oh! I .. n-nothing. I didn't-"

She got cut off by Ian who said, voice raised than normal,"Bullshit."

"No! I..... I don't believe... I don't remember. "

Under the scrutinizing gazes, it was really hard to lie and Adina's voice cracked as she said,"I.. I saw b-blood b-but those things a-aren't real, are they? They are just fantasies, right? You-...." she trailed off yet again.

Both brothers smirked and Ian said,"Yeah" in a mocking tone. Ian looked at his twin then said,"We can't let her go."

Adina got more terrified when Aiden replied simply, with no feelings shown in his voice or his eyes,"Of course we can't. She knows the truth."
