I left Cleus office at night and, though the bright twin moons glowed brightly in rich red skies tonight felt different from others; cold air nibbled my exposed skin. My lungs started clasping on itself as I struggled to breath, my throat burnt like a furnace and staying conscious wasn't worth the pain. My eyes began drifting close as a warm arm snake around my waist, picking me up. I fell into a dark unconscious state where only I existed with my thoughts. They soon took form haunting and taunting me of my fears, it felt as though years had gone by and dying seemed like a better option yet I had a life to protect. Closing my eyes, I focused on my breathing blocking out the demons plaguing me and pictured my true self. I opened my cage of insecurities, of being a Chaos child and accepted what it meant. It felt like electricity coursing throughout my body before my eyes sprun open to be met with an empty room.
It was dark and luminated by three candles placed along velvet blue walls. I laid on a King sized bed covered in silk, my brain had not even processed the events leading to my current situation when a tall brunette male walk through the door. He made cautious steps towards me once noticing my awaken state. I narrowed my eyes at him, irritated by his actions.
"Why am I here?" He looked at me for a minute before answering.
"You were almost attacked in the street, I helped you but you were unconscious....." I smiled understanding what he was trying to explain.
"Thank you" My smile seemed to have caught him off guard as he almost drop the tray in his hands.
"Th-th-this is someth-th-thing for you t-to eat" he offered the tray avoiding eye contact.
"Thank you" he turned to leave, "Sorry, I never got your name" he turn his head look at me with the ghost of a smile.
"Quinn" he proceeded to leave.
"Thank you, Quinn" I shouted to him before the door shut.
I ate, what has to be the most delicious sandwich ever made. After I had finish eating, I patiently waited for Quinn to return which he did a few hours later.
"Quinn?" I called as he checked an injury i had gotten on my feet.
"Yes" he frown looking at the bleeding wounds left behind by demon spikes.
"Ashlin" he looked at me, "That's my name, Ashlin." he smile nodding, "Hades, I am grateful you rescued me....." I trailed off trying to find the right words.
"You want to go home" he said softly to which I nodded, "Okay" he bandaged my wound and pick me up, bridal style "Where are going?"
"Lucan's residence" he looked at me as though asking if he heard corrctly, "Please" he sighed before a violet portal open.
Quinn carried me through and we walked onto Lucan's front lawn which might not had been the smartest idea as we were immediately surrounded by dozens of armed demons. A path cleared amd Quinn walk catiously towards the front door. It laid open we shared a look of anxiety before Quinn stepled inside where Layton, Lucan, Cleus and Cerberus sat talking to other demons. They all looked up in sync as I waved nervously, Lucan and Layton were beside us in second separating Quinn and I. Quinn was pinned to the floor by Layton who held a murderous look.
"Stop, you'll hurt him!" I shouted to Layton who looked shocked by my request, "He saved me" Layton blinked a few times before slowly releasing Quinn.
"Explain" Lucan stated carrying me over to an empty sofa.
"When I left Cleus, I felt something..... different. It felt ominous and deadly before I could decide whether to return to Cleus or make the journey home, I suddenky became unable to breath and my throat burnt immensely. Before I feel unconscious I felt Quinn saving me" Lucan turned to the anxious male standing at the door.
Quinn looked up and I was in awe at his pastel pink and vibrant purple eyes, "I was walking home when, I sensed a strong energy when I followed it, Ashlin was standing with demon spike growing under her feet"
Lucan pulled off the bandage examining my wounds his devil stirred and I can see the monstrous beast awakening. Placing my forehead against his, I assured him I am fine but honestly, the pain was overwhelming and my mind was a mess. A warm flame appeared in the palm of his hands and he passed it on my wounds; the warm heat tingling my skin healing each wound.
"I'm sorry" he apologized but it wasnt his fault and my heart ached knowing he blamed himself for not protect me.
"I'm fine, Luc" I smiled hugging him close.
Lucan carried me to my bedroom though my feet were perfectly fine, now yet he insisted on staying. I looked over at the male who laid with his eyes close beside me, I couldn't help thinking of our child and who they'll most likely resemble.
"What mischievous thoughts do you have now?" Lucan asked not even sparing a glance at me.
"How do you know I'm having mischievous thoughts?" I retorted defensively
"That smile of ours says it all"
"An what if I was thinking about our child?" I whispered in his ear.
Lucan turned staring at me, "What's there to think about? They'll be perfect, you're their mother" he said this as though it was the most obvious thing.
"Wow, you have high hopes for me" I mumbled
"No, I'm speaking on what I've seen" he pulled me to his chest planting a little kiss on my forehead.
I looked up into his eyes looking for any sight of deciet or lies instead all I found was his deep affection for me. Placing my lips against his, he gave me a passionate kiss before pulling away and hugging me close.
"Goodnight, Luc" I yawn out.
"Goodnight, my little chaos" he kissed my head wishing me sweet dreams viod of pain or hurt.
