Chapter 1 - First Blood(Breed)

Lights flicker uncontrollably, heart beats one hundred twenty times a minute and the bed shakes back and forth. Sweat dribbles down my face and I can't see.

"Calm down! Calm down! I need more over here now!" Someone yells.

I can't take it. These restraints won't hold me down forever. I need to break free. I need to get out. I don't belong here. I give one last push and my body whines. This baby doesn't care if there is a raging storm outside or not because this baby is coming and this baby is coming out now.

Travel back in time with me. The human body is eight percent blood and sixty percent water. There are thirty trillion cells, two hundred six bones, seventy five thousand enzymes, and one hundred twenty one thousand molecules in the human body. The rest of the human body consists of only one thing. Chocolate! At least mine does. When you're pregnant and you ask for anything no one can tell you no.

Chocolate, milk, eggs, and nuts are the top four things people are allergic to so if I can get her to like chocolate then that is one less thing she is allergic too. It's a win win right?

The air outside looks calm and peaceful. A slight breeze blows in from the north and the trees start to sway. My eyes scan the horizon and rest on the nearby hill. They go to leave but wait! What is that? My eyes zoom in for a closer look. Oh no! How'd they get here so fast. How'd they find me? I knew I took extra steps and precautions to stay off the radar. I guess it wasn't enough. Fear overtakes me and I frantically pack.

It wasn't my fault. I only slept with the guy once. He forced himself on me anyways. How was I to know? I was seventeen and he was twenty. Lo and behold he was the king's son and I just a beautiful girl at the wrong place at the wrong time. I didn't even belong there. Humans and half-breeds don't live together. I've been a carrier ever since but once he found out that I was pregnant and bearing our child he told the king. The king assembled an army to take back what was his but I was not where they thought I was. Now I run for my life and the life of our baby. He told them that I was the bad girl and that he would raise the child to hate humans like half-breeds have done for centuries. I can't let him and won't. I know his evil ways. I may not be of high stature but I am now. I have a once in a lifetime chance and I will not screw it up. This baby could be the key to finally bringing us two together.

They are not messing around this time. I can see the torches and guns marching this way. I quickly sneak out the back. Adrenaline overtakes me and I take off on a run. Got to catch my breath. I look back and try not to cry. There is nobody on the hilltop and the breeze stills. My house sits lonely and abandoned then from the trees a ball of fire flings. I can't stop it. It hits my house and is instantly engulfed in flame.

Two more balls are flung from the hills but they're not aimed at my house. They're coming straight for me. I try to move but my body freezes up. I'm about to shield my eyes and close them when all of a sudden the balls of fire stop mid-air. Has time slowed somehow? They start to spin then are sent back to where they came blowing up in the distance.

I turn and face...the woods. No one is there. The bushes rustle and a small redhead peeks her head out to see if the coast is clear then quickly ducks down. She emerges and I guessed right. I would say she is only twelve at the most. A breeze passes by and her black skirt flows effortlessly in the wind. Her hair blows in her face and she can't see. She tries to hold her skirt down but it uplifts.

I catch something out of the corner of my eye and she does too. A man jumps from the bushes and lands on her. She fends him off then levitates him into the air throwing him backwards hard until he is impaled on an outstretched limb and blood falls. He twitches once...twice...three times...then no more. It all happens so fast. She drops him and I head to the nearest tree to throw up behind it.

A hand pats me on the back then rubs back and forth.

"Hello half-breed!"

I stop in my tracks and slowly turn around.

"You know the whole entire town is looking for you. The king has put out an excessive decree. There is a bounty on your head girl. Half-Breeds are not allowed here."

"You too? I'm not a half-breed!"

"She walks closer.

"No, you're not a half-breed not one bit." She touches my belly. "But that life in you is. Do you know who the first half-breeds were?"

I shake my head no.

Giants! Lucifer sent his angels down to earth to conceive women to have half-breeds. In turn when these babies were born they were both human and gigantic. They were insanely tall and ridiculously strong. The reason there are 'giants' nowadays is thanks to the flood. Giants of today however are usually born with a disease and are a ton smaller. Now none of Noah's family were giants but that doesn't mean one was a carrier without knowing. So giants nowadays are 'man-made' and not born with the help of angels.

The next half-breed wasn't a half-breed at all. Luci had his turn so now it was Gods. He sent an angel to Mary and she conceived a half-man, half-prophet, full angel boy. There have only been four 'half-breed'/angel births in the Bible and only three 'half-breeds' in human history outside of the Bible. Those were the ones recorded. That's not a lot."

"Umm. Excuse me one second. What does this have to do with me and who are you? Zion was and is no angel to the best of my knowledge."

"I know he wasn't but none of those births were planned besides the first two. I mean yes some of them asked for a half-breed but none of them planned the day nor the hour in which it would happen. Ultimately He decided who to send angels and who not too. Their life was messy and not much happened before but now they had something that was more precious than anything else in the world. They had a once in a lifetime experience. You have that and I'm a witch. Well I'm a sorceress right now actually; more of an apprentice.

I looked at her cross-eyed.

"I go to the School for The Gifted."

"Ooh, so that's what those schools are every time I pass one. I get it now."

"You do!?"

Her face was pure joy. I sadly let her down and her countenance fell.

"We should get going." She said slowly. "More will come. Try to keep up.
