Chapter 5 - The last drop (Birth)

"Summer, where are you? My voice shakes and I stumble over things until I reach the LIGHTSWITCH.

Panic starts to set in. "Where is she?" I think to myself as horrible thoughts race my mind. My eyes dart around the room and they settle on the floor. One tiny drop of water. A pathway! I look more closely and there is a trail of water. They took her. The Baby! I frantically and hurriedly follow the droplets of water out the door, down a few halls and finally down a barely lit corridor.

The lights flicker and my eyes struggle to adjust. My hand slides to the blade under my shirt and I walk forward. With every step there are bloody claw marks etched into the wall. They weren't human. She has merged. I quicken my pace and reach the end of the corridor.

Al that sis is a lonely small lit room with an arched door. I have to stand on my tiptoes to peer in. The floor gives and I slip to the floor in a thud. Heads turn and footsteps are heard inside. I clutch a little tighter on the blade until the footsteps stop and everything dies down. I wait a few minutes to make sure they walk away then I cloak and sneak in.

There she is strapped to the chair like a wild animal. Like those restraints are going to hold her! She rages and turns and they try to hold her down but the restraints snap off like rubber-bands. One of the guys can't get back fast enough out of her reach and she slashes and grabs. He flies through the air like a rag-doll and crashes head first into the door. The baby is nowhere to be seen. I step over the dead body and walk in. This time no heads turn which sends an uneasy feeling in my stomach. What are they doing over there?

I need a better look. Without thinking I see my girl, race towards her and then get propelled forcedly back until I land on my haunches. They're here!

A hand drives a needle through her neck but it does no damage. She just pulls it out and stabs the guy with it.

"I NEED IN THERE!!" I say, and charge the wall with a chair but instead of the wall breaking the chair does and in a million small pieces too.

They finally suppressed her with the sharpest needle they could find. Bodies lay everywhere but she was unconscious. They restrapped the belts and made sure to double lace them. That was a close one. Hopefully that was the last scare. Deep down inside I had a bad feeling those straps wouldn't hold and would break just the same.

I can't take it. How did he break that wall? Think, girl think. Wait a minute. I remember my mom telling me that simple is the best tool and everything builds off of it. Common sense! The strongest magic is the belief in magic. If you don't believe in magic you'll never see it and it'll never be there. If I don't believe I can do magic or anything then I won't be able to do anything. So if I believe…*one step….their is no wall….*two steps…. then the wall…*third step…..cannot exist and henceforth will fall. I'm in. Everyone stops what they're doing the second I cross and stare at me. Our eyes lock for a piercing moment then I strike.

One of them throws a needle at me and I catch it then throw it back with equal force. It hits his heart and he falls down. The others unfreeze and step into action.

One after another they form balls of fire out of their hands and rapid fire. I easily dodge and cloak. Just get Summer out and find the baby. These were the only sentences that crammed my thoughts and it was going great for a while until it didn't. I lost focus. I lost sight of the invisible truth and they found me. Chains wrapped around my legs tying them together and I fell.

"Hello witch, we're hoping you would fall in for a spell. Too bad you're already late and missed the show. It was good. Oh well. You need not worry. After a few shots and a tiresome time of restraining the beast where we lost a few of our men I am happy to say that the baby came out great and is on his way to his grandpas as we speak where he'll grow up the proper way. Too bad he'll never get the chance to meet his mother. It pains me to say this but sadly she died shortly after giving birth.

I struggle with the chains and they just smile at my weakness. The knife comes out and it's game over....for them!

With one swift motion I lung and plunge my blade into the eyes of my first victim. She drops, I turn and throw my blade into the heart of my next victim just as a needle catches the corner of my eye and I quickly disappear into a pile of butterflies then reassemble on top of my victim taking him to the ground with me on top.

Something drives into my back and is followed by a *click*! My body freezes up and I slowly set the knife on the floor then quickly turn, grab the needle gun and twist but she twists harder throwing me to the side like a weightless bag. I clash into the operating mobile table and flip over on my feet and hands then look up.

"Mom?!"
