It seems like I can use this guy to be free from this curse. From this damn book.
It is profoundly suspicious that there's a guy in this book of nursery rhymes.
According to my photographic memory, there was a guy in this book's cover. And the title is, 'The Adventurer and his quest in the world of nursery rhymes'.
It was Samuel who's the adventurer and I'm guessing that his quest is about this necklace he is looking for.
"Aha! We can work together to find that damn necklace." I said.
"Did I hear you correctly that you called the necklace, 'damn'?" He asked.
"Hmm... yes. It was truly a damn thing! Plus it's lame. If I can't find that necklace, there's no more chance for me to get out of here."
"I'm sorry but I have to say no. I cannot endure someone like you with my mission."
"But why?!"
"The necklace symbolizes true love. So if you're going to mock the necklace that I've been looking for, I think it is better if you would just get lost."
Great! My plan is now all messed up. How am I going to do this?
Hmm... aha! An idea sprung out of my mind like there's a bulb on my head and it lit as I thought of the heinous idea.
"Hey! Don't be so serious. I am just testing your eagerness to find the valuable necklace." I said with an investment of effort to make it sound much more convincing.
"I don't believe you," he replied.
F*ck! Really?! He didn't fell for it! Not even a budge of a doubt if I'm saying the truth!
"Well then, what do you want me to do to make you believe me?"
Here's my trick upon my sleeves. My cute and persuasive face. You should know that I am the trade of our family. The best of the best face of the Goodwills. I tried my best to do it properly this time then...
His eyes widened and his ears turned red. Effective! Even boys fall for my charm. He even looked away from me so he could contain himself from falling in love with me.
Although I thought that it is not possible since he is a character in this book and I'm a human being and I am straight.
Don't get me wrong. I do not hate people of the third gender. It's just that, being that androgynous has some kind of a perk when it comes to flirting. Boys and girls may fall in love with me but I'd prefer that it'd be girls.
"You need to convince me that your intention with the necklace is good." He said while trying his best not to meet my eyes. Go on Mr. Samuel Crescent, resist my exorbitant level of cuteness.
"So, in what way am I going to prove that my intention with the necklace is good?" I said. I inched my face closer towards him making my act more convincing.
Even his face turned much redder because of what I did.
"Wow!" I expressed. My attention was caught by the tree. It looks like the tree is emitting particles of light. It's fireflies. A lot of fireflies.
It kind of feels amazing as I noticed that these fireflies are surrounding us making the moment more magical. I guess this is what happens inside of fantasy, inside of this magical book. It is real in here as it is the opposite in my world.
"It's so beautiful," I said.
"Good timing! I'll take them into my lamp so they can be my light for tonight." He said. He took out the lamp from his bag and opened it.
For a second I thought that he's gross. The beauty of nature must be observed with our naked eye and not with captivity. I may be the most disrespectful human being you may think as of the moment but I have principles in life too. Is it funny to say that I have much more respect for nature than people? Nope. Just facts.
"Do you have to do that?" I asked.
"What do you mean?"
"Those beautiful creature has life. If you're going to do..."
"Okay fine. I get it! I won't take them anymore."
He put away his lamp back to his bag and he should not do that again. Especially in front of me.
"Come and get me!" We heard the voice of a child.
I looked at my back and saw the children laughing and running. Stars on the grasses moves and floats as the children pass towards them.
I remember my childhood friends. We were happily playing around but everything has changed because of what they did. They came towards us as they have noticed our presence.
"Your eyes are beautiful mister!" A child said looking upon me.
"Thank you! By the way, why are you playing around here? Where are your parents?" I asked.
It's confusing. Ever since I came here, I haven't seen any house around or near here. Maybe because I have walked for two minutes and I took a rest leaving me no idea of the help I can get earlier than I thought.
"Our parents are at home mister." The other child said.
"Don't they have to keep an eye on you? Isn't it dangerous here especially at night?"
"Children! Come on home and we're going to eat!" A guy shouted from nearby.
"Papa! There are people in here!" Another kid said.
A man appeared walking up the hill.
"Who are you, people? What are you doing here?" He asked as if we're like somewhat suspicious.
"We are prodigal explorers from the north. We're on our way to the plains of the south to look for the Necklace of Infinity." Samuel answered. He put his arms on my shoulders to convince the man.
"Then, you must don't have a place to stay for tonight. You may spend the night at our house. You just came in time because our village has thrown a feast." the gentleman said.
We followed the man to their house with the children as well. I'm seeing now the village from a distance as we walk.
The kid who told me that my eyes were beautiful approached me and held my hand.
"What is your name mister?" The kid asked.
"My name is Bryce. What is your name kid?"
"My name is Johnny."
"You're so adorable Johnny."
"Same to you Bryce! You're so adorable." He said and followed with a smile.
"So your name is Bryce. I'm Lucas, Johnny's father." He turned to Samuel and introduced themselves with each other.
It's been a long time since I have bonded with a child but let me tell you, I am good at babysitting. I could have 10 children in front of me all well behaved.
We finally reached their village. The place was filled with lights and villagers, music, food, laughter, and noise that sounds like happiness.
"My dear neighbors! We have visitors for tonight. They're explorers and they came from the north. Let's welcome them altogether! This is Bryce and this is Samuel." Mr. Lucas said as they yelled in rejoice to welcome us.
"Just eat whatever you want young ones. I hope you'll be happy spending the night with us." An old woman said.
There's a lot of food! I sure will be happy tonight! I made sure that my plate has every food they have here. When it comes to food, I won't hold back. Is this what the fairy says the punishment she gave me? This is indeed the best punishment I've ever had in my life.
Not much of a conversation from the elders of this village but I'm happy having this time with them. I've finished eating and it seems that my anus is going to give a shot.
"Excuse me, sir. May I use your comfort room?" I asked Mr. Lucas.
"No problem. Just go inside our house. Comfort room's near the kitchen."
"Thank you."
I went straight to the comfort room because it's gonna come out. I sat down on the toilet and...
You know what happened next. I won't get into any specific detail right now but in just a few minutes, I felt comfortable.
"Johnny, Johnny?" A voice from the kitchen. I can hear it from here inside the comfort room. It's kind of funny as I know what nursery rhyme is this. Yes, that kid who eats sugar.
"Yes, papa?"
I'm done washing and immediately stepped out of the comfort room.
"Eating sugar?" His dad asked.
"No papa," Johnny answered.
I went straight to the door to go out. I don't want to be caught in a father's anger so I hurried as much as I can.
"Open your mouth!" He angrily yelled.
"Hahahaha!"
The door opened once again showing Johnny in tears and obviously in fear.
"Mr. Bryce!" Johnny cried as he chased me and hugged my leg hiding from his father.
"You never learn your lesson!" His dad exclaimed.
Johnny embraced my lower extremities tightly. His dad went back to their house slamming the door. I kneeled to reach his height and talked to him.
"Why did your dad suddenly got mad?" I asked.
"I ate sugar in the kitchen. Again." Johnny answered.
"Then why did you lie earlier?"
"I'm afraid to be scolded and yelled at."
"Whatever your reason would be, you shouldn't be telling lies. Telling lies is such a bad habit do you know that? It is not good for some adorable child just like you to lie. You should go inside and apologize to your dad."
I wiped his tear then he stepped back into their house. Memories came rushing back as what have my friends did to me. I hate liars and shouldn't we all?
I just thought this is truly a book of nursery rhymes with a story of an adventurer looking for an important yet damn thing. The necklace.
Currently, we're in Johnny's nursery rhyme. Who wouldn't be mad if you found out that someone close to you is lying? This somehow stupid nursery rhyme sounded like you can just laugh after you lie well in fact it does not work that way.
If someone you trust would lie to you, like a big lie, they'll laugh at you when you find out and you'll still be okay with it? Of course not! I truly understand Mr. Lucas's anger.
"I've changed my mind," Samuel said. I wonder if he's standing there since Johnny ran to me.
"You changed your mind with what?" I asked. I don't have any idea what he's talking about.
"I have witnessed your politeness to the older people around you. I've seen how you tell Johnny that he's wrong and he needs to apologize."
He shut for a moment and looked away from me.
"I'll have you with me on my mission."
