Chapter 10 - CHAPTER 10 - TO BATTLE!

The more Sen listened the more he wondered about this new world full of interesting things.

As for the fact that this stone guided him to his 'fate', he was not going to say something cliché like "I'm the one who decides my fate and if god comes then I kill a god. If heaven comes then I shatter heaven!"

To him, these matters really weren't important as he was a bit religious back on earth so he did believe in fate…just not one dictated by a piece of stone. Ripping the rock from the pendant and clutching it with one hand, green fire escaped his palm, rapidly devouring the stone until nothing was left of it. The hellfire did not shatter the stone the first time because he merely sent a flicker, which was all he could do. This time he concentrated more and the fire was a few times stronger, enough to disintegrate the stone.

The elder saw what happened and was shocked silly. Generations of his family were the stone keepers but suddenly it ended right in front of his eyes. He looked at Sen with eyes full of terror, this man…. Maybe he will stick true to his words earlier and massacre the entire village. Terror gripped his heart for the first time in years.

"Relax…I won't really kill anyone" he waved his hands and the frozen Risa and Leonas dropped to the ground. They gasped for air as if they were given amnesty.

"I want both the elves and the drows here to owe me a favor. Should I ever need their help, I expect their full cooperation"

The elder was silent, but if there was anything he believed in blindly is the power of the stone of fate, a belief that has been engraved into him ever since he can remember.

'The stone can't be wrong, this person is the one who will lead us to a better life!' he said in his heart.

"The elves agree…but I can't speak for the drows" he hesitantly declared without hesitation.

"Grandpa!" Risa exclaimed frightened that her grandfather actually pledged allegiance to this creature in front of her eyes.

"Silence, the elves will do as I say and none can object"

"Hold up old man!" Sen interrupted, "everyone gets a say. If you pledge yourself than that's fine, but you can't force others, you understand? I just want you to convince them. For starters, these two. As for the rest, we'll worry about it later."

Risa seemed a bit moved by what he said while elder Souma stared admiringly at Sen. Indeed, the stone made the right choice.

"Yes, of course, esteemed one…just that the others are all captured by that mage of the Zacharias court while the ones left here are all injured and tired...they can't possibly make a clear decision under these circumstances…"

Sen pondered for a while before turning to the quiet Leonas, "do you speak for the drows?"

"Ah…." Leonas seemed surprised by the question directed at him all of a sudden before quickly regaining his wit, "no…my father does, and he is the chief and the head war—"

"He's dead" Sen interrupted him, "I felt something earlier next to the mage you spoke about…if your father is the strongest drow in this place, then he's been dead since long before we got here"

Leonas seemed shaken as he processed the news, he opened his mouth and said while trembling, "are…are you sure?"

"Yes, know that I familiarized myself with your aura, I can see that that dead body next to the mage has the very same feeling as yours, even though it was already dissipating…"

"I'll follow you!" Leonas said suddenly, "I can't speak for my kin but I will follow you…just please…"

Help me kill him!' that's what Leonas was about to say but swallowed his words. He wanted to do it himself.

"Just please help me save them" he made a deep bow as he spoke.

Risa on the other hand looked at her great grandfather, who used his eyes to almost threaten to disown her should she not agree with Sen.

"I…I agree as well" she hesitantly said. In fact, she knows that they have no chance of defeating the enemy, so she could only pin her hopes on this creature.

"Alright! Let's move then" he turned around to leave before looking at the elder once again… "I can't do anything about you injured soul…it will probably be gone by tonight" he fished out an elixir and threw it at him, "this is a soul-guiding elixir, it will liberate your soul and guide it down the path of reincarnation…that's all I can do for you" with that he turned to leave and closed the door behind the old elf and his great-granddaughter.

Sen did not leave immediately but waited a few minutes, just standing there and not doing anything.

Leonas was about to ask when the door suddenly opened and Risa exited, she wiped her tears after saying goodbye to her grandfather. She bowed to Sen and spoke, "I lead the elves and I sincerely agree to be in your debt. As for my kin…I will try hard to convince them. Please help us save them all!"

"Alright…we were waiting for you anyway" the old man was going to die tonight and he knew it so he certainly told her to follow him. Sen perceived the worship elder Souma had for the stone even after it shattered so he was sure that he would convince Risa to follow him.

Hmm

After thinking it for a bit; Sen suddenly recalled something. There are three innate skills for the Fanalis race he acquired with the race evolution. The first is the attraction and affinity to the races the Fanalis is made of. The second is the ability to choose any form of those races. While the last one is having all stats increased when near another Fanalis.

The last one is impossible because as far as he knows, no Fanalis should exist. While the second one is very useful to him.

Sen grinned and used the skill only to feel a sharp pain in his body.

'Damn:' he hissed.

What Sen just tried to turn to was a nightmare phoenix. Trying the golden sand griffin, it was the same result.

Sen Then concluded that maybe only smaller forms can be taken with his current level of power and the smallest one is a human.

Sure enough, it worked. Sen did not realize it at that point, but his human body is exactly his from back on earth.

"Let's go," said the now dark-haired Sen with his old human voice. It was so familiar and instinctive that he did not feel weird.
