Chapter 11 - CHAPTER 11 - CASSIL THE SPATIOMANCER

Leonas and Risa who were led by Sen in his human form were uneasy at heart. One had their father die while the other had to say goodbye to her grandfather. Elder Souma neglected to tell her before that once the red stone of fate had fulfilled its mission, not only will the carrier would already be dead, but the stone keeper had to pay with his soul, preemptively ending their life.

Risa was extremely grateful for Sen as he gave her grandfather an elixir that managed to reverse that effect and preserve his soul, entering the reincarnation cycle instead.

But there was nothing they could do now but unsheathe their weapons and get their revenge. Both of them were now the leader of their own people and if Sen proved to be a man of great power and ability, the ability to protect them, then they would wholeheartedly convince their people to join under his banner if he was willing to take them. They looked at each other with mutual understanding and resolutely followed after Sen.

In fact, Sen had no intention of protecting these people and going against this entire kingdom to free the oppressed non-humans. It was just that he is now one of those oppressed minority and it really doesn't feel good to be one. He wants to be able to move freely and peacefully, but since this country refuses to allow him that simple desire, he wouldn't mind working against it.

"My lord" a man wearing silver armor bowed down respectfully to a thin scrawny old man wearing long robes. "There are now more than fourteen warriors on their side. But the first squad was annihilated. We've already achieved our purpose how about we cut our losses and retr-"

The man hasn't finished speaking when the old robes man swung his staff and hit the other squarely with the fist-sized orb on top of the rod.

"Unless I give that order, you shall continue to advance" the old man spoke with a gloomy and cold voice without even sparing the guard another glance. He just kept staring at the village as a strong desire burned in his eyes.

The guard clenched his fist and endured the pain, not daring to utter another word of defiance; instead, he weakly acknowledged the order. He was a high-level captain of the Zacharias family army but had to listen to the words of this feeble old man that seemed to have a foot in the grave. But looks can be deceiving because this man was a court mage. One spell of his could kill him effortlessly.

After the guard left with new instructions, a young woman appeared out of the shadows behind the old man. She had pitch-black short hair, auburn eyes that glowed in the darkness of the night, and a short a petite figure. She also wore a tight-fitting robe the same as the old mage.

"Master, can the divination really be exact? I find it hard that something so divine and powerful could be in a place like this, among these…low lives creatures" her face twisted with disgust when she spoke the last part, at the same time looking at the bodies of the elves and drows lying on the ground dead.

Although both of those races were born with beautiful features that even the ugliest can compare the best human out there in terms of aesthetics, some humans are greedy and malicious, thinking they're above all races.

The old man's expression softened when he looked at the little girl, he sighed and nodded his head, "yes! It cannot be wrong. That item has been with me for so long, given to me by my father who cherished it more than his life"

"You never told me this master"

"Sigh…my father was also a court mage and I followed in his footsteps but couldn't even reach half his power, that's why I'm still stuck at this puny city," disgust painted his face before it turned onto delight as his lips curved upwards. "But that item I deemed useless at first…Hehe…who would've thought it lead to that place made by the goblins themselves"

"Goblins?" the girl pursed her lips before deeply frowning, "those dirty, disgusting things?"

"Don't look down on the goblins, Jenna. Today's goblins maybe stupid and disgusting, but hundreds of years ago, they were extraordinary builders and craftsmen, even those at the strongest kingdom, K'rasia, wouldn't hold a candle to them"

Naturally, Jenna knew of the strongest kingdom on this continent. Her dream and the dream of everyone else her age was to grow strong enough to one day earn the privilege to go there. Obviously, a kingdom that can dominate the entire continent had only legendary craftsmen as their level of technology reached extraordinary levels. Yet, her master was now saying that the creatures she thought were ugly, smelly, and crude were actually much better makers, builders, and craftsmen than those people.

"But if they were as brilliant as you said, why are they now so stupid and get easily killed by even the weakest energy cultivator out there?"

"Sigh…the book where I got my information from was burned halfway so I only managed to find certain information on the item on my hands as well as some fragments from the goblin history. Apparently, their king disappeared years ago. Rumor among the goblin kin has it that he left for another realm. As to where no one knows. Ever since then the goblin became scattered. They lost their king their home and over the years, their intellect, becoming mindless animals no different from beasts."

"So…" Jenna wanted to speak but a guard rushed out from behind them in a hurry.

"Lord Cassil!"

"What is it?" Cassil asked, unhappy at the interruption.

"We're under attack! Our entire front squad is gone!"

"What?!" Cassil was started. There were fifty talented warriors in the front squad. No one from the other side would've managed to beat them. He was planning on exhausting the other side's forces to prevent any mishap from happening. Therefore, he only sent a small square to probe their strength and he had already killed their chief and mortally injured their elder, the two strongest people there and was planning on ending this and looking for what he desires once all settles down and no elf or drow stays in the way.

He quickly regained his composure, "how many are there?"

"They…actually…"

"Hesitate any longer and see if your head will stick to your neck" Jenna threatened impatiently at the stuttering guard which obviously worked since he quickly answered.

"Three, Lady Jenna, the enemy are only three people. An elf, a drow and…a human"

More than the fact that the enemy was only three people, the two were more shocked that there was a human on the other side. Since it is wildly known how both elves and drows hate humans.

"The human, how strong is he?" Cassil only came here under the guise of acquiring more slaves for the Zacharias family while actually looking for the thing that would change his future for the better so he did not plan on attracting any unwanted attention or make any strong enemies. If this human was powerful enough to eradicate a whole squad of twenty warriors, then he would certainly be difficult to beat. Even for him.

"He is not a mage but is really good at fighting. And he is also very fast. He took down ten warriors in two minutes. And the two are weaker than one warrior but the human is covering for them so our warriors cannot land a deadly attack."

"Not a mage huh?" Cassil smirked. If that person is not a mage then no matter how strong he is, as long as he wasn't one of those talented energy warriors he had seen at the capital, he can easily take him down.

"Hmph! let's go see who is daring enough to attack my camp!"

Meanwhile, Sen was fighting three people at once but was having an internal problem of his own. Even though he had the battle art he could use to end this battle in a heartbeat – as limited as it may be- he did not use it for two reasons. First is not to spook the enemy away by his powers and give them the opportunity to flee. The second is to hone his personal battle skills which are currently none.

If one were to overlook the one-sided fight, they would notice an elf and a drow. One fighting ferociously while the other elegantly as they broke through the enemy's defense.

On the other hand, Sen was fighting like a ten-year-old when given a wooden sword and thrown in a dogfight, basically flinging that thing up and down, right and left, slashing at whatever enemy that came along.

he was, however, reluctant to kill these warriors. if anything he understood from back on earth, is that subordinates must absolutely follow their commander's order. he didn't if that is the case here so he refrained from delivering blows to vital areas. that of course, did not apply to Leonas and Risa. once he weakened them, they would swoop in and deliver a deadly blow.
