After asking some more question which Leonas and Risa happily answered, Sen retreated to the room, leaving the elf and the drow still excitedly thinking about the land and what's it's like out there. But when remembering that they had to face Cassil and the Zacharias family, their excitement dimmed a bit.
"Don't worry, I believe that if it is Sen, then the Zacharias family is doomed sooner or later" Risa said with murderous eyes.
"You're right. Sen…I believe we made the right choice by following him. If only Mateo would….ah, that stubborn mule" Leonas sighed. When Risa put a hand on his.
"Don't worry, didn't Sen say we can grow stronger by his side? At that time we'll just have to find them and they will see it for themselves. And if he and the old coot of my kin still don't see what's good for them, then they're really not savable"
"Yeah…" softly murmured Leonas before he went back to his room and Risa to her own house.
A few minutes ago, Sen had told them to stop calling him esteemed one and just call him by his name.
.
.
The next morning, at the crack of dawn, the fire from the previous battle and the funeral pyres has already been put off and all that's left is the lingering smoke above the village.
"So have you decided?" Sen asked as he stared at the group of elves and drows. All of them packed their luggage and ready to move.
Mateo looked coldly at Leonas, "are you sure you're not coming with us?" he asked.
That question was the answer to Sen's question. He was not going to spend another second in convincing this person.
"Where are you going to go? Uncle Aram?" Risa asked a middle-aged looking elf. He was the one the elves elected to represent them. He was not as hot-headed as Mateo. Instead, he was calm and collected. But he still refused to follow them.
"We're joining the rebellion in the south" uncle Aram answered.
Risa bit her lips, feeling like she let down her grandfather and his last wish, but she knew that nothing she could say right now will have any effect on their decision. "Then I wish you luck and a safe journey"
Uncle Aram nodded and turned around to leave, heading southwest. But before he and Mateo could take a step, Sen spoke. "Hold up"
Mateo turned around, "what? You're regretting letting us go?"
Sen ignored the remark, took out two crystals from his inventory, and threw one at uncle Aram and the other at Mateo. "If you ever find yourself in a dangerous situation, crush that stone, it will give you the help you need"
Mateo wanted to throw the stone back but he saw uncle Aram thanking Sen while pocketing the blue colored rock. He snorted, kept the stone, and led the group on their way.
"Thank you," Leonas and Risa said. They were worried about their people and Sen giving them a helping hand even after they refused his help only elevated his place in their hearts and increased their loyalty. In fact, that's the main reason Sen did it. Of those stones, he did not have many.
Surprisingly, not all drows and elves left. Nivel, the young female drow Sen met before stayed together with the young male elf called Romeo. And they weren't the only ones, there was also a middle-aged elf, standing behind Risa.
"It was your choice to follow me. You shall not call me lord, as in my world, no nobility exits. I also would never force you to do something you do not believe in. but remember this: should anyone work against me, then you better go and follow the rest of them."
His words sent shivers down their back and some started hesitating. Yet after thinking it through, they found his conditions to make sense. If he was really going to help them then what he wanted in return was only fair. Plus, they can't survive the trip to the south, and neither can they go to any other place for humans populated all those areas. And they certainly can't stay in this forest forever as most hunters and the scouts left for the rebellion with Mateo and uncle Aram while the rest died.
The three people looked determined. Each with their own reasons. Nivel was Leonas's little sister and would follow him wherever he goes. While Romeo was an orphan and he like anyone his age admire heroes and had taken Sen to be his hero, plus, he has been raised in elder Souma's house and was considered to be Risa's foster brother.
"Good" Sen nodded and waved his hands then out of nowhere, a few thick fragrant golden bread appeared above the tree stump next to him. They shone pale yellow even in the dim light of dawn. With another wave, small round water bottles followed up. "Have something to eat first, we'll move after you're finished.
With relish, the group ate, savoring every drop of water and every crumb of bread. It was just a few mouthfuls, but it was strangely satisfying that it took away all of their fatigue and not just of the previous battle, but from weeks and weeks ago. Suddenly, their attitudes towards Sen shifted a bit. Maybe it's not so bad following him after all.
After they finished eating, Sen decided to make his way towards Lavin city. He stood at the very front, with Leonas and Risa following right behind.
After eating the heavenly tasting bread and water, the two children's apprehension against humans was temporarily forgotten as their 10 years old minds swirled in awe of Sen's ability. They kept pestering him along the way incessantly.
Sen, on the other hand, was not irritated, he answered their question very patiently.
"Big brother Sen, where do you keep that tasty stuff?" Nivel asked.
"Big brother Sen, how did you defeat all those bad guys?"
"Big brother Sen, where did you learn how to fight?"
"Can you use magic?"
"Did you make those delicious bread?"
.
.
This scenario continued for a while. Asking questions without giving him the chance to answer, they fire off another one. "Alright, hold up!" Sen lifted a hand and stopped them.
"I came from a place called the Last Realm" he explained and by this time, both Leonas and Risa perked up their ears. They wanted to learn about Sen, however, they did not have the guts to ask.
"Wow" Romeo's eyes glistened, "that sounds so cool!"
"Yeah, it is. It's a place full of dangers and opportunities. There, you can choose whatever you want to be, as long as you have enough patience and determination to see it through…I met my teacher on one of my quests and he showed me the way to grow stronger" Sen, of course, was referring to the goblin king and his inheritance.
"and yes, I can use magic as well as a fight" one of the benefits that choosing the goblin race brought him was that he was not restricted by class, meaning that he can use both Mana and internal energy when other people can only use one of the two depending on their class.
"Then about those bread?" Nivel asked, drooling as she remembered that taste.
"Hmm" Sen nodded, "I made those myself when I was in the last realm."
A player can choose up to three jobs in LR, and Sen Chose the most useful combination, the peasant, and the baker. Normally, being a high-level peasant enabled him to harvest high-level ingredients while being a high-level baker, he baked the highest level pastries, bread, and other delicacies.
The golden bread for example was called Frostiz bread. Made of Frostiz, wheat that grew in the coldest island in all of LR and only level 200 peasants which was the job level cap, could harvest. And since there was literally no competition for that grain, he solely monopolized it. Now in his inventory, he had almost two thousand pieces of bread and more than ten thousand Frostiz grain. He wondered if he would be able to plant them. But Frostiz needs a very cold environment to grow so he put that thought on hold for now.
"What else can you do?" they asked in unison as if Sen was a marvel filed mystery waiting to be unlocked.
"Umm, I can also write"
His third and last job was a scribe. This one he chose for a quest, it was relatively easy to easy but he only got it up to level 150.
.
After answering a few more question which satisfied the two' curiosity, Sen gave each of them a book and told them to go and practice it.
Those books were body enhancing arts. Not like his own legendary art, but still of very good quality. He had acquired during his time in LR, some of them were useless to him, but to others, they can be an invaluable treasure.
In the game, two clicks were enough to learn the art, but apparently, in here, the books had real contents, with words filling up all of their pages. Something Sen did not understand at all since the converter enables him to understand spoken language, not written ones.
As for Leonas and Risa, since they were going to be operating directly under his command, he wanted to make something special out of them, so he needed time to think it through. The two had no problem with it even if Sen did not tell them what he had in store for them. They were already happy enough to see Sen treating their young ones this well.
"We've reached Lavin city's outskirts," the middle-aged elf said, he was called Sama'l, a scout elf, as well as Risa's uncle and only the only family she has left.
"Alright everyone, I'll pay this Zacharias family a visit"
The rest tensed up. They looked Sen and were amazed by what they saw, he chanted something in low voice and the next second, they saw two Sens. The exact face, the exact body, and the exact clothes. As if that wasn't enough, he pointed at Leonas and Risa, and something shot towards them, the next second, their figures began to blur until they became invisible.
"Risa!" Uncle Sama'l panicked. He agreed to come here only because his niece stubbornly followed this human. She was his only family and pampered her like a real daughter since she was young. Now, she disappeared right in front of his eyes.
"Uncle, I'm fine" the air where she was standing spoke.
"What's going on?"
"I used an invisibility stone on you two, I can enter the city freely but you two cant, its better this way."
In fact, Sen was planning on taking things on his own, but he also understood how important it is for the elves and drows to take revenge with their own hands. Luckily he still had some skill stones. Just like the mimic orb, the linguistics orb, and the stones he gave to Mateo and the elf uncle. These were disposable items with a spell, skill, or a curse inside of them. And Sen had a variety of them. Although he reckoned they should be used sparsely.
"My clone will stay here in case something happens, but this place is pretty remote, so I doubt anything will happen." He motioned at his cold faced clone who nodded back at him.
"Anything he sees, I see and he has a portion of my strength, so you three will be fine." He spoke again and put sixty-some loaves of Frostiz bread. "You can hunt if you want, but it's best to take this time to hone your skills. This bread will be enough for about a week. If something happens, my clone will inform me and I'll be here in no time… Nivel"
"Here" Nivel stood up like an obedient student.
"Romeo"
"Here!"
"Good, you guys need to practice that book," he also threw a scroll to Uncle Sama'l. "This was a scouting skill. See if you can learn it"
Without waiting for a reply, Sen made his way towards the city; the invisible Risa and Leonas were right behind him"
