Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Reincarnation

'Huh, where am I?' I thought as I looked around.

The only thing I could find were trees, grasses, and shrubs. Though they did look exotic.

I then quickly made my brain go into overdrive, arranging every information I had.

Then I remembered what had happened.

I was playing the dying game, Mir Grand, once the most popular mmorpg. There were more popular game, but still, it was my favourite game so they didn't matter.

At that time I was just playing and doing a raid, I think I got in the top 10s. I was pretty happy and wanted to call it a day.

So I took of my headset and took out the cables that went inside a small plug that was inserted in my neck.

'I died' that was the only thought I had. I was certain that I had died because when I took out the cable I felt a short circuit.

After that, electricity passed through my head through my neck. It was in a split second, but I lost all the control I had over my body and died.

'Now let's see.' I didn't mind dying. The world I had lived in was hell incarnate, so I didn't mind it and I also had a pretty bad life.

I, currently, only wanted to check my environment. I wanted know to where I was, I needed information. This was one of the first thing I was taught in the game.

It was a very good advice, as it had not only helped me in-game, but also in real life, many times. So I knew that I had to get information. And try my best to get a hold of the situation.

First step, look around. I had already looked around and only found exotic plant; but this time I would be looking around everywhere.

Trying to figure out my location. I could move, but it was better idea to just be aware of my surroundings a little better.

I then looked around, this time more carefully, I found many strange quirks about the trees. The trees had strange fruits on them; they also leaked some green essence that I could see and not see at the same time - it was very weird.

But I couldn't get distracted by a mere tree, otherwise there would be no way I could have gotten into the top 100 players at Mir Grand.

I then found out that every plant life released that green essence, some even releasing an aura. The ground was the same.

I found it strange, 'I should probably find out more about it.' That was the only thing that was coursing through my head.

I then looked up, the sky was blue - as usual. Then there was the sun, I only looked at it for a split-second because I didn't want to get blind this quickly.

The discovery I had made was that matter in this place all radiated auras or essences. The color they radiated was very similar to how I would expect them to radiate.

The plants radiated green, ground brown, sky a shade of green blue, and finally, the sun radiated a yellow color.

I also found mountains in the distance, but they were too far away to be important to me. If my observations are correct, I am currently in a forest.

That meant that I needed to find water - a river would be very good, since Mir Grand used historical evidence and found that ancient people used to build near river. The people living in this world were probably ancient, since in my time, there would be no trees left in the open.

The only place you could see a tree was in a rich man's house.

'Thinking about it more, I think I might have reincarnated; since I have died and there are strange things happening to my surroundings.' I thought about it more.

I wasn't too big on pop culture - except gaming. But I did have friends that knew about it. They would sometimes fantasize about getting transported to another world.

I was a little surprised when I had heard them say that, since we could already do that with VR. But they had said that they wanted a full experience, an experience that not even VR can provide.

I didn't understand them, but this was probably what they have meant when they had said that they wanted to get transported to another world.

I then started to walk, 'Huh?' but instead of walking like I had thought, I just fell. 'What happened?' I thought to myself.

I then looked at my body, 'What!?' I was shocked. My body wasn't that of a human, but of a creature with scales.

In my view there only was my "hands" and legs. I only had 4 fingers, with a small thumb. It was on both my "hands" and legs.

I was covered in small scales. I also had tail. I didn't know I could move, heck, even feel it, until I tried to.

I took a while for me to arrange my mind, but when I did, 'I have to go and find a water source asap.'

I wanted to know more about myself, and my new body.

Since I wasn't a bipedal beings, I had seen my "hands." I walked on all fours.

'Huh, it was more easy that I thought.' I could walk very easily, it was strange, since I thought that it will take me sometime to get used to this new body.

Also, another weird fact was that I was shorter. If I had to take a guess, I was probably big as a cat. I didn't which or what type of creature I was so I needed to find a water source asap.

I needed to know what kind of being I was, if I could, then I would plan out my moves in this new world.

I probably had a guess, but it was a long shot. This world's matte has color coming from them, what if that color was mana - it was a stretch but it was the best explanation I had.

Then came another part, I had died and now was in a scaly body and had a tail. I also felt two limbs on my back; those limbs were one that one could flap.

So my best hunch was that I was reincarnated as a dragon - it was a hunch but more I thought about it more plausible it was.

Then I remembered something that my friends had said once, I quickly stopped myself from walking - I hadn't walked that much maybe a meter or so.

'Status' I thought to myself, it was one of the things my friends had said. That he liked where the protagonist would get a special power or that the world would have a status page similar to how it was in games.

Nothing happened for a moment, I thought that obviously it won't work. But trying it didn't need me to anything, and just required a single thought.

I was about to move when a window came in front of my eyes.

[Status]

Name: ???

Race: Baby Dragon

Level: 1/10

Stats

Hp: 10/10

Mp: 5/5

Str: 4

Mag: 2

Agi: 3

Vit: 2

Skills

Scales: Lv.1

Claws: Lv.1

Dragon Breath: Lv.1

Seeing the mysterious window pop up, I quickly turned my brain into full overdrive and looked at all the informations carefully.

The status was mostly like Mir Grand, so I wanted to try one thing.

If it worked then it would make my life way easier. The thing I was about to do was skill inspect.

Skill inspect didn't need any skills and was able to display you the details of your specific skill. Though you can only do it for your own skills, if you wanted to use inspect on another person you will have to have the skill called inspect.

I wanted to use skill inspect on the skill which I thought would be the most important to me, dragon breath.

In Mir Grand, a dragon's breath was its signature weapon. A dragon could breathe elemental breath without using any mana - though it still costed them their stamina.

It was a very powerful weapon, it was one of the many reason why dragons were the strongest race of the game; and why no players could get a dragon as a race - unless they were willing to pay massive amounts of money.

[Dragons Breath: The signature attack of dragons. Due to ??? being a baby dragon, the dragon breath is automatically set to fire. The breath can change after further evolution. Due to you skill being level 1 you can only make a small stream of fire that costs a lot of stamina.]

'Thank you god!' this meant that skill inspect worked. It will really help me a lot as it did in the game. I also learned that evolution also exists in this world like it did in Mir Grand.

I wanted to know what the level cap was for, thank god it was answered this early.

Evolution, as it name suggests, is a process that monster races go through. It was a very strong mechanic.

Its just an extreme version of class up, so you will get more strength, but also more weakness. Though dragons didn't get a lot of weakness.

I needed to level up dragon breath fast, as it would probably be my trump card in the future - the trump card which I will use 90% of time.

If the world followed the same system as Mir Grand, then I could probably level up my skill like that. This was good news.

I then happily started to walk, trying to find a water source.
