Chereads / Lo Recant, The Rise of The Dragon King / Chapter 7 - Ultra Instincts

Chapter 7 - Ultra Instincts

I then quickly turned my attention from being afraid from the divine bastard, to finding a strong monster, after all, I was having no luck at finding them. But still, I was very happy about the skills I had gained.

"Wait..." I then started to grin wickedly, "Don't mind if I do!"

The divine bastard had given a lot of boosts regarding skills - and stats, I mean I could learn a lot of skill and also learn them faster than normal. I had a lot of freedom regarding skills because of that divine bastard, after all.

That would really help me out in the long run, since, the more skill I had the more things I could do. It was just like how a guy with more skills would be more useful than a guy without.

Currently, I wanted to get a skill that would boost my senses. They were already pretty sharp, but still, I couldn't find any strong monsters with them at this level.

'No, I should think about it more seriously.' I was a little worried about something and then started thinking about the consequences of these boosts.

In Mir Grand the more skill you gain the harder it would be to gain more (especially if the skills relate) - I had some free room due to that divine bastard, but I didn't know how much. That should apply here, as well.

'Huh?' I then instinctively knew that this was exactly right, and that's what happens in this world.

I was shocked a little by it, but more than that, I was very happy about it. It meant: at higher levels, I would be able to instinctively know if something works or doesn't - as draconic wisdom would grow stronger with me.

'Well, this made things a little bit more complicated.' I thought to myself.

This meant that I would've to plan out my skills. The faster skill learning rate meant that I would be able to learn more skills - and also level them faster - but, that didn't mean I would only learn skills that were helpful (i.e. combat skills).

If fact, I could've gotten an exploration skill. And getting that would make it very hard to learn other skills related to senses and knowledge - and would decrease my learning rate for other more important skills.

I then started to think up a list of skills I would want to have. These skills were mandatory in a strong build.

My wisdom skill, also, somehow, helped me pick better skills, "Wisdom skills are truly powerful." I muttered to myself.

Not only did they help me explore the world and gave me much crucial information; but, they also helped me do literally every other thing, as well.

They were pretty strong in the game, but in this world, they were even stronger.

'Then it's set. I will first learn a sensory skill first.' I wanted to learn the skill, presence detection.

It was a very useful skill in the game. It allowed you to find things much easier and would make it much harder to get sniped or killed by a stealthy player or monster.

But considering how skills were stronger in this world and provided more uses than in the game; I was sure that it would be extra stronger here.

In battle; your reflexes, reaction time, intuition, and instincts all played a huge role. And presence detection would likely affect those.

Learning it would likely mean using my senses to find something. So, I would just have to try to sense, better, somehow.

'Whoa!' and just as I thought that, a lot of basic knowledge was pumped into by my wisdom skill.

It all revolved around using my senses better, sadly, it was only the basic. I had to improve on them myself - and also find new ways to do them, though, I would still get some help from my wisdom skill - after all, it boosted my skill rate.

'Let's try it out.' I then slowly started to increase my sense's potency, I could do it in a burst, but I didn't want to overpower my senses. Though, I would still try to reach the maximum limit of my body.

'Whoa!' my eyes were wide opened due to the feeling I was feeling.

Due to the increase in my senses, it felt like the entire world was opening up, more and more. I could hear and see much more and much clearer; I could hear and sense much better, as well.

I was truly surprised by this sensation. It was a completely new feeling for me.

I kept on slowly increasing my sensitivity by every second, if I had to guess, I was increasing it by 1% per second - that rhymes, neat.

While I was increasing them, the time had started to slow down, slowly. But that slowly; started to rack up pretty fast. And by the time I had spent 30 seconds, the world was way slower than normal.

'That's trippy!' I thought to myself as I saw the world much clearer and slower.

But, after I had spent about 50 seconds, I couldn't increase my senses anymore, and I was also starting to get a slight headache.

'That's my limit.' I then found my current limit, which was about a 50% increase.

But, even then, 50% was a large increase. I was very happy with it. But, sadly, I hadn't gotten my skill, yet.

But I didn't worry about it too much; since, it just meant that I had to be in this super sense state or SSS - which I just dubbed - for much longer.

And after 3 minutes - and some mild headache. Just like I had thought; I heard a notification ring throughout my head - the sense of satisfaction overpowered my headache. But, unlike what I had imagined, it was a little different; and I loved it.

[Sensory Amplification gained!]

[Sensory Amplification: Lv.1 > Lv.2!]

[Sensory Amplification: Lv.2 has fused with Draconic Sense!]

[Draconic Sense has evolved to True Draconic Sense!]

It was very surprising to find my racial skill evolve, but, even more than that, I was shocked by the fusion. It wasn't something that had existed in the game.

It was an entirely new game element. Thankfully, draconic wisdom gave me some basic information about skill fusion.

It seems that in this world, if you have the legendary rank, there is a chance that your skills can fuse together to form stronger and better skills - sometimes even being specialized.

This really changed the game, for me. Since the number of skills would get decreased; I would be able to learn even more skills. Though, it would still be harder to learn a skill that would, again, fuse with my fused skills.

But that didn't matter that much, since, I could learn more combat-related skills. Skill synergizing was pretty important in Mir Grand - and should be much more prevalent in this world.

But enough about that, I really loved this new skill. It increased my normal senses by 100% - and I could still boost it by about 50%.

It was a humongous increase. It was pretty amazing, and not only that, because of the skill, my wisdom skill gave me some basic information about another topic about senses.

It was about specializing one's senses.

It was actually pretty simple, and I was dumb to not use it. I mean even a normal human in my previous world could do it. Like how you could hear better if you close your eyes.

But, one thing I had to add was, I could do something even better, and harder, than that. I could lower my existing sense's effectiveness - I could even go as far as to disable them; so I could block out my sense of smell, hearing, taste, sight, and sense - meaning I could block out the sense of pain, as well, that was pretty neat.

I could also focus on more abstract senses like instincts, intuition, reflexes, and spatial awareness. I had also learned, from my draconic wisdom, that specializing in my spatial awareness - which I had dubbed spatial sense, or SS - was better than just increasing the rest of my senses.

Even though each point in special awareness was less effective; due to me being able to deactivate five senses! I would be able to boost my spatial awareness by a lot!

But, it was still better to focus on my other senses when I wasn't using my spatial awareness.

That's because if I was entirely focused on SS, then I would react a lot slower and my control over my body would be below average - also some application would be better with my normal senses.

In a situation in which I was surprised attacked, I would likely die if I have my SS maxed.

It was the same with increasing my instincts, intuition, and reflex - or what I like to call my combat senses. If I turned them all to their max power mode - which I had dubbed ultra instincts; I would have tunnel vision.

So it would be for the best to switch between my states and build up a flow in battle. Switching between SSS - yes, I could still increase my boosted further, by 50% - SS, and UI, would be the best.
