Meanwhile, at Lihle's place as Katlego sits with no one but the maid as he sat downstairs watching some series as Nokuthula, the matey maid sang fervently nearby; her voice coming directly from the nearby kitchen. Nokuthula loved to sing and when she soon joined him for lunch, he could hear how truly smoothed her voice was as she sat near him singing softly, until she began eating.
Thoughts of Zintle were still preying on his mind, though he still couldn't find anything else besides her voice, which was the only clue he had. Also, what was even more tenuously absurd was the fact that the same song that Zintle was singing, a song by Lira, drew his thoughts to Zintle's voice one more. So he couldn't help listen to Nokuthula...
"Will you raise your voice?" asked Katlego, turning to the side to look at Nokuthula.
"Please don't raise your voice at me, only Lihle and her parents can speak to me like that" She exaggerated.
"Excuse my manners, it's just that I like it, no sarcasm here, your lovely song reminds me of someone," he said, putting his fork down and bringing his vertebral column backwards to bury it deep inside the couch, to slouch sluggishly, as he closed his eyes and felt a tear drop of sweat run down his ribs
"Are you okay Kat?" Nokuthula placed down her plate and came to his aid.
"I'm fine Noku," he returned her bright smile, "it's just that..."
She interrupted the end of his sentence with her voice and began singing. Her facial cuteness seemingly emphasized as he looked up to her, her voice floating above him as it soon began dropping flashbacks of Zintle into his forehead.
Katlego couldn't help it, Nokhutula's voice was really helping him remember. Somewhere in his mind lurked locked up memories; and a tamed, lack or remembrance. Her thought where hiding somewhere in his mind, possibly hiding inside a traumatic black hole that his trauma had borne. Nevertheless, It was all coming back. Katlego could could now see vague pictures of Zintle. That's when it also hit him that he did not have his phone him, ever since he'd woken up he'd never held it.
Nokuthula kept on singing, he let her excuse herself to go wash the dishes, after which he knew she'd go and take her afternoon bath. So, as soon as she told him that she was going to take her bath, he waited a few minutes before rushing upstairs. He wanted to go and get his phone in Lihle's bedroom.
Reaching the end of the staircase and turning right, he slowly walked past some paintings on the wall. They were paintings which he'd always played ignorant towards and never bothered to actually admire. Now that had all changed, his sad, slow and cynical walk gave him time to actually walked past the floral still-lives, realistic portraits, and some colorful abstract paintings which hung on the wall.
But before he could reach the purple door which seperated Lihle's room and the hallway, another door grabbed his attention. It was actually the two big portraits of the Mayoress and her husband on each side of the door. He could suddenly remember Lihle, telling him to never ever enter that room.
Katlego almost walked past, but he did the exact opposite, he wanted to give the bedroom a short look. So he soon reached for the handle, pressed it down and slowly pushed the door open. A rush of adrenaline ran to his foot and he exhaled loudly and walked in, and braced himself when a purple lighting quickly and automatically illuminated the room. It was a fancy bedroom, fancily decorated with a king bed, and fancy furniture as well as some teddy bear balloons which floated to the ceiling.
After taking a quick tour around the bedroom he soon found himself by a small desk near the window, where he finds a white board on the wall, pictures of Lethabo and pictures of Zintle. Red intersecting lines crossing both their faces, small qoutes on both sides of the pictures, but a disturbing quote at the very bottom of the small board, "Lethabo + Zintle = Lihle.
His mind almost burst and his mind squeezed at the sudden realization and he soon find himself walking in reverse, shocked at the sudden realization, reverse onto the bed. The same bed where he soon falls onto, turns around and looked at the duvet of the bed only to find a photographic collage embroidered on the duvet's design. Collages with pictures of him and Lihle this time, except for the difference in his hairstyle. He has a bald head, but in the pictures he has some short locks. Momentarily, Katlego touched his bald head for a while, but also heard a scream coming from outside.
Katlego rushed towards the window, open the curtain, glanced down and saw 3 guys in purple suits manhandling a girl in a purple as they dragged her out a white Volks Wagen van, as their suits shined in the sparkling moonlight.
Within that very minute Lihle and her red and white Kittie mask gets out the van's front seat and the other guy in a purple suit comes towards Lihle and nestles her in his arms, before they both take off their masks and kiss. It is then when Katlego's jealousy presents itself. When that guy suddenly turns around and walks around the van to the driver's door, Katlego suddenly recognizes the guy's short locks, making realize that he might also be the guy on the photographic duvet. He leaves him puzzled, his heart heartbeat doubling by the second.
"Katlego! What are you doing in here?" Nokuthula's voice startles him and he slowly watches the other guy with the ginger-dyed locksdrive out of the compound/yard before turning around to face the fiery voice behind him.
"Was just looking for my phone, thought it might be here." Katlego smiles and turns around to face the suspicious woman behind him, "have I ever told you how sexy you are?"
"I'm 33 for Christ's sake, but I'll let this sneaky incident of yours slide, If you give me a shoulder massage tonight," giggles Nokuthula, as she winks at him and waits for him to walk out.
Katlego leaves a kiss her on the cheek and walks out before rushing to Lihle's room, about 2 bedrooms away. He gets inside and heads straight for her closet, his sight in tunnel vision as he does so. Not even a minute passed before Lihle entered the room and threw her mask on her bed while speaking on the phone, not realizing that Katlego might be nearby.
"Haha... Relax mommy, I knew you did a lot to help me cover my tracks," Lihle pauses and giggles, "I promise I'll finish this for once and for all, I'll definitely get them to kill one another"
Her last words as she opens her closet and sees him, making her drop her phone and jump back with a slight shock, enough to drop her jaw accidentally spit out her bubblegum.
"And then, what are you doin' in there?"
