Chapter 14 - Gut Feeling

Chapter 14 :

Victoria rushed out as the car parked at the entrance of the police station," Laura come on." urged Victoria as she took out a sleeping Emma from the back seat and placed her on her shoulders.

" Victoria, why are we at the police station?" asked Laura, getting frustrated by her closed-off attitude. Grabbing her wrist, Laura pulled Victoria to a halt; staring into her eyes, she pleaded.

"What's going on, Vicky? Tell me please", Victoria released a sob and informed in a croaky voice, "Ciro, he's-"

"Oh my god, he's in there isn't?" Laura asked, even though she knew the answer to her question, "Did they tell you what happened?" she asked.

Victoria ignored Laura for a while as she took out the things she had packed for Ciro after she has finished speaking to the officer.

Victoria packed for him his hoodie, a pair of small leather gloves for his hands, and a small-cap to fit his head. Gathering Ciro's things, she turned towards Laura who was giving her a pout.

Victoria knew that if it was another that she had done this. She would be up in the middle of the night ordering all of Laura's favorite dishes and treats, and going on a shopping spree non-stop buying designer brands for her.

Moving towards the entrance, used her hands and gestured for Laura to follow with little Emma.

While they were walking, Victoria noticed that most of the staff were busy staring at something to her left.

"Hopefully that whatever is distracting them don't come in the way of me getting my baby out of here" whispered Victoria.

Laura who was now looking at her befriend with a puzzled expression plastered on her face, because she heard Victoria taking but was not sure if she was talking to her or if Victoria was just talking to herself, so she confirmed "Were you speaking to me just now?."

Victoria shook her head and released a soft laugh and answered, "Oh no, I was just saying something to myself."

"Ok, just wanted to confirm somethi-" she stopped what she was saying and stared openly at a guy that was seated on the bench with what seemed to be his son or little brother.

The guy had this whole carefree vibes going on and his hair looked as if he ran his hands in it one too many times.

The little boy beside him was wearing a leather jacket that seemed five times larger than him, he said something to the guy that caused him to laugh, his hair looked like Ciro's.

Laura took out her phone and captured the scene, although she knew what she did was considered wrong with copyright and all.

She couldn't care less if they decide they wanted to sue her. For she had all the money in the world. Her family ranked number three on Forbes, 'Top Ten Influential Families In The World.' and have been there for the past five years.

"Laura come on, you've been smiling creepily at nothing for about the past twenty minutes," observed Victoria.

Laura pouted and looked behind her to see if the guy and the little boy were back there, but there was no guy, only the little guy running, running towards them.

'Am I seeing clearly?' she asked herself. The little boy running towards her looked like that of Ciro.

"It couldn't be," she whispered; because she had seen him earlier, and he looked nothing like Ciro.

'It's just an illusion Laura, get a grip of yourself,' ordered her subconscious.

"Mother," said the little boy.

"Holy Freak" was all she could say.

That boy really was Victoria's little boy. Ciro flung himself into Victoria's arms while greeting his aunt Laura.

Laura wanted to ask Ciro who was that guy he was with, but decided against it because she knew what a worry heart Victoria can be.

Coming up with what she thought at the time was the perfect plan, so she asked Ciro to accompany her to the garden that she had seen earlier.

Victoria became suspicious when she saw the way Laura acted when she was asking Ciro to go with her to the garden and how she avoided eye contact with her throughout this.

'Something is not right,' she thought as she got up and followed them towards the garden.

The stranger was still at the police as ordered; he was buying an ice cream cone when he saw Victoria's and Axel's son came into the garden with Victoria's best friend.

From his angle, it looked as if she had cornered him. The stranger could see Laura asking Ciro a question, and he could see him laughing while shaking his head as if he was to say no.

The stranger released a chuckle when he saw Victoria's best friend stomped her foot very hard on the ground.

'How ironic,' he thought 'The one who was supposed to be the adult was acting as the child'

The stranger concluded from her reaction that she was asking about his father.

He could not wait for when Victoria finally remembers her children's father and when her best friend realizes that the guy she's been lusting for was somewhat taken by her best friend.

The stranger went and took the seat that the vendor was sitting on when Victoria came striding into the garden with a neutral expression on her face.

"Ciro" she called, and he watched as little Emma held onto Victoria's leg, causing Victoria to walk very slowly towards the two. Ciro ran pass Laura and towards both his mother and Emma.

For the first time in the night, Victoria smiled that too, a big radiant smile when she saw her children embracing each other happily, both mumbling words such as, "Emmie" and "Boss Baby" and any other words they could think of.

Victoria turned towards Laura who was standing by the sidelines watching the reunion. Opening her arms she waited for Laura was in her arms before hugging her tightly.
