Chapter 18 :
"What do you mean you set me up on a blind date?" asked Victoria in frustration as she paced up and down her room with her phone held up to her ear.
Her cousin, Andrew, had called to inform her that he had set her on a blind date with his good friend and that she had to dress nicely for him. It had something to do with Andrew not holding the end of some deal they had made.
Victoria now had a list of things to do additionally except for what she originally planned for. She took the telephone that she had installed into her room to communicate with her workers, and called Butler Norts, to ready a car for her to go to the mall..
Victoria sighed as she got up and went to the bathroom, where she took off her clothes and got in the shower.
Victoria released a painful moan as her memories from that night came rushing back into her head. She saw some brief flashes of her and that guy that took her to the hospital and the one she saw at the diner.
'Who was this guy?' she thought.
Victoria was very sure that she had seen him somewhere else before. She felt her surroundings spinning and her eyes getting a bit blurred as she saw a flash of her and the same guy kissing in a bar. She stumbled out from the bathroom to her bedroom and quickly lay down on her bed.
Butler Norts was on the other side of Victoria's room, knocking to inform her that her ride was ready and waiting for her outside, but heard a soft noise coming from the room.
Butler Norts was getting anxious because he been at her door knocking for approximately fifteen minutes and his hands were bruising.
He felt like his face was betraying him, how could he show such things as emotion in the eyes of others, it did not get him anywhere before and it was not going to start now.
Turning towards the new maid, he motioned signaled her he had to accompany him towards the library to fetch the 'Books Of The Masters'.
Victoria's great grandmother, which was just a list of all members of the Jamespell and their location situated in the book, created this book. Although it was very exhausting work for their dear librarian.
The Librarian job in the Jamespell family was the hardest of all the jobs on the estate, because they had to manually enter the location of each family member, and every time they move to a new house or a different country. It was a lot. The Librarian has to enter their new location and address daily.
Eros, the current Librarian, was standing on the ladder and was dusting off the books that were too high for him to reach with his normal height. He jumped in delight, almost falling off the ladder in his excitement, Butler Norts, and the newbie maid waited until Eros had safely climbed off the ladder to the ground for him to announce what he came he for.
" Butler Norts, what brings you all the way to this section?" asked Eros but continued so quickly that Butler Norts did not have time to answer, "Oh...I get it now, you came here because you wanted the sequel to the book I gave you earlier."
"Thank you Eros that would be wonderful... But the reason behind my visit is that I need the 'Books Of The Masters', as soon as possible." declared Butler Norts with a straight face.
Eros face fell but quickly turned into worry because he knew that they only requested the book when the situation was very important.
Eros opened his mouth to ask what the matter is but quickly closed it when he saw Butler Norts, messing up the forms that he spent hours organizing in alphabetical order.
"Norts!" exclaimed Eros, but paused when he saw the shock stare of the girl beside him and the death glare that Butler Norts gave him.
" Um… I meant Butler Norts," said Eros while looking around the library awkwardly before saying," The book is not there, let me go get it."
Butler Norts watched as Eros ran to the dark section of the library, 'Mhmm... Must be where all the important things are.' observed Butler Norts.
He continued to look around for about a minute or two before going back to his original position when he heard footsteps.
Eros quickly rushed out of the section of the library, it was very scary although it was used for a decoy.
" Butler Norts, I believe this was what you asked for," he said in a somewhat playful tone, but stopped when he saw the way Butler Norts was observing the library.
Eros cast a glance at the girl Butler Norts brought along with him and noticed that she was playing with her hands nervously but was also taking a sneaky glance around the library.
'Something is not right,' said Eros to himself as he gave Butler Norts and his friend a semi strained smile as she ushered them out. "Well, it was good seeing some company. Follow me to the front desk for me to make a record of this."
Butler Norts noticed something strange with Eros's mood. He was giving them a strained smile and was not making the usual eye contact he used to give.
"Eros, is there something wrong?" he asked straightforwardly that caused Eros to pause what he was doing.
'What are you going to say to him now, Eros? Think,' he asked himself.
Releasing a nervous chuckle, Eros turned to Butler Norts while putting a hand on his hip that he bruised one minute before Butler Norts and the girl.
"Oh, it's nothing," Eros said as he waved his hands towards Butler Norts.
"Just a small bruise that I got when I went for the book," continued Eros as he tilts the waist of his pants to show them the slight bruise.
Nodding, Butler Eros motioned to the girl and said to Eros, "Well we'll be taking our leave now, better treat that."
He then walked out of the library.
