Chapter 13 - Police Station?... "Hey Deputy!"

Chapter 13 :

Ciro turned to Axel while ending the call and announced," Urghh... looks like it's time for me to go home."

This caused Axel's jaw to drop wide open. This boy was no older than five years old and was talking about heading home that took on his own.

He moved back, startled when Ciro gripped his hands and started pulling at him with his baby strength.

"Whoa, little man, do you even know where you're going?" asked Axel.

This caused Ciro to cease his pulling and turned to look at Axel. Ciro's hair was moving to the side of his forehead, showing off the small brown mark in the center of his forehead.

Time suddenly went still as Axel froze, his eyes zoomed in on the mark on Ciro's forehead for he recognized the mark.

That mark was heredity and his bloodline was the only one that carried it, so this meant that Ciro was related to him.

'Did any of my family members had a child five years ago?' thought Axel, but could not come up with an answer.

'Surely mom would've told me, let me check-' but he was pulled out of his thought when Ciro called him.

"Uncle A, are you ok?" he asked and Axel replied with a nod of his head.

"As I was saying earlier" Ciro paused and gave Axel his own version of glare before he continued, "You are going to take me home".

Axel shook his head and released a hearty laugh, "You've got to be kidding me."

As he said this Ciro shook his head as if to say no, "Wait...you're serious I don't even know where you live!" he exclaimed.

Ciro then nodded his head and declared while puffing his small chest," Don't you worry Uncle A, that's what Ciro is here for."

They looked at each other both before Ciro ran off giggling and had Axel running behind him shouting for him to wait up.

Ten minutes later Axel and Ciro were at the police station auguring with each other and the staff stared at them in amusement, sometimes even pausing their work just to hear eavesdrops on what the two were arguing about.

Even though I don't think you would classify it as eavesdropping if they're shouting. The two were supposed to summarize about how they got lost before they both glared and threw words at each other.

Axel and Ciro were now sitting in the deputy's office with their backs straight, legs together with their hands were placed on their knees.

The deputy was like a stern-looking Grandpa that they never had. Deputy Carrington, or Robert as he insisted they call him, came into the room that they were placed in and drew them out by the ear while mumbling something like, "You two rascals ruined my dinner."

He then brought them to his office and gave both Axel and Ciro a military-like lecture about when to 'Shut the hell up in public.'

Robert was speaking with Ciro's mother while an officer was speaking with Axel's secretary. Ciro's mother started screaming on top of her voice when she heard that Ciro was on the police station, not giving Robert a chance to speak.

"Ma'am if you would just let me speak-" Robert was once again interrupted for what seemed like the fiftieth time and Ciro was had climbed on Robert's desk and was now curled up on the table laughing.

Axel's secretary had redirected the call to Axel's mother, Jenny, and now they were engaged in a serious conversation; of course, that was when Jenny had finished crying for an hour.

"Mom, of course I'm sure, he has the same mark," said Axel to his mother.

"Are you sure, honey?" asked Jenny, "I mean, I don't think any member in the family gave birth in the past five years," concluded Jenny.

"For the last time, mother, I'm sure." insisted Axel.

"Ah," acknowledged Jenny," Then I want you to watch him and his family, give me a daily report" ordered Jenny.

"Yes, mother, in fact, it will not be a problem since I was planning to stay here for a while," agreed Axel.

"Bye mom, love you" he rushed, "That was a serious conversation," a voice said out of nowhere causing Axel to let out a terrified scream and heard everyone in the room laughing at him.

Looking in the direction the sound came from, Axel noticed Ciro was on the table behind him. Nervousness crept through Axel.

'Shit, how did I not notice he was there, what if he heard' thought Axel?

"Come on, little man," said Axel as he threw his arms around Ciro and guided him towards the waiting room," We've got that angry mother of yours to wait for" He announced.

The stranger had released a tear or two at the father-son reunion. His boss has been waiting for this reunion for a long time, heck the entire E.A.S.O. had been expecting this moment, although he's two hundred dollars richer than all.

Thanks to the bet he made with his colleagues and his boss. It was not the way his boss had planned; it was one step closer to fulfilling their goal. Boss made sure that Axel would come to Rome, and would somehow see Victoria and his kids and reunite with them.

He wanted to jump and scream when he saw Victoria and another girl pulled up by the entrance of the hospital while Axel and Ciro were at the waiting area, but sighed when he observed that Victoria and her friend ran pass them both as if she did not see them.

'What a pity,' he thought.

'What drama would that be when they saw each other,' his subconscious said?

Releasing a small laugh, he sang one word, "Drama"

Pulling out his phone, the stranger texted his boy, giving him an update on the situation.
