I'm woken up by my sister jumping onto me. I growl and open my eyes. "Mommy mold me to make you up for breafast." I get up and carry Lilly towards the kitchen. "Welcome come eat we made extra for you." The Luna smiles at us. I see our pack already eating. As I get my food my father clears his throat. Never a good sign. "My dear pack I trust that you had a good night sleep. I must ask again who is willing to go onto this journey, you have until noon to decide."
I wonder how many are going to leave. 'I don't want to think about it.' In other words he just told me to shut up. After eating I walk out of the pack house and look towards the woods. I notice that many of the Moonlit pack was gathering up the supplies for us. I sit down onto the steps. I soon feel a hand onto my shoulder. "Son do you wish to stay here?" As soon as my dad asked that the voice replays in my head. "No, I will go." I said with no hesitation. My father give me a nod with no emotion but I know that he was glad I chose to go.
Soon noon has arrived and everything was ready. The bags were made for our wolves. We pack lightly for we are wolves. For those who have children under sixteen are allowed one to two tents. Many of the men carried the bags and tents. There's also carts for those who can't shift. They are attached to the bags. Since Lilly is our only unshifter and is only five we have one tent for her and our parents. We also won't have a cart. "Asland you're carrying the bag for our family." I nod at dads command through the mind link.
I shift and one of the male wolves of the Moonlit pack sets a bag onto my back with a tent. Two girls from my pack came over. They were under fifteen so they were in charge of unbuckling us. The man showed them how. I growled as the man decided to use me as an example and made the buckle too tight. Then he made it too loose and threw me off balance. Now he shows the girls how to properly find out how tight it should be. Once he was done the girls headed off to go do the buckles. "Sorry about that boy."
I growl at his words. "Oh you must be the Alpha's son Asland. I'm Jack and I'm joining you guys with my mate and kids." I nod and walk away. It felt weird having something on my back. This must be what a horse feels like. 'Don't compare us to a horse!' Claude growls. I roll my eyes and glance around there was around fifty wolves and around thirty children. Once every thing was done we head off.
Lilly was put onto mom's back. Let's just say it took a long time to do so since she always wanted to ride on my back but I rarely let her, also I have the family bag full of clothes, blankets, water and snacks. There are ten wolfs that carry pots, pans, knives, water. We have a little bit of food, since we can hunt for our family. I followed behind my father and mom.
Three members stayed behind for their mates were in the Moonlit back, but five joined. Jack, his mate and three kids. We are now heading towards the BloodStone Pack which is a week away to refill supplies. I look up at the at the sky trough the tree leaves. "Assy can I get a snack?" I look at Lilly, I trotted up to my mom. Lilly digs into the side pocket for the snacks. It doesn't matter which side since both sides are full of snacks and water. After hours of walking the sun starts to set. "Let's call it a night." Dad mind links the pack. We find a small clearing enough room for the tents for those who can't shift.
The kids start to unbuckle their parents and the others. Soon a boy name Jimmy came and unbuckled me. As soon as the buckles were off I let the stuff fall off my back. I knew at there is nothing in there to break. We only set up ten tents for all those who can shift and women to sleep everyone else slept in wolf form. It was for protection plus there was barely room for ten tents.
I lay down next to my family's tent, I haven't shifted at all yet. I was assigned to watch the parameters while the tents were put up. I close my eyes about to go to sleep when I feel someone climbing on me. I open my eyes to see Lilly. 'What to you want, Lilly?' I ask nicely through the mind link. "Mommy mold me to get you for minner." I nod, 'ok, slide off so I can shift.'
She slides off and runs off, I'm guess towards the food. I shift, puts on clothes, unfortunately we tore our clothes when we shift. It's pretty inconvenient for many reasons but everyone is used to it. It is our way of life and there's no point in getting upset over thing you have no control over. I head in the direction that my sister ran off in. I sit down and mom hands me a bowl of soup. Sadly everyone is only allowed two bowls. Since we have to have the food least a week. I get up after my second bowl and walk back to the edge of camp and shift into my wolf. Claude you've been very quiet today. 'So?' Claude replies. I roll my eyes and go to sleep. I wake up to stuff moving. I stand up and shake the dirt off. I walk towards the camp. Many were making breakfast while others pack. "Oh good morning bear." I shift and hugged her. "Morning," I looked for dad in the camp but didn't see him. "Where's dad?"
"I don't know bear." I nod as I grab a pair of underwear and pants. I walk around seeing if I could find him. "Hey Land." I turn and see Mitchell with his three younger brothers and sister. "Hey Mitch." I walk over to them. "Your dad said we're leaving after breakfast." I nod, "speaking of my dad do you know where he is?" Mitchell shakes his head. I sigh I don't even know why I'm looking for him. 'Maybe to see if there's something that you can do?' Claude suggest, it sounds about right. I soon find him back with mom and Lilly. "Oh hey son." He greets as he sees me.
"I was wondering what I could do to help?" He stops to think. "Well we need a pair of wolves to go scouting ahead. I was going to offer you the job and you can choose who to go with you." I nod and watch as the men took down the tents. "So I won't have a bag on me?" My dad nods, "if Assy not moing to cerry a big can I mide on his mack?" Lilly asks with a hopeful look. "Sorry Lil I'm scouting I can't have you on my back." Lilly nods with tears in her eyes. She walks away towards mom. I turn to dad, "I'll have Mitchell come with me." Dad nods, "I figured so I already told him. You both have ten minutes to eat." With that he walks off. Soon everything was ready and breakfast was done.
We ate more soup and bread. After breakfast everyone shifted, a few people didn't to help get the bags onto the wolves, and the kids. Some I also help put some bags onto the backs as the children run around buckling everyone. Some of the bags had the carts attached to them. Many of the women had the carts. The bag I had is now on my father's back. Mitchell walks up to me, we shift and nod at each other as we head out. "All clear." I mind link the pack. Everyone start heading out following behind us as we scouting ahead. We are far up that we couldn't see the others but they are able to fellow our scent.
