For the past week. John, Mitchell and me took turns patrolling the territory. John and Mitchell patrolled together but at different sides of the territory. I took the night patrol. Jill became an amazing cook the past week. I can't wait for my family and pack arrive so we can set up a regular patrolling shifts. I have also tried to connect with the mate link. I can feel that she is very close by. So on payrolls I have tried to find her as well. Obviously with no such luck. I haven't told anyone this as of yet. A howl breaks me out of my thoughts.
"Their here!" Jill yells repeatedly as she runs around the pack house. I leave the game room and go to greet my family and friends. Once outside I shift and run to the border the territory. Mitchell and John soon flacks behind me. I let out a joyful howl as I see my father. I shift back into a human. Mom pulls me into a tight hug. I return it immediately. Dad clears his throat to get our attention. I turn to him only to get attack by Lilly. I pick her up and look at my dad to see what he wanted to say. "Yes, dad?" He smiles, "so do you like your birthday present?"
I look at him confused about what he meant. "What present?" Dad points towards the house. "The pack house was meant to be your eighteenth birthday present with or without a mate." I'm shocked at that statement. No wonder he allowed me to choose the new pack location without question. I remember that day like it was yesterday. 'I agree, I remember that we felt drawn to this place.' Claude popes up for the first time since finishing the marking.
"So now that you know that. I'm stepping down now. I Alpha Jersey Johnson step down from being the Firestorm Pack's Alpha and in trust it to my Son. Alpha Asland Mark Johnson with his, Beta Mitchell Joe Dailyn, his Delta John Florlyn and Delta female Jill Flower Florlyn." Instantly power surge through me.
I also notice that Mitchell and John stood straighter and Jill blushing like crazy. It's not uncommon to instantly putting the last name of the male wolves to the She wolves even if not married. Through we still do get married we just have absolutely certainty that we have an eternal marriage. Well we do have second chance mates as well if the first dies before meeting or if rejected. Which is like a death sentence for any werewolf, mostly rejects are from humans through there are some wolves who are more focused on power or wealth.
I smile and turn to Jill. "Jill Flower Florlyn do you promise to protect and provide for the Firestorm pack?" Jill smiles, "I do." Her voice was strong and hold no hesitation. The omaga of the past as no longer there. All that was there was a strong Delta female. That I am glad to welcome into my family. I return her smile. "Do you promise to stand strong as the delta female along side your mate and be there to help your future Luna as her third in command?" Jill smiles at John and turns back to me. "I do." I smile at her my first convert into my pack. "Do you promise to be truthful to your fellow pack mates and to not betray pack secrets to another pack?" She nods, "I do."
I grab the golden knife that a pack member held out. I slice it down my right palm. The pack member takes the knife and cleans the blood off before handing it to Jill. Jill slices her right palm as well and we shook hands. Our blood mix together forming the pack connection. "I Alpha Asland Mark Johnson accept you Jillyn Flower Florlyn into the Firestorm Pack." Instantly I feel a new link in my head. I open the link. "Welcome to the pack." She smiles and replies out loud. "I am proud to be the new Delta female." Cheers irrupt through the crowds.
I did this with three other girls. Jack and his family, and four young men. Dad clears his throat getting everyone's attention. "It is now time for the new Alpha and Beta to go on their first run as the new Alpha and Beta of the Firestorm Pack." Mitchell steps out of the crowd. He nods to me and shifts. His dark brown and red wolf shakes his fur. I shift into my wolf and walk up to my Beta. "Dude you're even bigger then before." Mitchell says on the pack link. Everyone laughs, "that's because he now has all the power of an Alpha." My dad answers the unspoken question.
I nod to Mitchell. I let out a howl the power I feel flowing in me from the members of my pack overwhelming me. The pack soon all join in. After the howl, I race into the woods. Mitchell runs right behind me. "I can't believe that I'm a Beta now." Mitchell says in our private link this time. "Mitch you were always a beta you just have the title now." Mitchell laughs as we continue our run. "Now all we need to find is the Luna and Beta female." I nod, "yes. I wonder which one comes first." We both laugh.
"Wow, we already made it to the end of the north part of the territory." Mitchell says as we look over the cliff. He shifts and tosses a rock over. I stay as a wolf looking at the forest below. Soon a flock of birds flies off in a panic. Mitch grimace at the sight. "Sorry!" Mitchell cups his mouth and yells. Now I grimace as my ears starts to pound. 'Now my ears are bleeding. Thanks a lot.' I mind link him. Mitch laughs as he holds his stomach.
Suddenly there's loud noises coming from behind us. I turn and see a rockslide. Mitchell turns and froze instantly. I ram full force into him. Sending him flying away from the rockslide. I feel a rock ram into my side. My feet left the ground as I'm thrown off the cliff. "ASLAND!" I watch the cliff's edge go farther away. Mitchell reaches out his hand with tears in his eyes. I close my eyes accepting that there is no survival. The last thing I hear is the wind and the sound of wings.
