Oliver messed with his computer until he heard the alarm he had set for midnight. He could only hope his parents hadn't heard it. It was time to check for his new daily tasks. This would now be his routine. Wait for the new daily tasks, complete as many as soon as possible, and finish the rest when he was free.
It was extremely inefficient, but he was still willing to do it.
So he checked his phone for the latest daily tasks.

{This stupid thing keeps surprising me...}
Yet another change, but this time it was the bonus daily task.
"So Daily tasks are prone to change as well... what's the base factor for determining which tasks are fair to me or not?"
He couldn't think of anything, so he just gave up on it. 'By gain of knowledge' probably referred to reading or something. But that wouldn't change his plans.
{Time to start with these pushups}

{I can't do sprinting in my room and I pulled way too many muscles while doing situps.}
Oliver hadn't taken many things into consideration. There was the fact that his muscles would get sore from yesterday's training. Then there was also the problem of some of his pushups and situps failed to count as completed.
He had tried for over an hour and got tired. So he had fallen asleep for a while.
His body hurt like hell, but he would willingly wade through it if it meant growing stronger. It was a bit early in the morning and so he was free to try several things to get rid of the soreness. But then an idea popped up in his mind.
He could eat breakfast.
Such an idea was random, but it would help in the long run. There was the daily task of consuming 3000 calories. He doubted he could eat all that for breakfast, but if he planned it he could do it. So he walked into the kitchen to find nobody else around.
He simply prepared himself a plate of waffles and a mug of hot chocolate. He added a plate of eggs and bacon, which took him some good time to make and made too much noise. Thankfully, the kitchen door dulled the sizzling, so Oliver hoped his parents weren't unceremoniously awakened.
He ate everything and just as he was washing up, his father walked into the kitchen with a messy bed head. He moved sluggishly and blinked as the sunlight from the windows blinded him.
He stretched a hand towards the high cabinets, and a mug flew into his hand. He then walked over to the coffeemaker and messed around with it.
"Morning pops."
"Sup champ... God, I feel messed."
Oliver finished up and walked out of the kitchen to stop at the bathroom. He took a quick shower and changed into comfortable clothes. On his way out the door, he stopped to shout at his dad.
"I'M WALKING TO SCHOOL TODAY. ALSO DON'T EXPECT ME HOME TOO EARLY."
With that said, he walked out of the house with his school bag being heavier than usual. He had packed food for the rest of the day and the reason for walking to school was to complete the 3rd daily task.
He looked down at the nice sports shoes Jack had got him for his last birthday and stretched a bit.
{Can't sprint all the way but I can cut down on the progress.}
He got in a get ready position and, counting down to three, he sprinted down the road.

{4 more days}
Oliver walked through the school corridor as he headed for his next class. He had 4 days left until he had to give his response to the gene research tower about his answer. He planned to say yes but there was what college he would be assigned to.
A few schoolmates jogged past him as he headed to the school labs. Biology was the next class and it was a double period. God knew just how tired Oliver already was.
Growing in strength would have to wait.
(A few hours later)
Oliver once again stood outside the gym with his duffel bag and bored expression. His school gym clothes were now clean and complimented his messy black hair. He scanned his school ID and walked in to find only one other person.
"Get lost."
"Nice to see you too, Elaine."
Oliver set down his duffel bag on the bleachers and gazed at Elaine doing stretches in the center of the gym. The high up windows let in the golden sunlight that seemed to illuminate Elaine's beauty, and Oliver stood rooted to his spot.
"Stop gawking and start stretching yourself."
"OH!"
Oliver coughed into a balled fist and turned away as he started stretches. He heard several bone snaps, which made him uncomfortable and a dull pain, meaning his muscles weren't fully recovered.
"Okay... you ready to start?"
Elaine got up and walked over barefoot and her hair freely swaying.
"Quick question. Where's Jack?"
"He can't join today. Something came up at his house, so he said."
"He told you rather than tell me? His best friend?"
"Shut up and let's start."
Oliver grumbled and got up as he got in a suitable stance. They would start with combat training before anything else.
"OKAY HERE I COME!"
Oliver moved forward with a left stomp and his right fist aiming for Elaine's gut. Not the most Judo like move, but he knew it would never connect. Elaine swayed to the left and stomped her foot onto Oliver's bent left knee as a sort of pedestal.
Oliver yelped and his thrown punch lost momentum and Elaine caught it in her palm. She looked unbothered as Oliver twitched in pain.
"That reminds me... you didn't do proper stretches yesterday, had you?"
"NO!"
"Hmmm...."
She lifted her foot off his knee and released his fist before walking a few paces back.
"Now let's try Judo moves, please. No, stupid comic moves."
Oliver grunted as he got up and took a step forward, this time using a proper stance. He took a deep breath to quell the pain and pounced forward, shortening the distance quickly.
Elaine simply watched him move closer and remained in her stance and position.
Oliver was within striking distance and tried to move for a front kick to startle her. She didn't budge and simply moved up one arm to take the brunt of the kick. With all momentum lost, Oliver was severally unbalanced and stumbled back only to have the hem of his jacket grabbed by Elaine. He was no longer falling, but he feared what was about to happen even more.
She pulled him closer, using his jacket, and grabbed his arm with her other hand. What came next was the harshest slamming noise ever heard as it knocked all the air out of Oliver's lungs and he looked up at the ceiling. He had been flipped so easily.
"That was a front kick from Taekwondo, dumbass."
