Oliver couldn't help but smile. He had messed around with his telekinesis until 11 in the night and then started doing random exercises he googled up to cultivate Agility points.

He then tapped the Daily Tasks, and it switched to the Daily Report.

Oliver was feeling proud of himself right now. He had farmed an amazing 9 agility points and even though there was the stat distribution ratio to consider it was still a great feeling.

{Ultimate physique here I come.}

He had a few more minutes to grind even more agility points but he wouldn't lie, he was feeling tired. Telekinesis had helped him erase the feeling of fatigue from his mind but the rush was over and it washed over him once again like a tsunami. He was staying up late a lot these days, grinding points.

{Tomorrow I should get some proper sleep in...}

With that thought, Oliver checked his status and the screen once again changed.

His overall power level increased as well and as small as it may have looked, Oliver felt pride looking at it. For all he knew, the average power level of a non-evolved human was 10 or something like how he used to be.

Now, with that done, Oliver couldn't be bothered to do anything else. His bed called to him like a mythical siren and he jumped onto it. His blanket was on the floor from how he had left it that morning after waking up. Lacking the energy to get up for it, an idea popped into his head. With his eyes closed he pulled on the blanket using his telekinesis and he felt its soft impact as it landed atop him.

With a smile on his face Oliver Smith fell asleep.

(1 day left)

This was Oliver's last day of normal school curriculum. It was Friday and tomorrow he planned on accepting the ranker's college offer. As far as everybody else knew, Oliver was still an average person. He had never told Jack, Elaine or even Ethan, the person he was supposed to take the gene test with.

Today he would tell them all.

He was awake at 6 in the morning messing around with his assignment he had left aside last night. It wasn't too difficult and he cleaned it up in less than 15 minutes. A good mood washed over him as he got up to change clothes.

Once he was done he checked his phone and there were the new daily tasks.

Oliver smiled and walked out of his room towards the kitchen. Both his parents were in their room doing God knows what and Oliver wanted to prep breakfast early for himself. He slapped together a sloppy sandwich made with ham, cheese and some watercress that just so happened to be in the fridge. A mug of coffee from the very conveniently placed coffee maker and ate it all in the kitchen. Finally he started packing food for school.

Light was filtering through the kitchen curtains and Oliver decided to open them for better light. It was early in the morning and even though the neighbouring houses blocked it Oliver could see the orange tinge of the sunrise.

With all that he needed being done Oliver headed out of the house as early as 7 in the morning to head for school. He had something he needed to do.

As he left the house the cold of winter morning hit him straight in the head. A shiver spread through his body as if in fear of an awful premonition to come.

{Damn... just how cold is it?}

***********************************

Rano hated the cold and she was no morning person. So standing out here on the porch of a person's suburban home in this cold winter morning was nothing short of torture. Both of her hands were deeply placed into the pockets of her buggy pants and a shiver was inching up her spine slowly.

gods, she hated the cold.

Her gaze was focused across the street toward another house that looked uncannily similar to the house she was at. Suddenly the door of the other house opened and out walked a tall black-haired boy carrying a bag on his back and wearing heavy winter clothing. Possibly a high school student.

{Wait... tall?}

Rano's eye's focused more onto the boy and she realized who it was in an instant.

It was the human boy! Oliver Smith!

Oliver stopped for a moment and violently shivered all of a sudden. He stayed for a while before walking away, oblivious to any strange gazes pointed his way.

Rano's eyes followed after him, her initial shock tucked away carefully. Although it seemed subtle Oliver Smith had changed. He was taller, his facial features a bit more refined and his body a little bit more stocky.

He was not like that last night.

{Did something happen to him in such a short time?}

"You know caught staring like that anybody would be suspicious of you."

The voice startled Rano out of her reverie. It sounded lazy and slow like a very tired school teacher. Rano turned around to see a completely average looking woman with her hands holding two porcelain cups of something hot. The woman was wearing a light peach cashmere sweater and grey loose jeans, her ample chest lifted the hem of the sweater to the point her navel was slightly showing. Her getup was alluring but her appearance would put one off.

It was early in the morning and yet her face was already caked with excessive makeup. On the bridge of her nose was a bright red bandage that attracted eye gazes far more than her getup would. Her soft curly brown hair was flowing to her back, free yet appeared to not have been taken care of for so long.

She wore rhinestone framed glasses with thin lens that appeared they weren't there at all. Her eyes were as brown and soft as butterscotch.

"What does it matter? It's not like as if anybody was looking my way, anyway."

Rona had no liking for this particular human. Every human had a strange aura, a presence so disgusting Rona found herself disliking them.

But this woman... she had nothing. No aura, no smell, not even a sense of body heat radiation. It was like she was separated from the world.

It was the most scary thing Rona could imagine.

The woman shrugged and handed Rona one of the cups. It was filled with hot cocoa, small marshmallows bobbing about sending ripples across the thick brown surface. Rona didn't bother drinking but asked the woman a question.

"How do you plan on taking care of the boy?"

The woman made no particular response other than sipping on her cocoa and looking towards the house Rona had been looking at earlier.

Rona hated this about her as well.

"Well," the woman finally responded after a while, "I have a plan for him, though it's not exactly foolproof. What about you? How do you plan on taking care of the man?"

Now it was Rona's turn to delay her response, staring far as the sunrise came to its end and the sky orange tinge faded away.

"Don't worry about it."
