"Cousin, when will you return to the base?" Lady Nicole asked Lucian. The recruits had left the academy moments ago, she thought it was only a matter of time until Lucian would join them too.
Katherine's interest peaked as she listened in on their conversation, although it wasn't a private one. "Not anytime soon," Lucian said as glanced at the human girl that stood at his side. He was glad to see that she had taken up interest, no matter how small.
The carriage that was to take them to the castle was still being prepared but under the warm morning sun, they continued to walk about the academy's grounds after seeing off the recruits.
Katherine's brows furrowed lightly and Lucian heard her heartbeat increase ever so slightly. He offered his hand to Katherine causing her to snap out of her thoughts and hesitantly placed her hand in his.
