Katherine was enjoying the warm summer breeze when a knock on the door captured her attention. She gently walked over to the door and when she opened it she was shocked to see Samuel's cousin standing there.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Miss?" He smirked waiting for the girl to take his hand which eventually she did.
"Katherine Daventin," she answered. Katherine looked at the man feeling uncomfortable as he kissed the back of her hand.
Katherine withdrew her hand and placed it at her side while she waited for the man to continue talking, "Lord Michael Rothenberg, milady,"
"Sir Rothenberg, what are you doing here?" Katherine was wary of the man and was secretly hoping that Lucian had decided to come back early.
"Would you care to join me on a promenade around the gardens?" The young Sir Rothenberg was curious as to how this particular girl had managed to capture the attention of the cold-hearted King.
