"Milord," Katherine curtsied before taking the only empty seat on the table which was beside Lucian. As Katherine was seated, she snuck a glance at the vampire through the side of her eye.
After their last meeting together, Katherine had come to the conclusion that he wasn't exactly the kindest soul there is.
She momentarily thought back to the way Lucian's hand had pulled out that man's heart and threw it on the ground as if it was nothing.
Katherine gulped and her palms became slightly damp. She wasn't scared of Lucian but he made her uncomfortable.
Katherine was so lost in her thoughts that several minutes had gone by without her touching the food.
Lucian glanced at the girl briefly before clearing his throat and cutting a slice of meat. "Is the food not to your liking?"
The chatter amongst others in the room quietened, it was rude to speak when the King was speaking.
