Talon's P.O.V.
I was halfway through my lunch that consisted of meatloaf and carrots when I heard someone speak.
"Forget something?" asked the rude person interrupting my lunch.
"Not that I know of," I said without looking up from my food hoping they would go away. But, to my dismay they stayed and continued talking.
"Then I guess you won't be needing this anymore?" the person asked. I looked up to see what they were talking about. In their hand I saw my phone which I probably left in the classroom after being woken up when class was over. I quickly grabbed it from them and looked up to see who was kind enough to return my phone to me. My jaw dropped as I took in the sight that I saw.
In front of me I saw the one thing that could have the school buzzing like it was. It was a boy about sixteen years old with medium, straight, blond hair. His skin looked smooth and it looked like he had a little tan going on. His eyes were like glowing like balls of blue fire. The white short-sleeve shirt hung loosely around his body providing a sense of mystery, unlike mine which clung to my body. His dark blue pants were like his shirt loose and had to be held on with a belt, almost like someone went shopping for his clothes without knowing what sizes to get.
Realizing that I was staring I quickly closed my mouth, feeling my cheeks burn as I begin to blush. Hopefully he won't notice I'm blushing, I thought to myself. "Thanks, you must be new from all the noise you are causing in the school."
"Yeah, what's your name kid?" the boy asked. Hearing him calling me a kid made me really angry.
"I'm not a kid," I said angrily.
"Sorry," he apologized. "So, what is it?"
"My name is Talon. What about you?"
"I'm Logan." For some reason hearing his name filled my belly with butterflies, a feeling which I have never had the pleasure of feeling before. What does this mean? I thought.
Wanting this feeling to end I asked, "Now what can I help you with, other than you giving me my phone?" I can see from his expression that he was a little hurt by this, which upset me for some weird reason.
"You're the second person I had the pleasure of talking to since I got to this school, besides the teachers. Everyone else just seems to be busy talking about me with each other than to talk to me directly."
"That's because a new student is a rare sight for this school. The last time we got one it didn't turn out so well. It ended up taking months for the whole school to recover," I explained. This brought up old memories that I really don't want to remember. I silently plead with my mind that the he wouldn't ask me to explain what exactly happened. As if my prayers have been answered a sudden ringtone started sounding.
"Sorry, I have to take this," Logan said as he started walking away from me towards the bathroom. I quickly got up and went after him.
"What are you doing?" I asked when I caught up to him, surprised that he was going to take a phone call right in the middle of the school day. "You'll get into serious trouble if the teachers spot you on your phone," I went on.
"That's why I'm going in the bathroom," he answered while walking into the bathroom and into a stall shutting it in my face.
"Fine, I'll stand guard then," I said while turning around to stand by the entrance of the bathroom. I was standing there for about five minutes when from the corner of my eyes I saw a bright blue light come from the stall Logan was in. I turned around to get a better look but it was gone in a flash. I decided that it was just my imagination and continued standing guard.
The blue light returned after another ten minutes. This time when I turned around it was still there. I immediately headed for the stall to ask Logan what was going on in there. As soon as I reached the stall door the light vanished.
"What in the world is going on in there Logan?" I asked. A few seconds passed with no response I called his name, "Logan?" but there still wasn't a response. Now I was worried about him so I quickly dropped down to the floor and looked into the stall to see if he was alright. I stared in shock at the now empty stall still locked from the inside. Where did he go? I asked myself.
The rest of the day I didn't see any sign of Logan in any of my classes, nor did I see him anywhere in the hallways. It's like he just vanished into thin air, I thought to myself as I left for my house after school was let out. I'll just have to ask him about it tomorrow.
