Chapter 15 - Chapter 14

School was getting boring. Of course, if you ask anyone else, they would say it is always boring. I on the other hand enjoyed it. School was interesting to me, at least it was until Logan arrived. I don't know why, since I've only known him for a day and talked to him for about thirty minutes until he suddenly had to leave after looking at his phone. His fiery blue eyes and the fact that he disappeared from the bathroom stall in a blast of light made him seem way more interesting than anything I could possibly learn in this school. Even though he had my interest before he vanished in thin air, he definitely had it all now.

As I sat in the library before lunch helping the librarian, I thought of how to confront him about what happened and what I saw. It's not like I could go up to him and ask him outright. If he could do what I saw happen I don't know what he would do if he realizes I saw what he did. He might kill me or he might beat me up and threaten me to be quiet. I have to approach this slowly and carefully until I get some more information and figure out what he might do. The lunch bell snapped me out of my thinking.

After getting a slice of pizza I went to go sit down, but stopped in my tracks when I noticed the guy of my thoughts sitting at the table I normally occupy. Wanting to avoid him till I figure out how I'm going to proceed, I turned around and headed back to the library. The librarian lets me eat in there sometimes as long as I eat in the backroom out of sight from the other students so no one else can eat in there. It was one of the perks of always helping out in the library. This place was my safe haven from all the bullies, since they would rather be found dead then get caught in here.

After lunch was over, I went to the rest of my classes that I had for the day. During my last class of the day my thoughts returned to Logan. For some reason he didn't really frighten me as much as he did earlier today. I decided that after school I would find him and see what was going on. The rest of the class went by slowly after that. It was as if time slowed down as it got closer to the end of the school day just to torture me so I wouldn't get my answers quick enough. At last the bell signaling the end of school rang releasing me to confront Logan and figure out what was going on.

I rushed to my locker and quickly gathered up my things to take home and went to find out where Logan was. I went through most of the hallways looking for him when I finally found the blond hair boy making his way to the library. This made me curious as to why he was heading there. The fear I had earlier that day returned to me. What if he figured out that I saw the flash of light and realized that he had vanished and is going to eliminate me to keep his ability a secret. I almost turned around and snuck out just to prolong what could be the last little bit of my life, but my curiosity got the better of me and I went inside.

During my internal fight with myself and my nerves Logan managed to make his way past the many shelves of book, magazines, and movies that the library contained. I picked up my pace so that he didn't make it further away from me. As I walked past one of the rows of shelves, I felt someone grab me and yank me to the ground. My body welcomed the ground with a flood as pain as its movement was suddenly stopped. Slightly stunned I looked up expecting Logan to be standing over me with a murderous look in his eyes, but to my relief and my horror I was meet with the sky-blue eyes of my long-time crush Jake.

"What was that for?" I hissed as I slowly regained my senses from having kissed the ground.

"It was to reminder," he said, like it was all the explanation that I needed.

"A reminder for what?" I inquired, slightly annoyed that my plan to confront Logan is being postpone due to Jake's bad timing and bullying session.

"It was just to remind you that just because you were in the hospital for a few days does not free you from my sights," he finished. "In fact, I will be upping your punishment for being so weak and for still being a fag," he went on, as he raised his fist and sent it flying for my stomach. My vision blurred and came back as pain flooding my chest as his fist collided with it. "Let that be a warning to you and a taste of more to come," he whispered in my ear. As he backed up an expression flashed across his face before it vanished as he turned around.

After Jake had left, I quickly got up and rounded the shelf to find that Logan was no longer in the library. Giving up on finding any answers today I decided that I would try again tomorrow. As I made my way home, I thought about what had happened between me and Jake. Did I imagine what I saw before he left or am I just totally wrong. Sure, his actions of punching me and threatening me contradicted what I saw flash across his face, a small part of me was hoping it was true. Did I see the look of regret and sadness come across Jake's face before he left? I thought to myself as I reached my house and went inside.
