After failing to find Talon all day I returned home to find that the smell of burnt pancakes has faded and was replaced by the delicious scent of sausage pizza. I guess after Raven ordered one to ensure I wasn't going to mad at her for stinking up the house and almost burning it down. Little did she know that I wouldn't get angry at her. Besides I know she was just trying to be helpful around here so she doesn't feel useless except when she needs to act like a guardian for me.
Sitting down at the long mahogany table I saw where that intoxicating aroma came from. A Papa John's pizza box was lying directly in front of me. Opening it I saw that it indeed contained a sausage pizza. Papa John's sausage pizza was my favorite and Raven knew it. She was definitely trying to make it up to me for this morning's incident.
After I stuffed my face with the pizza, I made my way up the long spiral staircase that led to my room. I have time to take a quick nap before I have to go for my daily jog, I thought. I just laid my head down on my nice king-sized bed with its comfy memory foam mattress and silk bedding when my phone went off. Thinking it was Anubis I groaned before I glanced at my phone. I let out a sigh of relief when I saw that it was only Clover. We had exchanged numbers earlier that day before the final bell dismissing school for the day had rung.
Clover: Hey clueless.
Was the message displaying on my phone. I quickly typed out a response and sent it. It read;
Me: Hey. Why are you calling me clueless?
A few seconds passed before I received a response.
Clover: Because, silly, you are. You still have no idea about anything in this town or anything that is going on. Therefore, clueless you are.
Me: Did you just turn into Yoda in the end there?
Clover: Oh my god, you are such a nerd lol. That was all you got out of that?
Me: No, I just thought it was funny.
Clover: I'm beginning to think you are weird.
Me: Aren't we all just a little weird. Lol
Clover: That's true. So anyways, I think it should be high time to get you informed in everything this town has to offer.
Me: So, this town has more to offer then just the school and the knowledge that it shares? lol
Clover: Of course, this isn't just a boring old town in the middle of nowhere. When are you free so I can help you discover what secrets this town has to share?
Me: This sounds like a date. Lol
Clover: Not in your wildest dreams mister. You are definitely not my type. And just for suggesting that I will be giving you a well-deserved bop to the head when I see you next.
Me: Ok sorry. I don't really know when I'm free my work usually calls me randomly whenever they need me to do something.
Clover: Oh, I'm sure we can plan something spur of the moment. It's no big deal if you can't. I understand how jobs can be.
Looking up from my phone I happen to see the time on my alarm clock. I was surprised to see that we had been chatting for an hour and a half now and if I wanted to go for my run today, I would have to go now. I hurriedly sent a message to Clover.
Me: Sorry, I have to go now. If I don't leave for a run now, I won't get another chance today.
I then got up from my nice warm bed and put on some blue and white stripes gym shorts and a blue striped t-shirt. As I was putting on my blue Nike running shoes, I heard my phone go off. When I finished putting them on, I glanced at my phone.
Clover: Alright, we will discuss this again tomorrow at school.
Me: Alright, later.
Clover: Later.
Sliding my phone into a running sleeve, I strapped it to my arm so I didn't have to have it in my pocket hitting my leg with each stride and so I didn't have to leave it behind in case Anubis called on me. I really don't want to find out what would happen if I end up missing a summons. Opening the door to my house I left for my run.
An hour later I returned from my little bit of freedom that I get when I run. I went into the bathroom striping as I made my way to the shower. The shower was big enough that it could fit more than one person if needed and had three shower heads so that water came from all directions except where the shower door was. After studying my new body like I always do before I get in the shower still trying to get use to how different it looks. I stepped into the hot water spray from the shower heads.
Ten minutes later I found my way into my room and got dressed in some baggy jeans and a lose fitting t-shirt with a grey wolf design. Sighing I laid down on the bed. This feels good, I thought as the confines of my bed hits me. I was just about to fall asleep due to my run and lack of a nap earlier when the sound of Anubis's ringtone came from my phone. I'm never going to get a chance to relax today. I glanced at the screen and so my next mission. There goes the rest of my day, I thought as I opened the portal with my now life-size scythe. I stepped through the portal to complete a long list of missions for the remainder of the day.
