"Tyler," Osiric asked me, "What do you want to order?"
I thought about if for a moment, the restaurant we currently in was a cheap one. We could've gone to a more expensive one, but we didn't want to eat fancy food today.
"How about this?" I showed them an order in the menu.
It was just some meat and stew. To be honest, it was pretty simple.
"Sure."
"Ok."
Osiric and Emma said respectively.
Today, we only wanted to eat some simple dishes, so this was very good.
I then called the waitress, "Can I have this order, please?"
"Sure." she then took the order and went back.
We didn't have anything do; but we didn't talk. Since the food is probably going to come in seconds.
That should be impossible, you may say. I would have agreed as well; food needs time to cook, and if its done quickly then the food will burn.
But if you think about it, it seems plausible in this world. And it is.
Cooking skill allows you control the laws of physics, actually no, cooking skill allows you to control time for the food; so you can cook food faster.
You also can control how the heat is used, so, with a cooking skill you can just put the food inside a fireball and cook it.
Though at low level its not possible, but after level 3 it is. And even the cheapest restaurants have to have a chef with the level 3 skill; there is not a big difference between level 1 and 2, and level 1 isn't that different from just raw talent.
And just like I had predicted, the food came shortly after. At high end restaurants the food would just be teleported to you; since they would have a space time mage or an item - mostly an item, space time mages are very expensive.
"Let's dig in." Osiric went first, he chowed down on his meal.
Seeing him eat the food, we joined him as well.
The food didn't last, it was finished in about 10 seconds. Well that's kinda long if you know that all of us could move at the speed of sound.
The people didn't find it weird, as it was normal for strong people to eat like this. They just wanted to show how fast they could eat, since they could normally as well.
If strong people were forced to eat like this, then there would be a massive problem. People in this world can get super strong, so if they couldn't control their power, then they could be destroying pretty much everything they touched.
You could argue by saying that there would stronger materials and you would be correct, but when a person reaches the peak of a rank. Then they would destroying those strong materials things left and right - especially at higher ranks.
Since you won't be able to continuously dine at a place that a person with a higher dines daily. Since, a place a F-rank would dine, the meals would all cost 5-10 gold.
That's pretty much impossible for us, and that's only a single rank difference.
"Let's go, I really want to sleep early today." I said, "We have to go and meet up with Dave at about 3 am."
If we wanted we just could ignore sleeping, but it would be pretty bad for our growth.
Emma and Osiric both nodded, I then left the restaurant with them following behind me.
...
It was about to be 3, so the sky was dark.
I was outside, slowly walking to the building where Dave had unloaded his luggage yesterday. Behind me were Osiric and Emma.
We had woke up at the same time today, though Emma still woke up a little faster than us. We hadn't eaten anything; since we still weren't hungry and no shop would open this early.
The reason we were walking to the building was because Dave was in there.
When I talked about inns with Dave, I got curious and asked him where he would stay.
He answered that he could stay inside the building for a night; since the building had some rooms free and he could use those.
Due to the quest being a guard quest, we had to personally meet up with him to accept the quest; even though the quest was already inside our card.
"Tyler," Osiric asked me, "we are going start moving immediately, right?"
"Yeah," I answered, "Dave said that he didn't want to stay here for days, and wanted to leave immediately."
The quest that he had first given out was only for making him reach the destination; he used the highest amount of money he could spend on a quest to give the quest out.
When we asked how he would go back, we liked him - and we had technically scammed him - so we were ready to escort him back for free if he asked.
Though that's only if he wanted to live immediately; since we had to become F-rankers fast. We didn't know him for a long time, so, I didn't know if he wanted to leave immediately.
He had replied by saying that he would get a lot of money for his delivery so he would pay it with that.
We then walked slowly for a while, then we reached the front of the building.
"Dave said that he would meet us at the back of the building.", I turned towards Emma and Osiric and explained to them.
They nodded, so I started walking to the spot where Dave would meet us.
We then walked to the back. We heard some noise, there was a person getting his stuff ready. We already knew who the person was, so we just waited for the person in question.
The person finished his work, he then wiped his forehead; as he had build up sweat.
He then saw us, standing still and looking at him. He was a little startled.
"Dave!", I happily called him out.
