Chapter 40 - Blue Mage Set

Then Dave, happily, said to us, "We me quite fast, isn't it!"

We currently sitting at the reception area. He had some spare chairs lying around, so we were sitting on them.

"Yes. But, don't you have any customers; after all you did have like 10 set equips." I was a little curious.

"Yeah, I was expecting to find at least someone in the shop." Osiric said.

I mean if someone did have, even had, some set equips in stock in at your stop; that shop would get a popularity boost for a while. The chance of getting a set equip was just that yearning.

You could also buy set equips from the shop who don't have a contract with the guild - basically anything "illegal". But you will have to be ready to pay double. And even when the price is doubled, people still buy them.

It was very weird that the price of the set equips weren't all that high, even though its demand was soo high.

But right now I didn't want to get anywhere close to economics.

"Well, sadly, they are already sold out, plus my shop is kinda new - I only have started my business 3 months ago. Though I still saved two of them for you, just like you had asked." Dave answered.

"Really!?" I asked him, "Yes." he calmly replied.

"Thank you!" I had to thank him, after all. "Don't worry about it, you guys did help me out a lot for the last few days." He replied

When he said that I started to look a little dead, "Last week..."

It was the same with Emma and Osiric. We may not care about it, but still, it would still hurt our feelings if we were called masochistic-destruction-hungry-arsonist, when we were completely innocent.

Dave feeling something was off, asked why. I couldn't answer, since I was the main cause. Osiric couldn't answer since he cared about my feelings. So only one who could answer was Emma - who didn't give a damn about my feelings, and also liked to complain a lot!

She then explained what had happened, smartly avoiding things that might have made us suspicious - I mentally gave her a thumbs up, she felt that I had done that, so, she got a little smug.

"What!? You are telling me that you fought with an otherworlder and wiped the floor with them, literally, with them!? And because of that strange rumors are flowing through the city!?" Dave asked us.

We all nodded, we didn't ask Dave why he didn't know about the rumours. After all, we had barely heard them and we had explored the city yesterday; he had immediately went to his shop after coming back.

Dave looked at us with sympathy, his eyes tearing a little, "I am soo sorry... I didn't mean to remind you that."

"Oh! Don't worry about it! We have gone through worse!" I said to Dave, making sure that he doesn't worry about us too much.

He only could give us a wry smile.

"Ahem," I cleared my throat, "now then, let's get back to the main topic.", I then looked at Dave, and with a casual tone, said "Dave about the set equipment; we sadly only have 60 gold coins with us; so we won't be able to pay you in full. But, I assure you that you can expect your money back in a week."

"If its 60 gold coins, then you can take it, I don't mind losing 20 gold coins. Plus you guys need it, after all, you do have strange rumours about you flowing through the city - even though you are innocent. It's the least I could do to help, right?" Dave answered

Hearing him say that really made me feel a hint of sadness, though it was quickly annihilated, for scamming him for a named weapon.

"Thank you, soo much!" I thanked him again.

Dave gave me a wry smile, "Though... can I ask you guys a favour?" asked Dave.

"Sure, anything we can provide." I replied.

"Can you again help me do another delivery?" he asked us.

I then looked at Osiric, since we did technically had already planned to stay in his village.

"Um... Dave," Dave turned towards Osiric, "do you mind if you could stay at the Kreg Village, for a while?"

"I mean if its less than 6 days, then sure. I don't mind taking a little detour." Dave answered kindly.

Hearing him felt like a godsent, "Though what type of quest will you like to issue?" I asked him.

He then thought about if for a moment, "I am thinking of a guard quest."

"Really!" I banged the table, Dave was a little startled since I had made a massive shockwave with that single move - Emma and Osiric were unfazed, though Dave still felt it; though the table - which had some smoke rising off of it, was fine - after all, the materials in this world were reinforced by magic.

"Sure, I think the reward would be two sets of blue mage armor." Dave answered.

And that's how we started our 1 month long quest.
