A flying Phoenix feather lit the sky aflame as it roared across the horizon. The two cultivators that road atop one looking off in several directions. "Who are you looking for?" Markus asked Sarah.
"A mortal I would like to say goodbye one last time, he could die before we come out of closed cultivation." She said spotting the inn; "ah its over there!"
Markus looked over, "Was that mortal with the books at the inn your friend?"
"So, you did buy the books from him, you're not the only one, he made quite the business out of our exchange – or so I've been told." Sarah said happily. "There is apparently a legend of the Mortal Auction House."
"No, I took everything, killed him with a blast of lightning and wandered off." Markus sighed lightly.
Sarah was furious but in the cultivation world strength is everything and she could not stack up to Markus despite being of nearly equal level. Instead of fighting she quickly flew off the feather and down to the inn.
"Dear mortals I am looking for an acquaintance of mine." As she spoke softly even the buildings rumbled, carrying her voice across the small area. Soon the mortals ran out and the innkeeper came into view, bowing respectfully before the young woman.
"Welcome esteemed immortal guest, what can we poor mortal do for you today?" The man asked quickly.
"I am looking for a mortal named Hatzu." Sarah exclaimed.
"That honoured guest purchased this establishment but took his leave sometime ago." the man said struggling to his feet.
"Do you know where he went or if you can get a message to him?" Sarah asked.
"He went in search of libraries, after reaching Katus he hopes to return after researching different languages." The innkeeper explained.
"Fine" she said talking back to the skies her quiet voice reverberated again "Tell him I wish to make a trade of equal exchange."
With that she flew off catching up too the Phoenix Feather. "Did you accomplish your goal" Markus asked.
"No but its something I can take care of later." She said refusing to give him face.
Down below the old Innkeeper was going nuts preparing paper and gold to have a message sent. Methods of mortals where slow. The innkeeper took the note to the harbour, it traveled by sea for one month before making its way across land until it eventually made Its way to a dessert city where a young man, thin sat reading with a slight smile.
"Is it to master Hatzu's likening?" A woman asked standing off too the side.
Hatzu smiled and looked the woman up and down before scanning the scenery; "pack up everything, I think its time I travel back to the inn." Standing up he held the letter out and it suddenly caught fire burning away with an intense heat.
"It will take several days to prepare all the books and plants…" the woman began.
Hatzu interrupted, "Stay here and tend to the plants they won't traverse the dessert well."
The woman skillfully bowed and sighed internally relieved to stay in her homeland. "I will arrange for your travel by air ship. The trip should last about a month, but it should bring you directly to your destination."
"Wonderful!" Hatzu exclaimed making his way out the door eventually towards the centre of the town. After a few steps and a flicker, he disappeared into the wind.
